He was not the cheapest bid, but the one that I felt the most confidence in to cut through the wall and into the roof for the vent. His inspection was professional, he explained the possible issue in my attic clearly with photos and everything was straight forward, logical, and without pressure, drama, or the anticipation of surprises. We contacted SmartMoves, and Pedro came to the rescue almost immediately. When he got to our home we began to explain to him what we thought it was (of course we thought the worst possible scenario) and Pedro reassured us not to worry and that he would figured out what was going on. He told us that he would troubleshoot the situation in hopes that he could solve our problems without having to replace the entire unit. As he bagan working he located our problem, our thermostats was not working properly. Pedro went ahead and replaced our thermostats and our AC unit was working like new again. Pedro saved us a lot of money by locating our solution rather than taking us at our word and replacing the entire unit. We have not had a problem since he came to work on it! I…read moreprobably would not have called given some of these cruddy reviews, but I came on here as soon as they left to write about how amazing they were to me today. My house was broken into while my family was away the last couple of days and when we arrived home this morning, everything was a wreck. It was absolutely horrible (as you can imagine). We don't have a regular handyman because my husband usually does those types of things, but we were so disheveled today that I just grabbed the phonebook and called the first # I found, which was another company. They told me they could send someone out in 2-3 DAYS! there was NO WAY I was going to wait that long, so I called the next #, which was Jeeves. Mark answered the phone and as I was explaining to him what happened I completely broke down- but he was so relaxed and assured me that he would send someone out within a half hour to have our locks changed, our door frame fixed (where they tried to break it down in the back door) and replace the windows that were shattered. I could not believe how helpful he was. He has someone else in the office move their entire schedule around so that they could help me and my family, which in itself is amazing, but the technician they sent out was incredibly sympathetic and wonderful. He was able to take care of everything for us in a few hours and, even though I feel completely violated, I know that my home and my family are secure. I am so thankful to the entire staff at Los Angeles Handyman for understanding how urgent my situation was and doing everything they could to help us. If I ever need anything again (hopefully it won;t be another situation like this) I will call them right away and I suggest to everyone else they do the same.

He explained how the Energy Upgrade program works. We were impressed with the amount of money we could save. We decided to replace our heating and air conditioning system, along with replacing the windows and have insulation installed in our attic and exterior walls. At first I was nervous about having our entire home turned into a construction site. But the lead technician walked us through our house and explained what they would be doing. The crew was polite and courteous. I liked that they laid down plastic and tarp in and around the areas where they were working. By the time the crews had finished, the lead technician again walked us through our home and explained what had been done and asked if we had any questions. From the time we met with Andrew to the time the crews finished the job and walked out of our doors, this team has been AWESOME!!! I definitely recommend their services. I don't even know where to start....it's taken me this long to even begin to know what to do about…read morethis situation that I went through with Andrew and this company. I needed a new air conditioner, heating, tankless water heater, and windows ~~~ the company priced my job and explained that I would be eligible for large rebates through an incentive program and could apply for an energy loan. I have a 1200 square foot condo and the job priced quoted to about $23k+ but Andrew wrote out the bid that had all the rebate information to each line item attached and there were approximately $5k in rebates. They even had a "process" in place where they completed all required paperwork for the rebates and sent it into the organization that issued the rebates. Well, then the craziness began and a job I was told would take a few weeks, took months. There were so so many things that went wrong, from not being able to get hot water out of the tankless water heater for days (it was just a switch that they weren't aware of), to putting a hole in my wall and running an odd wire out of my house for the air cond unit (that is HUGE) on my small patio, to putting knicks in seven of my brand newly floored stairs with the new heater (they paid me $600 finally for that repair), to the end .... which is the saddest part of my story. I explained to Andrew at the beginning that I couldn't really afford $23k and was very dependent on making sure that the rebates were going to be refunded and sent to me soon after the job ended-he said they generally come quickly. I explained that both I and my husband had recently completed cancer diagnosis and treatment, that I recently had started a new job and that I had to have those rebates quickly..... So finally after four or five months of a very long drawn out process, the man from SCE or whatever company is involved with assessing the job to issue me all my rebates, came to my house to let me know what all my credits would be....the man walked into my house with his clipboard and said "oh, this a condo, you can't get any rebates".....I literally thought I was going to pass out....I spent December calling and calling and got more upset with each call. Bottom line, I need to take action but I'm too busy working, finding ways to pay off that additional $5k I NEVER should have had to pay...I NEVER received even an "I'm sorry" from Andrew...but rather just a message through his receptionist that "well, there's never a guarantee of specific amounts of rebates"....well, I have documents outlining $5k in rebates and I will keep reaching out to the utilities commission or to SCE or to others ~ because ITS JUST NOT RIGHT! SHAME IN YOU ANDREW....just shame on you Andrew~in response to your work....I'm not sure where you get the days it took to complete .... so far, fortunately everything is in working order...but the water heater took a week for someone to figure out what was wrong, the air conditioning unit on the patio is twice as large as the one that was there, you had to put Jones in my walls to repair a wire that was not done properly and then put a home where one wasn't outside .... You did pay for the repairs for the damage to my new stairs but really? Who wouldn't have done that? As for the rebates, I was counting on some rebate money..I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED SONE TEBATE MONIES ON A $25k job... I explained we were cancer survivors and waited a long time to get this work done...you should have gotten us some rebate money since someone DID NOT DO WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO ... and no one EVER CALMED TO APOLOGIZE.....it's so wrong ~ you can still make it right...you can issue me some rebate money yourself...if you do that ~ I will issue that thank you here....if not, I hope this never happens to anyone I wanted to update my review because today I had a little leak on my new air conditioner so I called the company and Alex called back right away ... Alex was also very helpful and responsive during the entire install ~ I worried that since it was so hot outside today they probably wouldn't be able to respond very quickly ~~ but Alex called me within an hour and actually came and fixed the issue on the same day!! While not getting a rebate that I expected and was a big reason I even did the work, I understand that it was the third party fault but still feel that SOMEONE from the company should have helped me, the consumer...I got work done because we needed it and having both just gone through cancer, I needed it to be as inexpensive or cost effective as possible so not getting any rebate was very very disturbing ~ BUT A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ALEX FOR TAKING CARE OF US ON THE SAME DAY I CALLED TODAY! I called the company I have used for over 10 years. It's now Monday morning and I have still have not heard from them. My sister referred me to her preferred company and they were awesome. She text back within minutes and said they were booked out til tuesday but referred me to Sol Air. What a blessing! He was out here and I was back up and running within hours of my phone call. I knew from a service call last year what it was however did not tell him. He diagnosed the same issue and fixed it for almost half of what the estimate was last year. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He also did cleaned the unit which he didn't have to do. He is now my new HVAC man for sure. I am grateful!
