    That's a meal!

Second District Brewing, Philadelphia, PA. Different Cheesesteak'esque sandwich #1260. Spoiler alert: I have determined this to be a vegan cheesesteak. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about my visit to Second District Brewing. I love the building, decor, and eating spaces. They were slow (sorry for them, but happy for me), so I got to ask Curt a lot of questions. He knew every answer. I saw a deep-fried oyster mushroom sandwich on the menu. I saw Second District made beer cheese on the menu. I asked Curt if they could put them together for me. He said yes. We decided beer cheese on the side was best. They were tasty, separate, and together. I enjoyed my beer. Bonus bathroom video.

Stopped in for a happy hour afternoon drink and snack. Cool decor with a nice big bar and some tables to sit at. Also a back room with more tables. Draft menu has about a dozen house brews, as well as other options. Food menu has lots of handhelds / sandwiches. Smash burg was tasty and a nice deal for happy hour. Thanks

It's a nice place to hang out with friends and enjoying good beer. It has a rustic ambiance from the exposed bricks. I had beet salad, it's good with good amount of yellow beets. My husband had tuna hoagie, it was salty.

This brewery has super cool decor. We found it on a walk after scarfing down some happy hour bites. We chose to go with flights so we could try a good portion of the tap list. My favorite was the helles

Stopped here for a bite and a drink with my brother and his family on a Sunday afternoon. We were able to get a table and sit by a big picture glass window. We all ordered sandwiches and ordered a beer. I ordered a tofu sandwich, my daughter a pork shortie. Burgers were also ordered at the table and we were able to share and scarf down 3 baskets of fries. When trying to decide what beer to order we were offered tastings that helped us decide. The food and drinks were good as well as atmosphere. This is a decent place to share drinks and food with friends!

Gotta get my lil buddy city wide (pale ale and a shot of whiskey) and smash burger. Service is always really friendly and they even have smaller 4oz pours if you're trying beers. They have a friendly cat Winnie that wanders around too.

The drafts are pretty good beer and good pricing. Good outdoor seating and cute lights on the stairs. Only interacted with my waitress and she was great!

The really good chicken fingers devours come from @seconddistrictbrewing . These chicken fingers are literally MADE TO ORDER! These chicken finger were sooo fresh and simply delicious. While here i also I had a Mutual Dream which was very delicious and wasn't too heavy. It had a really sweet taste and didn't have any bad aftertaste. Have you ever find yourself wanting to have some really fresh fried foods please check out @seconddistrictbrewing and of course, let them know who sent you. #food #foodie #foodblogger #foodphotography #philadelphia #philly #chicken #water #beer #sixers #sixersnation #playoffs #hotsauce #honey

Great beers great chicken fingers and artichoke! Polite staff and charming little stop in Philly

Cool vintage pieces behind the bar and reclaimed wood look. Ambiance was nice here.

Ambiance wise they have a nice set up here. Lots of reclaimed wood, vintage mirrors and signage surround you. Small side kitchen. On-street parking was found not too far away and there seemed to be a whole lot of auto repair joints in the area. Beer wise the offering was average, multiple styles were offered which was nice and everything from the taps to the glassware was clean. The service for being a bit dead at lunch time was underwhelming. The bartender pretty much ignored me, kept to her phone and when her girlfriends arrived she found her conversation voice. I had an empty glass and was never asked if I wanted another beer. I got more of a move on vibe from the bartender, so I did. I felt very unwelcomed. The cook served me up dry, over cooked wings with old white carrots and curly fries. The curly fries were actually good, the side sauces for the wings were Franks Red Hot and what looked like Bullseye BBQ. Overall the value wasn't there and in this neck of the woods there are better options. I hope as this young brewery grows they improve. I will return to give them a second chance.

I was visiting Philadelphia for a weekend and got a recommendation to head to South Philly & East Passyunk. Definitely glad that we did. Loved the fried tofu sandwich. The bread was very soft and good. It had a gochujang aioli which was delicious. It was all complemented perfectly with some zuccini pickles that were a nice addition. Very cool atmosphere as well and super friendly servers. High recommend.

One of the nicest little Hangouts in South Philly. Beer is good but honestly aesthetically the place is great, It's got a good feel to it.

Hipster city. The food options are small but they were decent. The crowd is a gentrified hipster nightmare.

Worth stopping by if you're in the West Village! Food: 4 Drinks: 5 Service: 4 Value: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Food: Surprisingly good. We shared the chicken quesadilla. It was filled to the filled to the brim and delicious. They cooked it perfectly with the edges getting extra crispy like a tortilla chip. I didn't have high expectations for a place thats primarily a bar, but this blew me away all things considered. Drinks: Best taproom in the city. 20+ premium options. They have an awesome selection of beers, including some local options. They have wine and liquor too, but you should focus on the beer. This is the place to go for a good draught. Service: Servers are friendly and down to earth. They're great at suggesting different beers. Value: Not cheap, but not bad. Beers are $8-10 (pretty much market price in the West Village) and food is a decent bargain given how much food you get. Atmosphere: Its a cross between an old school pub and a sports bar. Its dark and 90% male (my wife always comments on how male heavy it is) but I think it has a good vibe. Good beer, good food options, and friendly servers.

The crowd is pretty young, but as a mid-40s, I don't feel out of place. The bartenders are knowledgable and always helpful in making decisions. Why they didn't get 5-stars: This is actually a 4.5-star place and only gets dinged 1/2 star is that is can be hard to get a table or a spot to be. It's a very small venue, so be prepared to stand around a bit. That's it, great beers, good vibes, still a great spot!!!

Started off with the bartender giving me the stink eye and some lip about asking to sample their many micro-brews - I asked for one sample, it wasn't very good. The bartender's negative attitude made me uncomfortable asking for a second sample. Despite my trepidation and because they had as many as 19 different beers on tap, I asked for a second sample, which caused the bartender to frown at me and 'cut me off at 2.' I responded as positively as I could, accepted the second sample which I also did not enjoy, and took a random shot at a pint of a third beer which also wasn't great. Food was meh. As I now see has been noted in another review, the fried pickles had too much dough and way, way too much grease in them, which likely was the cause of me visiting the toilet a bunch in the morning. The pretzel was a hot pretzel, I don't agree with their choice of mustard as whole grain mustard can be difficult to spread on a hot pretzel but hey that's me. I understand that on Saturday nights people like to cut loose, but no one seemed to ask the women literally screaming with laughter to keep it down at the party in the corner, so this place gets low marks for very loud customers. I mean really there has to be a line somewhere and this was over it. The other bartender was almost apologetically polite when I asked for the check, kind of a good-cop/bad-cop thing going on there. If I wanted that experience I'd get arrested not visit a local bar. You only have one chance at a first impression.
