I have a 2011 Victory Cross Country that needed some lowering and a Car Tire (Dark Side) installed. I found him from a website (DARKSIDE.NWFF.INFO) which has over 8000+ members. On the list was 4 other ones in the state that could have helped me but they all were not easy to deal with. Walt actually emailed me back promptly and set up a time for us to meet. He ask a few questions that gave away is experience right away. You will not be disappointed is his work at all. The only disappointment I have is the fact he might retire some day. Okay, Walter did help me out ONCE 5 years ago when my bike was my only ride and the left turn signal didn't work and he spent time fixing it for free. Getting back into riding after many years off, I needed some help with new tires and a look at my bike (Triumph Sprint ST 1050) by a professional. Walter was amazing. He is a straight up mechanic who knows what he's doing. He walked me through what he'd done to the bike, showed me old bearings that he'd replaced, and I hopped on I-5 after tires and bearings had been replaced in less than 24 hours with a smile on my face. I'm not sure what I can say that hasn't already been said by the other positive reviews. Walter does great work, only fixes what needs to be fixed and the cost is always less than I thought it would be. The only downside is that he is very busy, especially in the summer, so it can require a bit of a wait. But the quality of his work and the honesty of his prices more than offset the inconvenience of being without my bike for a few days. I was stranded with my bike at a parking lot and Walter was the only one who didn't put me on hold when I called. He was patient listening to my story of what may have led to the fuel tank being clogged. He was welcoming and provided assistance right after my bike was towed to his shop. He diagnosed it the same day, called me with repair updates, and also did a safety maintenance inspection. I got my bike back within a couple of days. His shop is well maintained, not like some of those grease monkey places. His shop is clean and organized. A few months later, he worked with me on scheduling for new brake pads and tires. More importantly, the quote I received was not only accurate, but also a fraction of what most shops quoted me. Walter took the time to speak to me about my bike, and listened to what I had to say. Okay service upfronts is far as fixing my bike and taking my money. I went back a few weeks later with some questions because bike seem to be doing the same thing it was before I brought it in, whining when I try to turn it over instead of engaging. The purpose of this review is pretty straightforward, the total lack of customer service when I went back was unbelievable. Not only did he get defensive right away but he got to basically calling names yelling and being otherwise offensive. At the end of our conversation he admitted that he never liked me, interesting because he liked me enough to take my money. Perhaps everyone won't have whatever personality conflict there was here. I didn't sense that when I went to him only when I went back to him to ask him about what could be the problem which is where he got defensive and angry and loud I would never use this guy again read more

Have taken all my bikes to Walter Meyers (and before him, George Dean as owner) for the last 15 years. Gold Wing, ST1100, ST1300, now a Honda 600cc...I literally wouldn't go to any other Honda shop (and they work on bikes of all makes; I'm just a Honda guy). It's not as convenient for me to get there now, since they've moved their shop northward over the years, from original location on 90th and Aurora. Still, I make the effort...have NEVER been disappointed in the quality of the work, courtesy of staff, and helpful attitude.
