Had the hot and sour soup (i know it is Americanized Chinese food), sautéed string beans with pork, and the eggplant with salty fish rice plate. All of them were executed pretty well. One can tell the food was seared at high temperature, an essence of Cantonese cooking. The food was a bit on the sweet side and the portions not particularly generous. But overall they are delicious. The people there seems to be typical first generation Chinese immigrants. The chefs cook until 10pm (or sooner if there are no customers). Long working hours with an usually meager pay. I do feel for them and wish them success.

I was first skeptical due to the food presentation (look at the chasiu pork and the shoyu broth that is not clear...) and how pricey it was ($17 AUS). Still we were hungry and mood for ramen, so we dropped by. Looks are deceiving because this is one of the most subtle yet fantastic bowls I've had. Don't let that bland looking chasiu fool you; it is one of the richest porks I've ate. And it is served cold. But you let it submerged into the broth and it blends so well together. An envelope of flavors, rich fatty pork, and skinny ramen noodles slurped up into a harmonious taste. And the soup is so good to drink by the spoonful. Or by the bowl. I picked up the bowl instead. They also give a free second serving of noodles too! Just ask. Super reminiscent of the ramen I had in Japan. The other one I want to try is the super spicy Shoyu but that'll be another time. Hopefully within 5 years?
