Last night my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Seb-Seb. We had been talking about finding a place that serves Ethiopian cuisine and after doing my research I found that this location came highly recommended. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and sat. Soon after our server arrived with water, and showed us the QR code to pull up the menu. They have a full bar at this location and so we ordered a few drinks while ordering for our food. Now, let's talk about the star of the show, the food. We opted for the veggie deluxe combo, which was a colorful platter the showcased the rich flavors of yellow peas, split lentils, kale, carrots, potatoes, black beans, red beets, cabbage, green beans, and salads. The freshness of the ingredients was immediately evident. We also got the Doro Wot which were chicken legs simmered in flavorful sauce with incised hard boiled eggs. If you've never had Doro Wot...OMG! The Lega Tibs might've been top 5 steak dishes I've ever had. So tender and super flavorful I don't think there's anything I could compare it with to give it proper justice. Just wow! You can tell that the ladies running this restaurant really care about the food they're serving, and want people to have a good experience when they come. They would come and check on us to see how things were going, but they had already won us over after the first couple of bites. One of the ladies suggested the honey wine, and if, actually WHEN you come "GET IT". It was sooo good. They weren't super busy while we were here, but it was Thursday and between rush hour and dinner time but again we had a great time. We rarely venture out to silver springs, but it looks like that's about to change.

Great food and excellent service! We were the only customers in the location so the ambiance might be different at other times but for us, the music was great and made for a wonderful night out!

I've been on the hunt for an Ethiopian restaurant that serves tasty vegetarian/vegan dishes, most places tend to have delicious meat dishes but the side items including the vegan options are subpar, I discovered Seb-Seb as part of my search. We ordered our food Togo but we went and picked up the food so it gave us a chance to get a feel for the vibe of the place. Parking is tight in that area so I'd recommend parking on the street along Sligo Ave or the intersecting streets. We went on a weekday so it was not as lively as I would have expected it to be but the place is colorful and upbeat. The biggest thing I appreciated about Seb-Seb is their presentation. Most places tend to pack their food in one of those white styrofoam square boxes which sometimes especially for Ethiopian food, takes away the appeal and the beauty and prevents you from appreciating each item separately. Seb-Seb uses a round Togo plastic container which allows for a perfect presentation of all the dishes; they even made a point to use a sticker with their logo on it to close the bag together. They were pretty quick at getting our food ready and they offer drinks while waiting. We ordered lamb tibs, quanta firfir, veggie platter (miser wet, ater kik, gomen, Shiro, tikel gomen) which is an assortment of types of lentil/pea dishes and cabbage/kale dish. We also tried the lentil Sambusa. The sambusa was perfect, most places tend to make the dough thick which makes it chewy to eat, but this dough was thin and flakey with well done and well seasoned lentils, it was delicious. The quanta firfir was so flavorful and perfect spice level (might be a bit spicy for someone not used to the heat). The only reason why I'm giving it a 4 star is because the veggies did not deliver for me, Miser wet is my favorite dish and it was lacking the heat and flavor was not Upto par. The Shiro was not amazing either. I'll probably go there again but my perfect veggie search continues.

Took my lady here for an evening dinner date. Walked in and were instantly greeted by the owner. The place was small but cozy. It gives you habesha dc lounge vibe. Great music accompanied by music videos. Ordered the veggie platter with lamb tibs (best lamb tibs I have ever had). The food was slamming! Presentation was on point also. Babe is Eritrean and was impressed by the quality. Everything was so fresh. We stayed for hours conversing sipping on honey wine. The owner checked on us the perfect amount of time and even turned the lights down creating a romantic setting just for us! We left feeling like we have a new Auntie! We will definitely be frequenting this hidden gem!

What a gem. We had the lentil soup, Veggie combination platter, lamb tibs, and the Doro Tibs. Everything was excellent! The injera had a great sour flavor, and every single item on the combo platter was phenomenal. We can't wait to go back!

Veggies deluxe combination and SebSeb special ribs with extra Enjera bread!

In March 2018, my girlfriend at the time wanted to go here as there was a group of people going for St. Patrick's Day. We went here along with her young pre-teen daughter. They almost weren't going to let us in, but my g/f assured we just needed to eat, and they said since it was before 9 PM, it'd be ok. I enjoyed my Shepherd's Pie, a solid option here. After eating, there was dancing on the dance floor and a couple of people I knew. Then, my g/f went out to the dance floor. I'm sitting at the table with my g/f's pre-teen daughter who fell asleep. It was awkward for me especially since someone asked me if she was ok, and I said she's just tired. We left sometime in the midnight hour. But the fact of the matter was that my g/f shouldn't have put her daughter in that situation. On a positive, her daughter graduated high school & is still alive today in 2025, so her mom did something right. The other time I was here was in February 2023. I decided to have my birthday party at Copper Canyon in downtown Silver Spring. Then, a few of us were willing to hang longer asking what I wanted to do. I said I remember McGinty's was a good Irish pub. So, I had a couple of more drinks here. Staff was nice and helpful getting me drinks. Overall, I like McGinty's as it's a cute Irish pub with live entertainment, dance floor, & good Shepherd's Pie.

The servers were friendly and prompt, and cheerfully gave us separate checks when it was time to pay. But, unless you like your beer warm, the drinks may disappoint you. My beet salad with goat cheese and grapefruit was beautifully described on the menu - enough to seduce me to order something that was not an Irish classic - but was not enjoyable enough to finish. The fries were good though, and the fried fish that others ordered looked to be perfectly done. So perhaps I'll come back when I'm in the mood for some classical fare. Too bad about the beer though.,,

Found garage parking at Silver Spring Metro Station Parking Garage (It's less than a block away from The Republic Garden or Society). 2 hour ParkMobile spots (Monday-Friday 7a-10p) and then Free any other time, including weekends. So we didn't have to pay for parking. Plenty of parking. As we ventured out of the Parking lot, we heard reggae music and saw this place on the corner and stopped in. It was a $20 cover charge to get in. Cash, ApplePay, Cashapp. etc. they take it all to enter Place was split in 3. You walk in and thru a narrow area where general dining was. The middle section contained the bar and plush seating (where we were) with some TV's. The Back room had the DJ and seating for Hookah. Lounge/Restaurant reminded me of a narrow townhouse but there was still plenty of space to sit/stand/walk around Pics of the current menu and prices are attached to this review. I had a Blue MF'er to drink and it was small but Strong - only need one. My friends also said their drinks were good and strong too I didn't get any food, but my friends got the Strew and Jollof Rice and said that was good, along with chicken wings. Food seemed to take a long time to come out There was a live DJ spinning class early 2000 music, dancehall, and reggae music of today and a bit old. I would absolutely come back for that DJ alone. Around midnight, the place started to fill out a bit more with folks. There were even laser lights and smoke/fog coming out of a machine in the middle room. She helped with the options for the game load cards, since it had been many years since the last time I had came here. It was nice to see a new reservation area and some fresh games. Now some of the games such as the racing games might move a little fast and some like the slot machine and the 4 way pong and Pacman games are not explained the best and can be confusing, while the basketball, skee-ball, and some of the shooter games are a bit more consistent offering amazing, fun, trilling, and exciting gameplay. Other games like the Ghostbusters and the UFC game right in the front are total letdowns. The axe throwing is apart of the fad with ax throwing and thank goodness the axes are plastic but the rubber board is hard to get the plastic axes to stick, but with proper technique it does work. I was excited with some of the new games and some of the old reliable ones in the arcade. DTSS Ellsworth Place had an adorable small independent arcade with Dance Dance Revolution and basketball game in it back in the day on a lower level, so it is great that D&B opened up almost around a decade ago to provide an arcade in a mall that was truly lacking and desperate to be brought back to relevancy. The restaurant food had improved a bit since the last time I was here pre-COVID, and the service was friendly but a bit slow and erratic at times certainly have to pack your patience, that is a running theme with Dave & Busters with the slow restaurant and bar. The place was clean and had hand sanitized wipes and clean tables throughout parts of the arcade which was splendid. Nobody with class and decorum want sticky tables with crumbs and liquid spills on them, so nice with having the tables and games clean and wiped down and floor vacuumed, big kudos! The patrons themselves can be an issue. Security had to inform a father with a kid that the dad let him climb one of the arcade machines standing on it to have the kid get off from the machine. This was dangerous and idiotic. Someone had a dog with a diaper on with a leash roaming around here trying to sniff people. That also was a poor decision even for an emotional support animal, all of the overstimulation and loud noise and tons of kids an adults, it just meant no sense to bring fido to the arcade. Why do people insist bringing these dogs everywhere these days and lack respect for boundaries especially with other human beings. It is if they have more respect for the dogs than the other patrons and not even paying attention and keeping up with the dog going around to other people there. The kids should also not be playing with balls in the actual restaurant/bar. That is the problem with the poor parenting and undisciplined children having a lot out here these days. I want the location to better enforce rules and regulations, however it has improved a great deal from its past which is nice!
