Peter's is still around and booming for one thing. Second is they have barely increased their prices as compared to everyone else on that Gold Coast!!! We arrived and there was still a line out the door if the fish market at 4:00PM. They shut down the kitchen at 7:00PM. Remember this is a fish market. They had added many more picnic benches that kind of line the street and have a few at the end of the little street overlooking the water. So, you pick out your seafood, stand in line and when it's your turn you tell them how you want it cooked. We ordered a meal that consisted of 7 large fried shrimp(crumbled prawn cutlets)and order of fries and a large bottled soda. Total check was $24 AUDs....about $16US. Our number was quickly called and we retrieved our food. Sat outside and had a delightful late afternoon lunch/early dinner. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. And the fries were plentiful and nicely seasoned with salt. Both the shrimp and fries had a nice crisp. Remember this is a fish market. Service is great if you are ok standing in line for a boating to order. Staff is there willing to help Seafood is described as to type and labeled whether it is freshly caught or has been previously frozen. What more does one want. Highly recommend even though I shouldn't because the place is already always packed. Remember this is casual dining and it is simple! Enjoy!

From looking at the previous photos there showed that there was a wide variety available such as lobster and morton bay bugs. After being seated, checked what was available and was greatly disappointed that the seafood selection were quite minimal. We decided to stay and again was met with another disappointment that the dishes were either below or just average. When asked where were the lobsters etc we were told that they don't put them out on weekdays and even then it's on occasion. This should have been added to their website so folks are clear as to what they are getting. The prawns were nice but some were grainy. The oysters were super tiny. The meats that we had were the roast pork with crackling and the roast beef. Both were quite dry even with the sauce which was too salty. Also check one of the images attached. There is a bug on one of their desserts. Of the ones that didn't have any bugs were hit and miss. That aside the service was very good, very attentive. If the food was up to the same quality that would have been better. Overall quite meh. For the price I would go elsewhere.

I was able to enjoy dinner here recently thanks to their promotional rate during restaurant month…read more The dinner buffet was half price making it more than worth the experience. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the QT Hotel. There is street parking as well as valet parking available. Upon entry to the restaurant I was escorted to my table while passing by the different counters of food options. The host explained how everything worked and pointed out the different areas of the buffet. It is all neatly presented and vary high quality ingredients. After showing me the table I went to get started. The very left side of the buffet has certain meat and seafood options. They have beef stew, paella, and a few more options. You can also ask the chef in this section to make you a steak any temperature you like and they will deliver it to your table. Next to the meats you have the pizza counter. At the time they had a cheese option and a potato option. I tried the cheese pizza and it was incredible! The next section has salads and sides. You can choose from mac n cheese to potato salad and lots of other choices. The last section has asian dishes such as dim sum, chicken masala and lots more. The dessert counter is behind the dinner food and has tons of selections. You can get all sorts of mini cakes, pastries, ice cream, chocolates and more. Definitely save some room for dessert! Everything is so fresh and cooked perfectly with the right sauces! The beautiful presentation, delicious food and fantastic service are why I gave this place 5 stars.

The food is solid and a typical fusion mix of a miso infused pork belly next to a roast beef sirloin with roast vegies. A laksa next to cold cuts of meat and breadrolls... maybe not so much fusion in hindsight, maybe its a bit of two worlds crossed like star crossed lovers... but with some sushi. So essentially multiple asian countries crossed with the typical aussie fair. So really the world is kissing and youre eating, gross but sweet but gross but kind of nice.. getting off topic here. Lets get this right, the food is nothing really awesome but when combined with queenslands only 360 revolving restaurant a la candlelight 26 stories above a la central gold coast broadbeach... the taste is yelping spectacular $62 later a head plus $4.50 for a glass of coke. So recommended but not really for a regular visit. Perfect for romance and walking a full stomach off by the breathtaking beach.

The main attraction being the view was mostly unseen as the lighting inside was too bright to view the night lights outside. Instead you saw your own reflection when trying to peer out. My recommendation is to go for a day or early evening seating if you want to take in the view. The dessert buffet was the best part of the evening. The worst part, the other patrons. Some patrons had been scooping the oysters from their shells at the buffet station so care had to be taken not to select an empty oyster shell. Searching through the empty oyster shell rubble we managed to find some tasty morsels to return to our table with. The crab was a disaster, stringy dry overcooked crab meat was hardly worthy of the effort involved to get to it. However, the prawns were amazing. The main buffet was a collection of over cooked salmon, tasty veal, chicken, tough chewy steak and tragically over cooked lamb cutlets. The sides were pretty boring - steamed or roasted vegetables. The dessert buffet had a great selection of sugary treats, chilli chocolate pano cotta, pavlova, doughnuts, ice cream, a broad selection of cheeses and fresh fruit to name a few. Ho ho ho hum... Not the highlight of my Christmas vacation. But it wasn't all that bad value for what fare was available.

I did remember the breakfast buffet being outstanding so we were keen to see if it was still there. Gone was the breakfast buffet and in came HRG... a Korean family owned breakfast buffet joint which also served seafood at night? I'm not sure. It was incredibly bizarre. We were looking at the shopfront when this Eastern European old lady came up to us and tried to persuade us to come in. She was a bit desperate as it was empty inside. She wasn't the most accomodating lady either, but we thought why not and stepped in. Oh boy, what a mistake. The breakfast buffet was a meagre section in a restaurant, serving sad looking sausages and eggs and churros. Churros?? How odd! We went to grab some and the owner came out and admitted that they were from yesterday. What even! Why even put them out still then! He took them away and came back with fresh ones, which were nice of him. I guess. Everything was really subpar, the coffee was a pot on a heater and the dry food were stale tasting. Aside from us, there were only one other couple who looked like they were cajoled in by the old lady as well. It was such a sad sate of affair. Maybe the seafood nights fare better? But STAY AWAY from this place for breakfast. It is weird. And not worth your money.
