Part two where did the layaway go that had 41 Indian head pennies . I went into the pawn shop Thursday April 2nd 2026 to get a copy of my layaway that they say went delinquent Chris and his boy and another young kid said there was no written agreement that on layaways they don't do that and they don't give delinquent notices to there customers . So there is no recourse . I couldn't believe that . There must have been an error imputing my payment into the new computer . Chris said to late anyways we put it out Feb 27th . But when I called in March they said I was in my grace period for March and I could come in when feeling better and make payment . How can that be because the item would have already been put back on the floor when there telling me its ok to make my March payment until I got into the store. Chris informed me there was nothing that could be done deliguent account what don't you get about that . What I'm having a problem with is why when I made my February payment the man said they weren't in the store. This is something I own now and paying on and it's not there ? No written agreement ? Chances are if you end up here, your probably pawning stuff and you need $$. Pawn deals are typical. You pay a huge fee to borrow or pawn....to be expected. What I didn't expect was to be sold stuff that doesn't work!!! Absolute junk. I bought a power tool for a friend. They didn't use it for a month but when they did, it simply didn't work! DO NOT buy any power tools or anything electrical from this place. I also looked at a guitar and notice it had a broken tuning peg. I'm thinking how dan they sell rubbishy like this. So anyway about the power tool. When I called to inquire, they said they don't sell broken stuff and accused me of being the type of person that buys, uses and returns. Its then that I know who their customers are and that they assume I am that type of customer..... I typically buy at retail stores who support their customers . This was my mistake to think I was getting a bargain. I will never be patronizing this pawn shop again. Keep in mind this is a chain of 2 or 3 branches. The other ones in Salinas. I was very disappointing when I have a few items in the shop and I went in the shop on 10/27/21 and they told me that I owed some money to some jewelry that I had in there and I did not have the original for some weird reason?? I was in shock to find out that this SHOP DID NOT SEND ME MY "ORIGINALS" that I had no idea how they had them for 4 months and NOT SEND THEM TO ME??? And they are NIT SIGNED BY ME?? Or CALL ME to pick them up??? If they had them in the beginning of the transaction and FORGOT TO GIVE THEM TO ME, they would have called me to get them?? It really depends on who is helping you. If you walk in and you get guy named maybe early thirties named Eddie is working is working leave and come back at a later time. He is rude, treats people bad and will not work with you whatsoever. He doesn't make for a good sales person. If gentlemen in maybe late forties with mustache and heavy accent is there he is your guy. He will help you out work with you on price etc. He has helped me out a couple times when he could have stuck me ie late on payment etc. Good guy makes all the difference. read more

I brought in a antique glass perfume bottle with a sterling silver top and I tested it at home with my acid test and it tested sterling silver but I wanted a second opinion to verify it was silver. I take it in to have them test it all he did was get his magnifying glass and took it to another guy looked at it and said it wasn't real. Ok I take it somewhere else it was real. And it's valued over $ 200.00 . They take no interest to try to make money. If they would of took the time and did there job and checked and did there research instead they prefer to turn people away. I took my business somewhere else and they took interest. I have been going here to Sell and Pawn a few merchandise that I have, the prices you get for what you sell might be lower than what you are expecting so I would suggest just to pawn if it's an item that you don't really want to give up, just remember for example, if you pawn something for 50$ then at the last month you have to get the item, you might have to pay 69$ or a little more. Why the 4 stars you say? Since I have been a loyal client of theirs in both this location and the one in Salinas, they have helped me out many times with giving me a little extra cash for a sale or pawn that I have and it really does help, but at the end of the day, it is a Pawn Shop, you're rarely ever gonna get the price you expect for certain items. read more

Sure they have some decent stuff, like any pawn shop. But don't bother trying to sell them anything. Complete rip off. Maybe they think I'm an idiot, but I am just as capable as them to search the internet and see the prices my items are selling for. I brought in a guitar that sells for $400 average online. The pawn dude found an example of someone selling one for $150 - BUT I can see in that item description that the guitar he's selling is damaged and scratched. Mine is in perfect condition. So don't try to compare my guitar with some random online person selling a damaged guitar of the same brand. Long story short this place offered me $40 for my $400 guitar lmao.
