Kathy found me a truck the same day I called. I-5 Transport picked up my car in Portland, OR, and delivered it to San Diego, CA, in just two days, which was great! The trucking company itself wasn't the best at communicating changes during transport, but that was out of Kathy's control. I'd never done this before and after all the YouTube videos I watched from this one guy, and after the research I did, I didn't know what to expect other than a stressful process with things going wrong - but I need not have worried! So maybe this review will help you if you are thinking of car transport. I went through a broker - Montway, who did great but Diesel Auto Express is the star here and they did all the real work. I will be reviewing Montway separately. I booked about 2 1/2 weeks before I needed the car to be shipped. I gave the 5 day window, which was April 28th. Montway indicated that my credit card would not be charged until the driver/company was assigned and that's exactly what happened. A few days before the 28th, Montway contacted me that Diesel Auto Express would be my driver/company. Soon after that, a driver from DAE contacted me and said he'd be picking up my car on the 28th! That driver had to cancel on the day of pick up on the 28th and I thought, 'well here we go - just like that Youtube guy said about car transport nightmares!" However, a few hours later, another driver contacted me and it was back on for the 28th! Since I live in the WNC mountains, I met my driver at a big parking lot about 10 minutes from me. The whole process was smooth and professional. My driver was neatly dressed, personable, and professional. He took a lot of photos and didn't waste any time at all. Once that was done, I signed on his phone, and my car was ready to be loaded. I did not stay for the loading as the driver indicated it would take a while (it was a huge truck). I was a little nervous leaving before it was loaded but I also felt that my car was in good hands. My driver had said he would be transferring the car to a local driver in Oregon with DAE. He gave me an ETA of 7 days to arrive on May 5. The local driver contacted me on 5/4 - a day early! - and after an initial phone call, we texted back and forth a few times. He gave me an ETA of arrival and sure enough, he was there right on time! WOW! Though I didn't meet him face to face, he was super nice but also professional on the phone/text. Once he arrived at my son's house, it took him just a few minutes to unload my car. Fast and efficient. I had 96 pounds of various things in the cargo area of my Subaru and I was completely surprised that not a thing was out of place - not one thing had shifted! Even something I had placed on top of some boxes was still right where I put it. DANG! That's impressive. No dings or scratches or dents as far as I know - my son and daughter -in - law looked it over for me and we Facetimed while he was unloading it. The driver also took photos. My car arrived just as I left it! I would definitely recommend Diesel Auto Express. They communicated very well - they were nice but professional - and most of all they took very good care of my car.

Their rate for an enclosed trailer and my distance was $1249 (looking back I realized this was as a pretty low rate). First weeks goes by...nothing. Get a generic email update. Second week goes by...nothing. Get another generic update with little to no help. Contact the dispatcher. They promise me they'll find something soon. Third week goes by...STILL nothing. Same generic email and no help from dispatch. At this point I'm a little pissed because it should not have taken this long and clearly something was up. Well, as stated before, the rate they had me at was way way too low. The dispatcher admitted that it was, and told me carriers aren't paying attention to anything at or below $1,400. So they finally proceeded to raise the rate to attract a Carr- just kidding. Instead these AH told me they decided to hold it at $1399 instead of making it more attractive. That was the final straw. Not only do they half-a** their efforts to get you a carrier, they give you UNHELPFUL updates and leave you in the dark. This is so, so unacceptable!
