For reference I had 4 teeth on the left side of my mouth that was all fillings, then crowned and then root canaled, then 2 were implants and then one was losing bone (canine) and no one could figure it out. I was temporarily living in Delray and went to Spodak for a cleaning. It was super modern and had every speciality under one roof. (I can't find that anywhere else.) You want a dentist that is comprehensive even if you want cosmetic too. Anyone can do cosmetic. You need someone who cares about how your teeth function. Functionality is the key to dental health. Dr Spodak came in (the patriarch) he was very warm and comforting. Terrific bedside manner and he said to me.. "you don't have bad teeth, you probably do your dental work all at once and they offer to do the left side and then the right side" I nodded and finally felt seen for the first time in a dental chair. While wide eyed I managed to say "uh huh" he said "well they ended all that work on your right side, filed it up so much so your bite is off and of course you lost your left side. If you start with me today I can save your teeth. If you don't you will lose the other side. I didn't have the money at that point. I asked can I just get a bite guard. He said no that won't work. (This is how much integrity they have, knowing it was all I could afford they didn't try to bring me in and make me pay $500 for something that wasn't going to work. In all my years, I haven't found a dentist like that) I ended up moving to Arizona and when I did have the money, I could not find one dentist who could help me or listen to me. They all offered bite guards and acted like I didn't brush or floss my teeth enough. I am not joking I have seen everyone in this state and it doesn't matter how much I brush and floss it is my bite. Dr. Spodak wanted to truly save my teeth out of 43 dentists. I've seen he was the only one to offer suggestions on how to save them. Unfortunately other dentists don't want to prevent they only want to fix. If I could go back I would have stayed in Delray and kept going to Dr Spodak. I don't know if he is still practicing but I am seriously thinking of flying out there just for a visit.

The new people have provided me wrong copayment information, have not done what they said they would do and told me my refund was being mailed, when it has not been. Xavia is not easy to deal with, has a condescending attitude with patients and actually had the audacity to tell me that "that is why he is the owner", when 3 weeks ago I indicated it is not fair for patients to be made to wait for responses regarding over payments because the owner/dentist only works one day a week. Not an appropriate response, in my opinion. Given I have had to chase refunds from this office twice now, I will not be paying for services upfront. Will wait for EOB to do so; and if not able to, then I guess I will be looking for a new dentist. I have left messages asking for either the owner or my treating dentist to call me, and nothing. I guess they are not interested in knowing what their patients are going through. This has really left a bad taste in my mouth. Would have never happened with Amy. I had just switched TO that office from another that was equally as bad for different reasons - why is it so difficult to find a dentist?? In March of 2023 I had to find another office because the one I was going to (and liked) no longer took my insurance. I tried an office - had a cleaning (the worst of my life) and an exam (the dentist never looked at me and simply listed thousands of dollars of necessary work). The search continues...... I needed a crown - went to Dr Bun at Tomalty and loved her - the crown is great! So I asked about a cleaning and, due to insurance, I had to wait 6 months (remember my last cleaning was awful). Sooooo - today I went. I arrived 10 minutes early and was taken back right on time only to be told that they needed to take xrays because that other place didn't send mine. I explained that I would not do that as I just had them 6 months ago and my insurance would certainly not pay again. The hygienist then said "can't you just pay 29.00 for another set? NO!!!! Why would I do that? Why didn't you call me to let me know they had not yet arrived? I then called the other place and they sent them to my phone but that took some time. The hygienist shoved that pick into my gums so far it hurt. I have NEVER had that happen. Then she proceeded to tell me that I needed a deep root cleaning - - ummmmmm I actually fell for that 18 months ago and did it and paid for it and then did cleanings every 3 months for a year. NO - I won't do that again. I was then told that they wouldn't do the cleaning today because that's not what I needed and insurance wouldn't pay based on my xrays - - I replied that insurance paid in March with the same xrays!!! They referred me to a periodondist - - - guess where - - in another branch of their own practice. Not Kosher!! The search continues - -
