I immediately got in touch with the shop owner explaining the situation - it took me sending two emails and then finally calling to get someone'a attention. She then admitted that the shelf she had in stock was in the same state, so couldn't offer a swap but said I could take a discount or a refund. As I spent almost a couple hundred pounds on it I opted for the refund. it's now been two weeks and i can't get anyone to reply to an email or my phone calls. terrible customer service - stay away!!

There are one or two IKEAS in each big city around the UK and the World. It is very reasonably priced and they are usually very up to date with everything they sell. They also have a cafe in each store which has very reasonably priced breakfast and scandinavian style foods. Not happy. Apart from that I had a nice couple of hours there and picked up some bargains as well as having the Swedish meatballs in the cafe.
