Over time my taste has changed - for a few years I had mochas, then for a few years I had lattes. Now I only drink black coffee. With black coffee, I have come to appreciate the complex, nuanced flavors of the coffee and the distinctions of different varietals. I also appreciate Pine Coffee as a site for social connection - it's wonderful to chat with people from all over the world who are passing through. I constantly witness people's reactions to this shop. People who know coffee generally are amazed that this shop exists in such a small town. People who are accustomed to mainstream coffee with lots of sugar, syrup, and cream are sometimes disappointed. I recommend beginning with a simple black drip coffee.
