In reading some of the previous reviews of Second Side Yoga, I feel silly in not knowing this place existed until this past weekend. I am a Pilates girl, and I am still intimidated by yoga, but man, I always love it. I saw a posting for a reiki/sound bath/stretching event this past Sunday. It was a $30 drop in event. I swung by Sunday for the event. Parking was a little challenging, but I circled around and found parking on the street up a bit. The studio is small-ish. There are cubbies near the door. Don't make a rookie mistake: always take your shoes off before stepping on the yoga floor. I was greeted by the instructor, Gillian, which low and behold I had taken a class of hers earlier in 2025! The studio is also heated, and at first I was thinking I'm not going to be able to stand this, but it didn't take long to feel comfortable once I rolled out my yoga mat and got comfy. This event taught me that heated stretching is awesome. I felt so nice after the class. I will definitely check the schedule and try to attend more classes and maybe build some more muscles that I don't get to in Pilates alone. I highly recommend checking out this studio! read more

I had a few days in Dallas and I wanted to go to a few classes while I was here. Second side is absolutely amazing! I will definitely say that Dallas has a really great Yoga community over all. But out of all the studios, second side is very social, very hands on all of instructors are so personable, and so helpful! When I tell you that I have not felt this challenged in my practice in a long time, it's a great thing to say! Dana was absolutely outstanding! Her classes are physical, challenging, and playful! I also had a couple classes with Aaron, he was so wonderful. He brought a great sense of spirituality to the practice, which is always necessary. Whenever I'm back in Dallas I cannot wait to return to the studio. The hot classes are hot enough to cleanse and benefit from while still remaining comfortable and healthy. Classes for drop ins are $30. If you are a new student and you want to try it out for a week you can have the entire week of unlimited classes for $30! It just makes sense. read more

I started going to second side a week and a half ago, shortly after moving to Dallas. I was looking for a yoga studio that I could really call home, where I could build community and deepen my practice after 15+ years of yoga-dabbling. After perusing second side's website, I had a really good feeling about it and decided to go for a Friday morning Dynamic Vinyasa class with a new student week pass. My class was with Jenn and I got really lucky to be the only student in class that morning, effectively getting a private yoga session! Jenn was so warm and welcoming and made it much less intimidating for me, being new to the studio and to the city. She really personalized the practice to me and was so validating. I continued coming to classes throughout the week, exploring the range of offerings including Precision Vinyasa with Jonas and Relaxing Yoga & Sound Bath with Sallie. I also joined the potluck happening that week. Everyone was so friendly and made me feel like part of the community right away. Even the classes that were beyond my skill level were welcoming and inspired me with many things to strive for as I build skill. I have already been crushing goals and feeling more centered thanks to my practice here! The studio itself is clean, comfortable, and minimal which is exactly what I look for. The classes are heated--just a heads up as I didn't realize this when I first showed up (bring towels)! I love that people hang out and chat after class, play on the rings and wall bars, and congregate in the kitchen space. I could barely stay away from the studio and just got a monthly pass. I am excited to deepen my yoga practice and feel this is the perfect place to do it with great community and support. I'm so incredibly lucky to have found second side! read more

I moved to Texas two years ago and after visiting a few studios, I found my yoga home at Second Side. Although it's 30 miles away from where I live, I drive here twice a week and feel more connected to myself and to others than any other place I've practiced. Jonas and the community he has built here care about the people, celebrating each other's progress and having fun. I initially came here to advance my own physical practice, but I ended up with friends helping me reach new levels of growth while being kind to myself and to others, knowing it's a journey we share together. I was also fortunate to attend Jonas' Yoga Retreat which was rejuvenating and rewarding to say the least. I highly recommend this studio for anyone who wants to take their practice to the next level and connect with other like-minded people. read more

I wanted to give a review about Jonas for many reasons. I think he does several things exceptionally well as my yoga instructor. He's extremely patient and informative, yet he challenges you every class. And I'm not talking one student once a class. I've watched him challenge us all individually EVERY class. I notice he does this by constantly walking and instructing. Making small corrections for a better posture and fully supporting you in a pose that you would never attempt without him. This detail of attention to all of us leaves you on a high of achievement after class. That you didn't just show up for a great time, but that you did something you've never done before. The only con is that sometimes you feel like you can easily take advantage of his kindness. Jonas would stay and help you with a pose after class as long as you needed him. Jonas has a big heart and cares deeply for his students. I've been taught by him and taught with him over the past year, and he is committed to their growth and to his own growth as a teacher. He listens to feedback from his students and adapts to their needs, which I think is a great quality in a teacher. He has a warm, laid-back attitude in his class i.e. its not stuffy or snobby. His classes are great for all levels because he will queue from the foundation of a pose to the more advanced stages. He also offers great verbal and physical adjustments to help you understand where your body should be in a pose. You will always get pushed to the edge but never forced. Jonas was my first yoga experience and it was absolutely incredible - singlehandedly convinced me to definitely pick up yoga. I had no idea it was such an incredible workout in every single way - upper body strength, core, flexibility...insane. Feels amazing afterwards, and is so calm and tranquil and relaxing once you finish. Hands down, if you ever get the chance to do yoga with Jonas - don't even think about it. Just do it. Seriously. Immediate Warmth, Ahimsa, from Jonas upon Meeting him at the new studio. We attended the Acro class and the space was just freshly done. We even got to take the new mats out of the boxes and help put them together. The people, ohhhhhhh the people, heart centric overload! Amazing. Attended the opening with my Acro Girl Friends on Friday and everyone I met was just beaming. It was a collision of all these other studios and small worlds of who had practiced where and wow the influences of practices from others. Just collided. So happy for this space. The community will continue to flourish because we know you cannot get to the top alone and the backing of people that are side by side at second side are going to take over DFW and bring tradition back to Practice and the Ego of studio mindsets that have been of late, will either keep the people that are not on the same page, or the vision of Jonas and this team will win them over with kindness. I practice yoga with Jonas at least once a week and never felt better! It's a challenging class with a variety of poses and arm balances that leaves me with the satisfaction of having pushed myself. Jonas is a great instructor providing guidance and even humor release. His students tend to consist of yogis who enjoy pushing themselves. I would suggest this class to anyone who enjoy yoga and especially to those who might want to take their practice further. read more

Jonas is one of my favorite yoga teachers. His classes are both fun and challenging, and he's always actively teaching you, not just telling what to do. Whether you are a novice (like me) or a cirque de soleil experienced yogi, you'll learn a lot (you can tell by the amount of super experienced yogis that take his classes). He always shows 3 ways to do the pose or the flows, so everybody in the class can go at their own pace and be challenged at the same time. He makes sure that your form is correct at all time, coming from the rehab world, I know the importance of good form, and he understands how the human body functions and corrects every movement, making sure that nobody gets injured. He will also push you and help you to try new poses and improve your practice. You'll have an amazing work out and leave feeling peaceful. His music is pretty cool too, lots of bosa nova and modern tango mixed with more traditional yoga music. Whether you are taking a beginner's class in his private studio or a big flow class in a big studio, he will always find time to pay attention to every student, and to make you feel comfortable and welcome. I've been to dozens of studios nationally and this is hands down the best I've come across. Jonas is a true professional and an incredible teacher. Jonas is by far the best yoga teacher I've found in Dallas. I grew to love yoga when I was living in DC and came back disappointed to not find a yoga home here in Dallas... until I found Jonas. He somehow pushes every student to grow no matter what levels are represented in the class. I like to be challenged in yoga and this is one of the only places I've found that actually accomplishes that. In addition to his excellent teaching style/abilities, this is one of the most welcoming yoga studios I've ever been to. Teachers almost always come introduce themselves to a new student, but at Yoga with Jonas, even the students come to introduce themselves. If this doesn't happen naturally, Jonas will start introducing people. I've practiced with at least 30 instructors in Dallas, but Jonas is far and away my favorite one. He is challenging but is still accessible to beginners. He's the kind of teacher that develops a following because he exudes warmth, love, humor and kindness, he's straightforward and open, and he creates a playful tone in his classes where you can push yourself hard, fall out of poses, and laugh along with the person next to you about it. He takes the intimidation factor out while still being PHENOMENALLY good at yoga. I cannot say enough about how great of an instructor Jonas is. His classes are fun, challenging, and addicting! Jonas is very knowledgable and passionate about yoga and this shines through in his teaching. You can also tell that he puts a lot of time and thought into his classes because they are always different and interesting. One of my pet peeves in yoga is that so many instructors teach the same flow every week and it can get boring, but not the case with Jonas. I also love that he challenges you to try your hardest and go for a pose, even if it seems out of your reach. It makes you realize that your body can do much more than you think! I have practiced yoga on and off over the years, but after being introduced to Jonas' classes at Super Yoga Palace, I was hooked and have since practiced regularly.
