I'm hoping it was just a bad night because it's one of our favorite restaurants. We got there early and had a cocktail in the back. The guy plying guitar and singing was excellent. We changed our reservation from 5 people to 4 people and Secondo said there's an opening at 8:15 instead of 8:30. We checked at 8:15 they said they'd call us soon. I went back in at 8:50 and the young girl at the front desk said they are almost ready and our reservation was for 8:30. I said it was actually changed to 8:15. She asked me if I can prove it. What? I said don't worry about me proving our reservation, do you have a table or not? We sat for a while before our waitress came over and whispered the specials. I went out into the lobby and took a picture of the specials to share with our table. The red wine came out way too warm. My pork chop special was dry and had little flavor. The waitress reached across the table and gave us desert menus in the middle of us eating our entrees. Rushing us out much? We also go to Secondo in the winter. Maybe when it's slower it's better. Seriously, this place deserves 0 stars. . Sat at the table top with my family outside because we didn't have reservations and no "regular tables" were available. We got treated like a second class citizens. Guess that's why it's Secondo. A bartender came by rather quickly with menus and asked for drink orders. She brought the drinks but never seen her mostly the rest of the night. A different bartender came by to take our order because we asked if we can place an order. The appetizers were taking a very long time to come so we asked for some bread. Finally the appetizers came out. We asked for bread a 4th time of any wait staff walking by. We finally got some bread. Now over the one hour mark I asked the 2nd bartender to check up on our food. He disappeared and then the first bartender came by to acknowledge we were waiting a long time. We learned that table service gets served food before "bar service". Wish we knew that from the start as we would have never stayed. With that, I asked if she could check if the food had actually been started. This is 1 hour, 40 min after arrival. As she leaves the food showed up. My wife could only take two bites of her food because it was so salty. My food was salty and didn't taste right. We were directed to seat ourselves at high top tables either inside or outside because we didn't have a reservation but could still get full menu. inside music was too loud so we went outside. Although menu prices are the same we received little to no attention and had to ask for bread and water. Waited over an hour for food because bar area service is secondary to dining room guests. Had an amazing meal here last night! The ambience is great, with an open air-type layout, huge picture windows overlooking the water, a spacious covered outdoor dining area, and lowlights with fun music. There's a large drink and food menu and a long list of specials, all of which sounded better than the last. I started with the "it's always honey in jersey" mule which had a unique twist - honey! Loved it! Our table split the roasted feta, which also is mixed with honey and is melted to perfection - especially yummy with their fresh made bread! My entree of choice was the sambuca scallop, pan seared to perfection and served over pappardelle in a creative fennel sauce. Also pictures is the eggplant pesto which was devoured in seconds! The desserts didn't seem to be made in house, so we opted against trying, but overall we were completely satisfied with the experience and the food was selectively. A below average review mostly because of the constant attitude from the hostess station, whether in person or on the telephone. On a Friday night (close to 830 PM), 3 of us walked in (without a reservation) and 50% of the tables were empty both inside and outside. The hostess dismissed me quickly stating they had all the tables booked. I kindly pointed out the amount of empty tables and said I would be happy to dine on a time schedule. She was completely unaccommodating. We live close by and we are in the area often. Dined there several times before, food is decent, atmosphere is great, but I will not be returning. read more

Reservation for 815 we waited 30min to be seated. Bar was not crowded but waited 10min to place an order. Server was great. Mozzarella frita was amazing calamari was over cooked. Took over an hour to get our meals. My daughter ordered Pizza and it arrived soggy in the middle. Rigatoni alle vodka was bland, chicken parm with penne was over cooked tomato sauce was nasty and my mahi mahi was under cooked,rice over cooked and bland. We had reservations this evening for 7:45. Restaurant entranceway was filled with disgruntled diners waiting to be seated. Everyone had reservations. This is not the first time this has happened. Don't go unless you are willing to wait over an hour to be seated and served. We went to Coastal Blue and were seated and served immediately. Fabulous dinner! We have eaten here five times. We have had good, great and not so good meals. Very inconsistent food even if you return and order the same dish again. Recently went on a Saturday night a table of 6. My dish that I had prior was unfortunately inedible. It was linguine with clam sauce. Came out in a clumpy mess and was so greasy, I couldn't stomach it. Not like that the last couple times I had it. 3 others had chicken parmigiana and the chicken was burnt and hard. Tough chicken with cold pasta. Another had a fish special which she said was very good. Portions are always a good size, but only issue was no one wanted leftovers. I'm so disappointed because the first time back when Secondo opened 4 months ago,we were so excited to have a new place nearby that was good. The owner was on premises, greeting at the door. Please we want you to succeed but there is no way you will unless someone is watching what is being served. My review has gone down from a four star to a 3. If I was rating in Northern Jersey it would be a 2 rating but 3 for this area. read more

Very good focaccia and oil for the table. Appetizers were smaller than expected, but tasty. Entrees were all delicious. Dessert was delicious as well. Service was good - we had a table of 6 adults, 2 kids, and 1 high chair at 5pm on a Wednesday. At one point, one of the kids dropped their fork. Within a minute, an employee arrived with a tray of replacement silverware simply because they heard the noise. That was impressive. The store was unable to process a pre paid AmEx card ($100 value). Management was quite aloof when planning a 30 person party we had there this weekend. Over the past two months reserving the date and time and planning a menu with a non committal manager was like pulling teeth. I could understand why she would never say what part of the restaurant she was going To put us in (24) people. They squashed us into a corner and once 24 people were seated we were in the laps of two other tables of four with no room to get through to go to the rest room. They finally moved the two tables of four and we could move around to exit the room that faces the bay. So thousands of $s later a very hard working waitress and a running staff delivered three ok courses. I always wonder when dining out in NewJersey if we were part of RHONJ show would we get treated better...?? As for the ambiance the noise and choice of seating done by management could have been better there was a full length room with fire pit views I thought we would be put at but those tables were saved for the real new jersyans not the NYers. read more

Really disappointed in this once very good restaurant. Seems the portions have gotten significantly smaller and the prices higher. A prime example was the "Sunday Gravy" entree that was scaled down with diced pieces of pork instead of a nice rib or slice. Very little meat overall. The breaded tomato was listed as an appetizer with "crabmeat" ... none to be found unless you used a microscope. My favorite part about this restaurant is the tucked away quiet dining experience it offers. The food is phenomenal with great portions for the price. Terrific dinner, great menu with incredible specials that will make your head spin on wanting several things! The octopus was so tender, delicious vegetable based soup, Greek platter and monk fish dinner! We love when a wait staff asks before just pouring water if we want sparkling...of course we do with limes please! Perfect grey goose martinis with NO vermouth and asked if we wanted our olives with blue cheese....perfect waitress!! Miranda was a gem to have for our table! We will be sure to ask for her again! We lucked out with the rain stopping a guy playing his guitar and singing, he was good too. Watching the sunset and thankfully someone else canceled their reservations so we could jump in. Really had high hopes for Secondo, but it just didn't live up to expectations, in neither food nor service. We had reservations for two at 6:30 for our anniversary, we finally sat down at 6:50 (not horrible). When the waitress got to us, we ordered 2 of the same drinks, one soup, one stuffed artichoke app and two Sunday Dinners.... So...my wife's drink arrived and mine didn't. Things happen, but despite multiple follow ups (and watching tables around us getting served multiple rounds of drinks), it took 25 more minutes to finally get my original drink. Not good. The soup was way over salted and the stuffed artichoke had very little 'meat' on the petals... and... THE CHOKE WAS LEFT IN (an "Italian Cooking 101" major no-no)! What salvaged a bad experience was a better than average large Sunday dinner entree with ample meats and a tasty gravy. At some point in the night, there was a manager (or someone?) walking around asking tables how they were enjoying their dinners....the funny part was that she wasn't waiting long enough for people to answer before moving on to the next table. It's as if a book said it was a good idea to check in with customers, but, much like a lot at Secondo, there wasn't much real substance or caring behind it...like everyone was out of sync and just going through the motions. Food is great as always. We've ordered takeout 3 times this summer, all excellent. Decided to dine last night as I liked seeing the dining tents near the water edge. Bad decision. Service was very slow. Took 15 minutes for our waitress to take our drink order. It took an hour and 10 minutes for our entrees to arrive. BTW - my entree was incorrect, however, still a great meal and I enjoyed thoroughly. Passed on dessert. Gave my card to pay, still took 12 minutes for our waitress to bring me the bill to sign. I totally understand the stress Covid-19 has played on small business owners and want to support their establishments, but I'm not interested in waiting. Either you're short on wait staff, kitchen help or both. Regardless, you cannot expect your customers to wait 70 minutes for pasta. read more

My partner and I always go there and we abosolutely love it! The service is awesome, friendly, and the food is to die for. Tonight we went there and I got a 40oz tomahawk steak which was listed under their specials. The prices were not listed on their specials. I ordered the 40oz tomahawk steak blindly without knowing the price thinking it would be less than $100 (since it was one the specials menu) . When I got my steak, a good portion of it was bone and fat, all pieces that I would not/could not eat. I finished all that was edible. When we got our check, it was $145 for the steak alone....and for what I got and ate, I was not pleased. In the future, I hope they list prices for everything even when on the "special" menu. Service was still great, but for what I was charged, I was not satisfied nor happy. read more

We come here every time we are in Wildwood! The outdoor dining area is just perfect with the fire and sunset! Drinks, apps and food were absolutely delicious and the service was excellent, especially the hostesses. Our waiter Billy was fabulous and attentive. Yikes this place belongs next to a tuna factory (ironically it is lol)... my wife and I went there to enjoy a nice evening out. First the restaurant overbooked and our table was not ready for about 20 mins after our reservation... 2nd I ordered the special and about 15 mins after no food had come out I was told the restaurant was out of the special that I had ordered. 3rd and final my wife and I had brought a visa gift card that we were gifted to the evening and our waiter told us he could only accept an other form of payment and took another form of payment that was also vida instead (credit/debit card). When we questioned the waiter he told us management said it was better to use those "visa gift cards" in retail.... Confusing that a visa debit/credit card would be any different or better than a visa gift card in restaurant vs retail. The bartender was great but the restaurant service was less than subpar. Made reservations and we were seated right on time . Had a drink at the bar because we were early. 2 appetizers the feta and fig melted with honey, the best! The spanakopita was good a little dry but drizzled some feta and fig melt over it , great. Entrees were a some kind of meat pizza for my sister , she like it. I had the Salmon special with Broccoli and mashed potatoes. Fish was very tasty . the broccoli a little black on the edges but not soft so good . Potatoes were too watery underneath the salmon. I would not recommend patronizing this restaurant as the owners are disrespectful, racist bigots. Me and my family were treated like garbage when arriving at this establishment while on vacation for an early evening reservation because we had an infant in a stroller and are Latinos. The owner was rude and disrespectful, yelled at us, and told us she didn't need our business. It all started because we had arrived for a 5:30pm reservation with our family, including my 6 month old son who does not sit yet. His UppaBaby infant car seat was docked in the "stroller" base and has about the same foot print of a restaurant high chair. As we walked in a lady very rudely and angrily said, "you cannot bring that stroller in here! It's a fire hazard." We were taken aback at how rude and with how much of a nasty attitude we were being spoken to in. So we asked what we could do. The lady said well we can put him in a high chair to which I said, "oh he doesn't sit upright yet" to which she replied, "well then I can't accommodate you." My father in law got very upset since he's been a loyal customer of their original location for many years, and said, "you don't need to have that attitude" at which point the lady began to scream at him in a very loud voice in front of the entire restaurant! He asked her if she was the owner to which she relied "yes" which of course was even more appalling to us. Due to the disrespect we were receiving we told them we would be leaving the which she responded she didn't need our business. She then said "I'm tired of people like you." To which I asked her to clarify, since it was obvious she was referring to our Latino ethnicity. On our way out she said "good-bye multiple times in a mocking tone to us. I have been to many restaurants where an infant in a stroller is not a problem... Many restaurants are very accommodating and having him in there would've allowed me to rock him in place while I tried to have a nice dinner and not have to hold him. Very Rude Management, be sure to see other reviews stating the same. We made reservations for 2 tables weeks in advance since we were traveling with adults and teenagers. We confirmed 2 tables the day before. Upon arrival the manager refused to honor the reservation and she chastised us saying "why would you want 2 tables?
