I moved into Seaside Village in 2017 and moved out this week because my job relocated to another state. This apartment complex was more than a home to me, it was a community and family. The apartment manager, Catalina always went above and beyond to make sure that any issues I had were taken care of quickly, and any problems she would not only check in with me by calling but come and talk to me in person to see that I was okay. This included the 2021 winter power outage when I was home with a 2 week old baby and she wanted to be sure I had all the blankets, candles, and water I needed for my newborn. The maintenance workers Roger and Shane are also very friendly and efficient. Even when I'm walking on the property with my child and dog they always take the time to stop and say hi and love on my dog or child. I also don't want to leave out of this the original crew that was Sheila Morgan, the apartment manager, and Jose and Benjamin who were maintenance. They overlooked the property most of the time I lived here and Sheila and Benjamin are now part of my Galveston family. I was very worried when the property was sold and there was a change of staff but Catalina, Roger, and Shane have continued the level of efficiency, compassion, and friendliness that I was accustomed to. read more

Please take caution in signing a lease here. The units and grounds are poorly maintained and are nothing close to the pictures they advertise. While I lived there maintenance requests were continually delayed and/or never completed. The pool is disgusting. The water was always cloudy and there was a black grim along the tile that was there the entire time I lived there. Overall things just were not maintained well and the assistance manager/office boy Corby was offen very dismissive and argumentative about these problems. read more

We have a new manager here.Her name is Catalina and she is definitely worth mentioning because not only does she come with many years of experience but when she says she will get something done for you, she means it and will communicate and follow up to make sure that you are satisfied. I've waited a very long time for much needed repairs throughout my apartment. When she came in to do a walk through with the property manager, who is also very proactive and no nonsense, they scheduled a time that was convenient for me and began the process of addressing and resolving each issue until it was completed. The improvement has really made a difference and only took a month to complete everything. I couldn't believe how quickly these issues were resolved after having waited such a long time prior to their arrival. Along with Catalina and assistant manager Michelle, the property manager, Christine also brought on board Francisco our lead maintenance personnel. He is on top of everything as well. This team is not only knowledgeable with years of experience in their fields but they all very much care about the concerns and needs of their residents and are committed to a higher standard to ensure each resident has a home they can be proud of. Seaside Village has made a remarkable recovery since bringing in this team of professionals and it shows. I've been here for 3 years and have never been happier. Thank you to the entire SSV team. 1.) Management solicits and pays via gift card for 5 star reviews. 3 reviews 3mths ago all stellar ??? I was solicited and declined ! 2.) Current manager is the 25-year old son (no experience)of the owner/operator of Diamond Asset Mgmt (owner/investor in property). Can't keep anyone else working for her that has any sense or ethics. 3.) Remediation underway - people left with no walls, no ceilings, many units 'unlivable' but they won't release you from your lease - apparently no walls, ceilings, in kitchens and baths with mold visible is 'livable' in their eyes. 4.) Current manager believes he can yell/raise his voice to residents who have valid questions and are not rude to him. Unprofessional, rude and 'lies' because he doesn't know the answers or is doing so at the direction of Diamond Property mgmt (his mother). 5.) No accountability just excuses - they tore things up after Beryl; the majority of damage uncovered isn't due to Beryl as noted by the workers, insurance adjusters etc. that have been on site and told residents the same. 6.) 5 weeks since Beryl and no end date or communication on when rebuild will begin. I have been 3 weeks with no ceilings/walls in parts of the unit. But, no information on when to expect that to be repaired. 7.) Residents expected to pay to 'dry out' the property on their own dime paying for the electricity to run industrial fans/dehumidifiers - managements answer "No compensation given" No rent deduction to offset the increased electrical cost. Which in my case is an additional $68 since this sham began. No walls/ceilings increase a/c costs exponentially. 8.) The so called property manager was rarely on sight pre-Beryl but has been MIA for most days since Beryl. Another sign he has no clue how to handle the situation. 9.) Overall, location of the property is the only good thing. The units are "shabby" (not chic), maintenance is virtually non-existent as they never actually resolve issues; just patch them together. Management lacks knowledge, professionalism, and has no regard for it's residents. 10.) Just a rent check to these folks. 11.) Renting is always a gamble BUT this is the absolute worst experience I have ever encountered. The staff from top to bottom or horrible. read more

There is no positive reason to live here anymore. I moved in several years ago and adored this complex. Unforutnately, the new owner & manager have turned this place into a nightmare in an impressively short amount of time. Most of my walls have been replaced with tarp, and in some cases garbage bag. When they removed the drywall, it exposed black mold rampant throughout the apartment. There is a hole in my wall about 2 feet in diameter allowing me to see clearly into my neighbor's living room. The kid in the office refuses to help in anyway and alternates between dismissive and combative. My A/C hasn't work for 5 months. Multiple outlets don't work. The patio is falling off, and hunks of concrete+wood+nails periodically fall out of it onto my porch and the street below. It's been like that for half a year. The complex loses a patio or 2 every year now. We had rats for a about a year. The complex acts like there is nothing to be done about them. The hot tub hasn't worked and the pool has been filthy ever since new management took over. Oh, and rent has gone up 55% since the complex changed hands. read more

The owner of this property Christine Diamond has no regard for the residents in this complex. Worst management team I have ever had to deal with. If you have any maintenance issues you might as well do it yourself or wait half your lease for them to come fix it. She would rather have maintenance on property putting up reserved parking signs everywhere that cost and additional 30 dollars a month to park in rather then have them actually working on anyone's units. For example 6 months for a new toilet. 6 months for them to come fix a bathtub. 3 months for a new dishwasher. 2-3 weeks for bubbles in the floor from a flooding Ac unit that was caused from maintenance turning a drain valve away from the actual drain. Scheduled 6 different appointments for pest control and are always told "they will for sure be there this time" and then they never show. All these issues coming from different units. The buildings themself are falling apart except for building 3 because it was burnt down and rebuilt. I think the icing on the cake is the fact that the owners son is a leasing agent here and he along with the rest of management will be all nice and friendly and then once that lease is signed they no longer care about you. We've lived here at Seaside Village for a year now. The manager, Sheila and assistant manager, Hannah, are both friendly and professional. The maintenance staff, Jose and Benjamin are so sweet and very hard working. Love the layout of our townhouse, the location, our ocean view! It has been years since we've lived anywhere that had as friendly a group of neighbors as Seaside has. Everyone here has been so lovely and welcoming. Seaside is a pet friendly complex and it seems almost everyone has a dog, the barking can be a problem at times. Maintenance requests are taken care of in a timely fashion, excellent maintenance staff in my estimation. Had a slight bug problem when we first moved in, but management ensures that the exterminator, Magic, comes by at least once a month and we haven't had a problem in quite awhile. I would give it five stars except for the traffic that constantly cuts through our parking lot from Seawall Blvd., the overly bright parking lot lights which tend to ruin the night time view of the ocean and our living room and kitchen floors are ANYTHING but level, WAY not level. But older buildings do tend to have their "quirks". read more

I have lived at seaside village for a year and a half. All I can say is it's an all around awesome complex to live in. From the maintenance team who is always there when you need them...the management team has been nothing but helpful and attentive to our needs...and just being part of a great community is was I appreciate to the fullest. read more

I have lived here for approx 9 months. I have had several issues since the move-in date. The one star is for location and floor plan (Bonaire), but that's about it!! The day I moved in, there were several things out of place, a missing towel rod, missing toilet paper holder, a broken stove vent & light (which took approximately 6 months to fix), a large work ladder was left in the master bathroom, and a bucket of paint was left outside of my apartment for weeks, and the list goes on!! A few months in, I had a major MOUSE problem. Upon informing the office, and even sending them pictures of the mice running around my kitchen and living room, they took their sweet time to address this issue, so I invested a lot of MY money to fix the problem. I was disgusted and frustrated, and they did not care one bit, until I threatened legal action!! The manager (who was brand new at the time) became my go to person because she was the only one that made things happen in a somewhat timely manner. Every week it's something new! No joke. In 9 months, I've placed over a dozen work orders (according to their records). I have rented in several apartments, all over Texas, and I can honestly tell you this is THE WORST place I have ever lived in. Once my lease is up, I am getting out of there FAST!! read more

Probably the worst apartment we have ever lived in. We rented a unit only to find out 2 weeks before our move that we couldn't move in to the unit we wanted because they had leased us a unit that wasn't available. We were convinced to rent another unit that was more expensive but were given a discount and free washer/dryer to use, but promised we were on the wait list for the unit we originally requested. What a mistake! We had an AC that didn't work for 3 months in the summer time. It took them the entire 3 months to finally replace the main AC unit. They gave us a window unit in the meantime to make up for it, but constantly wanted to remove it. When we asked where we were on the wait list they told us they never put us on it. Workers would come into our apartment unannounced even though we had told the manager many times that we worked night shift and needed 24 hours notice. There are bugs everywhere. The last straw was when the washer that they had "gifted" us rusted out the bottom and flooded our apartment and the apartment below us. Our apartment smelled like garbage water. When we complained the management just attempted to make us feel about about the guy below us. It's unfortunate for him but we have small children and our apartment was a disas If you move in make sure you submit every request in writing for maintenance. We were only released from our contract after threatening to get a lawyer. Very very upsetting. Sheila - i am unclear as to why you would want to discuss all of these issues now. You were 100% present at the time these issues occurred and allowed them to continue. To attempt to save face by posting that comment on yelp is ludicrous. Unless you are offering to refund the entire 6 months of rent plus the lease break fee we paid we do not wish to hear from you. read more

Great place to call home! The office staff has been professional and friendly since day one. I have had all of my maintenance needs met in a timely fashion. The other residents are extremely friendly. I also have a husky, which is on the aggressive breed list, and she has several other husky friends now that we are here. Our view of the ocean is wonderful!!! read more

This is a great community in a good part of Galveston. I love that you can walk right across the street to the beach. I also like that restaurants, some shops, and grocery store are all an easy walk away. The complex is cared for. The staff is attentive and helpful, including the manager, Amy, and the maintenance staff, David and Joe. Great community. read more

I have lived here for almost a year now and the apartments are in deplorable conditions! MOLD EVERYWHERE!!!! Maintenance is a constant issue our office employees constantly lie the community and people who live here are great and very tight knit. There is constant safety issues in the common areas with the balconies falling in and holes in the roof. Do not rent from this place! read more
