Braden called me as soon as the inspection was over and added context to some of the comments in the report.

Purchasing a home for the first time is one of the most exciting times of your life. It's also one…read moreof the most stressful. I was referred to Indy Pro Inspection Company by my realtor and read many reviews before making the choice to go with them as picking an inspection company is no small decision. The initial call was pleasant and scheduling was done quickly. The red flags were there but I didn't see them. Derek (our inspector) came to the house we planned to purchase earlier than his scheduled time and was already done inspecting the roof on the house and garage when we got there. It was a warm summer day so he was happy to open every window and listen to all of my first time home buyer questions. He openly admitted he would not move appliances but from the issues we are having with the home now, I can clearly see he did not do his due diligence in inspecting the newly renovated house. Our upstairs full bathroom sink has been slow and clogged since before we moved in. It is unusable for my children. He must have only turned it on to run it for a moment because if the faucet is run for more than 10 seconds, it backs up into the sink. I'm not sure how this was missed as it does not show on his report. Our garbage disposal leaks and also was not found to be leaking during his inspection. There is no air vent visible in the kitchen (again, first time homebuyer... I did not think to look for one) but you would think the professional would have. ITS AN UNCOVERED HOLE BEHIND THE STOVE causing moisture build up. I knew he didn't move appliances but air vents are something I believe he should been looking for. The final issue (I've found so far): where the exhaust pipes come out of our furnace, there is a large hole left open directly into the crawlspace where rodents and air are able to come into the home. I'm grateful I found it now before it got cold outside in our Indiana winters but I have to pay to get it remedied as well. Though our inspector was very kind in answering questions, I could not in good conscience recommend them to other homebuyers due to these missed items.

Christopher was quick to respond to our request for an inspection of a house we had under contract…read moreout of state and was able to get out there in a reasonable timeframe. We had not seen the property in person, yet he was very honest in letting us know that the condition of the house did not warrant a full inspection, and stated that he did not want to charge us the amount of his original estimate. He did a thorough walkthrough with us by phone and clued us in on foundation cracks and moisture (potentially mold) issues that we would have otherwise been unaware of. He also provided high resolution images that helped us to see what was going on that the seller or contractors did not tell us about. Although we lost our earnest money deposit--as apparently Indiana law does not currently require sellers to be honest in their disclosures, we learned a big lesson and saved ourselves the headache of buying a house that was more of a lemon than we bargained for. We will definitely use Chris' expertise in the future and fully recommend him to the community.

My family could have died because of Cornerstone Inspection Services' negligence…read more We moved to Noblesville this past July and had Cornerstone Inspection inspect our new home before we bought it. We noticed a gas smell since the first day of walking through the utility room but no one said anything and when we received our inspection report and it didn't have anything about a gas leak, we trusted them and thought a little smell must be normal. In Nov 2024 our extended family said we should get it checked out. Centerpoint immediately detected 5-6 large leaks all over the utility room, locked the outside gas box and shut it off, leaving us with no heat or hot water for 2 days before we could have a plumber replace most of the gas lines in the utility room. The leak was so severe my family and I could have died if our house blew up. Not only did Cornerstone Inspection completely miss 5-6 severe gas leaks, when we reached asking for help with the bill, they went as low as they could go. First, they accused, and still accuse both large well-reputable plumbing companies in Noblesville of trying to sell us unnecessary and expensive repairs. The reality is, we had the 2 independent professional companies both agree with each other the same scope (quotes were $1500-2,200) I told both companies CIS accused them of trying to sell unnecessary fixes and they were rightly offended. One asked for CIS's name. Additionally, both companies had 4 plumbers (2 each with managers involved) speak into the proposals vs 1 CIS inspector and his plumber friend he refers to. By the way, his friend never even came in our house to assess anything before accusing these other companies. Second, CIS claims all the leaks occurred in the 60 day timeframe from when they inspected it to when we moved in. The previous owners did not have any gas line or other work done in the utility room in that timeframe. Both plumbing companies say there is no way all those leaks immediately came to be in that short timeframe and the one who we hired to replace the lines said it happened over a long period of time (years) due to improper original installation. Note: We learned CIS only use their noses to detect if there is a gas leak whereas there is a special gas detector tool Centerpoint uses that I'm sure they could invest in. To this day CIS will not budge. They accuse 2 companies of excessive selling and make a claim that is completely bogus to save themselves. They even quoted us multiple lines of their contract saying the inspection is not a warranty or guaranteed, etc. So, they're basically saying in their contract, if they get something wrong, they're off the hook, (including a $1500-2200 multiple gas leaks situation where a house could blow up.) To me that means, don't trust anything they say. And even more, if they can miss this magnitude of a gas leak, your family could be in grave danger if you use them. Stay away from CIS and pass this true event on to others.
