As a person that loves to decorate and loves a bargain even more, At Home has some great options…read morefor home decoration at super reasonable prices. I love Marshall's and TJ Maxx and At Home tends to run a little cheaper but the quality is still great. My favorite part is their candle aisle! An entire aisle dedicated to candles and organized by their regular and then seasonal candles. There are plenty of clearance sections too!!!!

"At Home" was advertised on Pandora radio during summer. As a homeowner, I wanted to see what this…read moresuperstore was about yet didn't have a chance to do so. Well, I should say I wasn't really eager to travel to a brick-and-mortar store since online shopping for home is more convenient, and often times, cheaper without having to leave the comfort of my own residence. The first impression I had was how similar it was to "HomeGoods," except it was a larger space. There were Christmas trees and decorations near the entrance, three (3) aisles of chairs I saw next, and planters, gardening essentials, poufs and ottomans against the walls. I then spotted some sofas, loveseats, and outdoor furniture toward the back of venue. I then walked through the rug and carpet department. It was quite disorganized. Items were picked over and placed on the floor instead of getting put back on the shelves. Well, this phenomenon was often seen in many retail stores post-holidays or on the weekends. I wasn't shocked, but I knew perhaps the associates and managers there could do a better job on maintaining the best visual. In addition, I noticed some items were damaged or having minor defects. Hubby and I were looking for a planning board with the days of week that we could write on daily activities or meal-prep-related messages. The one we originally wanted to purchase had a broken hook. Fortunately, we spotted another style on the other side. With that being said, conduct detailed quality check before you commit on buying anything at the store. Many tables already had scratches, dents, or uneven legs. I guess we would meet these damaged goods pretty soon at Marshall's, TJ Maxx, or HomeGoods with deeper discounts? No se, pero "we shall see!" The trip to "At Home" wasn't exactly a waste, even though I did have to admit the prices weren't exactly the lowest one could find. This is the year of 2018. E-commerce is now the sh*t. Therefore, I would certainly encourage you all to do more web browsing before cruising on the road.

Upon walking in, you see tons off different boutiques sectioned off into different areas. There are handcrafted crafts and gifts from all different vendors, and no matter who you are, you're bound to find something you like, including candles, clothes, sports, food, jewelry, home decor, etc. Prices vary by product and vendor, so of course some vendors will be more expensive than others. Some even sell name-brands like Marc Jacobs. For the most part, I think prices were pretty fair! Not only were the products great, but so were the workers. One of the men who was stocking found out that I love penguins, so he was showing me penguin-themed items. He was nice, and we all kept laughing. Also, when we were checking out, both cashiers were extremely personable. One checked us out, and the other wrapped some of the more fragile items, which I appreciated. The cashier who checked us out absolutely loved us and had a great conversation with us about how we all had so much in common with her. When it comes to location, the building is within a strip mall, and they have tons of parking and other popular shops around. Overall, my friends and I all said we would for sure return to the store! Apparently, vendors normally update their booths every few weeks unless they're out of state, so we will definitely come back soon to see the new stock. Since it is Christmas time, the store was FULL of Christmas and holiday decor. I loved the atmosphere because of this! There were a few bare booths where no vendors were anymore, so it seems as though a couple of vendors left. *If you're an entrepreneur, I'd definitely look into a booth here!*

For…read moremy home in Niles, Mike installed five glacier white, translucent honeycomb cordless cellular shades in the bay window. The functionality, quality of workmanship, materials, and warranty were excellent. Plus - the top down, bottom up option is especially valuable for privacy when trying to maximize the quality of light for the room. Therefore, I hired Mike to install the same translucent cordless honeycomb shades (Enlightened Style) in the large front window at my home in Norridge. They are being used on three windows at the front of the house. For two bedroom windows in my Norridge home I opted for room darkening, bottom up only glacier white cordless cellular shades. Mike promptly replied to questions, arrived on time for our appointments, and provided very clear estimates - after taking the time to thoughtfully present a variety of different options onsite. In addition, Mike also does outstanding work on the blinds installation himself. I never had to worry about work being delegated to less qualified hands. Highest recommendation.

Came across Budget Blinds through a web search and thought I would give them a try. Ended up ordering blinds for not just my living room and one of my bedrooms but my kitchen also. Mike, the owner, was very responsive and had good suggestions as far as what would work best for my needs. Price was very reasonable. Delivery time and installation ended up being less time than I was told which was a nice surprise. In addition, my old window coverings were taken down. I'm very happy with the quality of the window coverings and I am very satisfied with the services I received. I highly recommend.

We came up to Old Time Pottery with an odd purpose: my mom recalled a few years ago that this place…read morecarried the old style of terrycloth beach towels (the ones that are getting usurped by fluffy plush ones in most stores), and we wanted to see if they still had them. Plus, we just wanted to look around. Success! They did have the towels, and a lot of other stuff besides. Now, know that if you're going by their name you will probably be confused, because there isn't a ton of pottery here, and what there was certainly wasn't particularly "old timey." Well, whatever. This place reminds me a lot of Garden Ridge/At Home with a dash of Hobby Lobby thrown in (since there seemed to be some stuff with a religious bent, if you care about that either way). You can find seasonal decor, floral, pictures and framing, wall art of all sorts, furniture, linens, housewares, cleaning supplies, and other stuff too in this huge warehousey building. (Watch the cracks in the floors; I tripped on one.) Would be a particularly good place to visit if your kid is going off to college or someone was moving into an apartment for the first time: you could probably get a lot of your needs covered here in one swoop and at a pretty reasonable price. Overall, I'm just glad to have found my old-style terrycloth beach towels, but I bet we'll come back before the holidays to see what's new at Old Time.

Buyers Beware of their RETURN POLICY!!…read more My bad, I saw their Return Policy Sign which is right there by the front entrance (probably because they reject returns all the time and they can point to the sign), but just assumed it would be similar to the other great stores like Hobby Lobby, Michaels and the At Home store. I WAS WRONG. I purchased over $300 worth patio cushions and pillows and decided the colors just wouldn't work with my existing patio furniture cushion colors, so went to return the items. I had lost the receipt, and would be fine with just a store credit since I shop there all the time they are located less than a mile from my house). They wouldn't accept my return and give me store credit or gift card, pointing to their stupid sign by the door. I am soured and don't respect a store with their lousy Return Policy. Honestly, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, the At Home Store, etc. with similar merchandise have way better quality any way. I won't shop at Old Time Pottery any longer and won't bring any of my visiting relatives to the store, my mother-in-law who loves to buy seasonal stuff, etc. I'm also going to share my experience with my neighbors because I know they shop up there also because it is so close to home for us.
