    Cute store

So I heard about this place on Trip Advisor...things to do on Whidbey Island. When I put it in the GPS, it took us to the actual farm...which is closed. The owner was outside working and she explained to us that the gardens had been down about 2 years, and that she was working feverishly to get them going again, but it was her on her own. She let us know that the shop was actually down on 1st Street and she called the lady working to make sure she was still there (since they were closing). She let us know that if no one was there, she would come down herself and open the shop. We thanked her and drove down to the main shop. The main shop was not what I expected, it was very small, (a little hard to manuever with crutches), but it smelled INCREDIBLE when we walked thru the door. I thought it was going to be a chocolate store (like a candy store), with other chocolate specialty items, a fun place for kids....but it was definitely more of a grown up shop. There were amazing candles, flowers galore, it felt more antique style to me. The lady working was very welcoming, asked if we had come down from the farm, and asked if there was anything she could do for us. More people entered the shop making it much too difficult for me and my crutches, so we started to leave. As we were walking out, I noticed some chocolate tea, that claimed to taste like a Frango. My daughter that wasn't with us LOVES tea, so I decided to pick up a pack. The lady at the register said it was on the house. The owner had called and felt bad that the farm was not open for us to visit. My 5 stars are definitely for the owner, her generosity, the lovely lady working there, and the insanely incredible chocolate smell when you walk in. I'm not a big chocolate person... I prefer candy...and I usually don't like chocolate scented candles, etc. But this place is truly amazing. They did have a small plate of fudge, and some jams. Lovely little store in a lovely little town!

After getting home, I realized the scents of the candles did not match the labels on the lids. I reached out to ask about a return or exchange from other warehouse sale inventory, but was informed that neither option was available. The company did provide wax melts in the scent I had intended to purchase, which I appreciated. However, I would have preferred the option to exchange the candles themselves. Sharing my experience so others can factor this in when shopping.

I love everything about this company and made the swap from bath and body works to this company. While the price is a bit higher, I love that you are able to buy refill kits making it eco friendly. Now let's talk about the candles! Not only are they unique, but they smell oh so amazing! I love gifting these for friends to celebrate special occasions or just because they need a little pick me up. My favorite scents are the fall and winter scents. They leave your house smelling clean with that cozy and comfort feeling of relaxation. I always have a sage and sea salt candle and refill because ain't nobody got time for negative energy or bad vibes in their house. Highly recommend shiplap orchard, pumpkin spice latte, sugared cranberry, sugared pine, and Yule scents. For those who are sensitive to smells these are not overwhelming where you get a headache, but strong enough to enjoy them. These candles actually last a long time before having to refill them or swap them out. I also recommend their wax melts as they also last a good amount of burn time. Overall, I would say you get your monies worth. The quality is amazing, scents are great, and the presentation is perfection. You can purchase these products from in store, website, or even amazon! I can't say enough fabulous things about this company and highly recommend checking them out and supporting this veteran business!

Such a fun experience to try in Seattle!…read more The staff were outstanding, with Mikey in particular going above and beyond! He made the whole process a blast, walking us through each step with energy and enthusiasm that kept things fun and easy to follow. Even while assisting multiple guests at once, he made sure we always felt supported and never left waiting. Once you're familiar with the process, you'll select a vessel and explore 30+ scent options displayed along a scent wall. The team helps you discover which fragrances blend well together to create your ideal combination. This is where Mikey's expertise really shined! He suggested scents I hadn't considered, and they worked beautifully with my favorite scents. After creating your perfect scent ratio, the oils are blended into wax, and left to set for 2-3 hours. Prices were comparable to other handmade candles you find at farmers markets, plus ELM uses a coconut apricot wax. Be sure to book a reservation, they fill up quick!

I know Elm Candle through work and remembered some of my work colleagues coming here to do a team bonding event. My girl friend was turning 30 and said she would be doing a birthday activity here! Our scent specialist, Mikey was super helpful! They had everything prepared for our ladies to partake in the session and the instructions were on the card which was super cute since it also had a 'Thank You' at the back in support of their small business. You put your name and select which item you want to make. I chose a room spray since I have SO MANY candles at home! Mikey had us choose which container (room spray only had one kind) but candles had a variety. I wanted to make the reed diffuser initially but they were sold out! Next, they had a variety of scents on the wall so you could write those on your card and star your faves! Coffee beans were provided to help with your nose since you smell so many scents! Mikey was so patient with all of us and walked us through the process! I was super pleased with my scents. He evaluated each of our cards, asked us what kinds of scents we are into, and then gathered 3-4 essential oils to smell -- you can mix and match. You can omit one or add another depending on your preferences. We left with cute little bags! It was such a wonderful experience! It's a little pricey but definitely worth it.

We found what we needed there to help our wee doggie get through a respiratory issue comfortably…read more A naturopathic syrup formula of Slippery Elm, Marshmallow Root and unheated raw honey soothed his cough by the second dosing (3x's per day) and symptoms went completely away in two days. However we continued for one more day and he has had no relapse. That said, not all pet illnesses or discomfort can be cured with herbal formulas and so we do not disregard seeing his veterinarian for a diagnosis for anything alarming or persistent and he is vaccinated. However, we do support and enhance positive health, his and ours, through diet first which can include health enhancing formulas which I prefer to make myself rather than trusting formulas that are not regulated and can contain whatever ingredients profiteers without consciences want to put in them. Was thrilled to find such an apothecary in the Seattle metro because it allows me to know exactly what I gave my sweet doggie during his discomfort and I can obtain formulas or make them myself to support our family's health as needed.
