It's always a plus when staff make sure they acknowledge your presence with a nice greeting. Was it seeing the same exact cheese slicer that I just bought off Amazon last week? Well, a bit maddening but not really it. It was finding two cookbooks my wife and I haven't seen anywhere else. For my wife it was the kind she'd been looking for, a muffin cookbook, Do You Know The Muffin Pan? (what a great title) with a wide range of creative and original ideas spanning savory to sweet, from appetizers to dessert. For me it was finding a Mexican cookbook I didn't know I needed. Now, I've been a Danny Trejo fan a long time. Seen him in the movies and on TV. I knew he owned a popular Mexican restaurant in L.A. because he's guest judged on numerous TV cooking competition shows. But finding his cookbook, Trejo's Tacos, just gave me all the recipes I've always wanted but have never seen anywhere else--at least the way his restaurant prepares them. So, for the joyful experience of culinary discovery alone this store merits five stars. I want to give these folks a super shoutout…read more This holiday season hasn't felt very festive, but my daughter discovered the 'make tour own wreath' area here at the Garden Center. She took me here fir a mom and daughter date after work ten days ago. There were two crimping stations and several different sizes fir wreaths and swags. You pick your size and then you get to select from dozens of types of greens, cones, branches and more to build a custom wreath. I thought it would be harder than it was. Once you get started, it quickly becomes easier. The tough part is deciding what you want your wreath to look like. Good thing there are several examples to provide inspiration. The stations are in a covered outside area and masks were required. Heaters would help, but they are in such short supply. You can also bring i to your own snacks and beverages but we didn't know that. Next time we will! This was a great experience on all levels and now I have a beautiful unique wreath that is LESS expensive than the undecorated ones you can pick up at a home improvement store or a grocery store. Loved this!

It's a sort of place that's fun and small enough to allow you to examine everything they have. To boot, the owners, Gary and his wife Hannah are wonderful people. If you have the time and you're there, when Gary is manning the store, he will share knowledge and history of the Lakota Tribe. I love going in here! Last time I purchased a Lakota warrior breast plate made by Gary himself. It's just beautiful.
