I've Booked multiple stays at this Hostel and wouldn't stay anywhere else. It gets better every time and clean!! The staff has a fun, professional, friendly vibe! An enormous shout out to Hella, Amber, Rhonda and Ben for their hard work in making this place run as smooth as possible with a fun vibe.

Wear a helmet if you're on the top bunk so you don't get your head busted open from the ceiling fan like I did

If you stay here, bring a helmet. Ceiling fan is dangerously close to top bunk and busted my head open on the first night. Went to emergency room and got metal staples in my head.

    Fantastic waffle morning!

Been coming and going from this hostel for the last 5 years... I always end up going back to it cause it's my home away from home! The staff are super friendly, kind and available for anything! Not just saying that to be nice but because no matter what they embrace you like family no matter what the circumstances are. I've gotten angry, I've cried (for my own personal issues) but there was always someone's shoulder that I could lean on! A shout out to Thomas and Robin!! for regards the other "staff peeps" there have been many other that come and go, you know your seasonal travelers, but dear to me now are: Little Red, Buffy, Cherry, Lilly, Van, Mr Old Fashion and Ms Moose's! ;) much love to them What makes a hostel a great hostel are not necessarily the facility's but the guests themselves. Those that do not enjoy their surroundings or other fellow travelers end up findings the smallest things to complain about and then making a tragedy out of nothing. for example: "omg there is a roach!" = my reply "what in the courtyard"?! dude it's Hawai'i and roaches are Hawaii's state bird!!!! how about: "it's expensive"= my answer "its still the cheapest hostel on the island" (a definite face palm here!!) how about " its dirty ", my answer "have you seen any of the other hostels on the island?! My guess is probably not... which means you haven't seen what dirty is!" You might ask :" How about all the negative comments on head butts, waivers and injuries?!" Well the answer to that is: the waiver exists for stupid people who harm themselves and then want to blame it on others (must I remind you that America is a super friendly Sue Nation: they got nothing better to do than sue each other ) and staff has a first aid kit, and they know a RN that lives nearby and they know how to dial 911 - all of this simply to state, they ready and prepared for the fumbling drinkers all you gotta do is ask for help My only suggestion is: go out to the beach, have fun, relax and embrace the moment, embrace the place, embrace the people - you'll enjoy Seaside if you really want to

I stayed at the Seaside Hostel for a week in Waikiki after a friend's recommendation and holy, this place is a gem! I was firstly greeted by the ever so kind Priska and was walked through the Hostel's adorable courtyard, full kitchen open for guests' use, then walked up to my sunlit room complete with fresh linens and towels. My friends and I enjoyed socializing with the other guests during their outdoor movie nights, had out first surfing lesson organized by the amazing Jack on staff, and loved the ease of Seasides prime location in downtown. Though this was my first Hostel experience, Seaside Hawaiian has now definitely raise the bar high for my Hostel standards in the future.

Entry to private room and bathrooms on the right

I booked this hostel for two nights for private room using their website. I chose this hostel out of the others because it was the only one that had a private room with 2 people minimum (that I know off, I could be wrong). This would be the 4th hostel I've ever been to. I really want to love this place but there are just a few things holding it back. Some pros: - Great location! Close to beach, McDonalds, Starbucks, Jamba Juice etc! - Large sized rooms (not butt to butt which I have experienced in other hostels) - Decently clean showers (considering it's a beach hostel) - FREE beach towel, snorkel, body board rentals - $15 All day surfboard rental - free breakfast (but it's just toast with jam/butter, coffee & tea) Cons: - A bit of an annoyance that you have to deal with your own linens (but it's a hostel so I get it) - Ran into 3 cockroaches during my stay (they do try to keep you from having food in your room) - My bed squeaked so loudly and often at every little move I made, it was pretty annoying. I really love the quaint feeling the hostel has with it's little patio in the middle and it's two buildings. It's a nice change from the commercial hotels lining up the beach. I see so much potential in this hostel to be more, but it just doesn't quite cut it. I think beds need to replaced, and colored bed sheets could make it more fun. Just some renovations could really make this place from just OK, to AMAZING. Anyways, it's an okay stay for the location for the budget traveller. I definitely recommend it!

Hammock in the common area. So open and beautiful!

Offers daily tours and social events every night to meet others in the hostel (definitely superior to other hostels). Cons: let me preface by saying I understand this is definitely a "you get what you pay for" experience. However, there are a few things that I truly believe are kinda like "bare minimums" that should be included/fixed even factoring the price. Does NOT provided a blanket... only a top sheet is provided. The hostel should most definitely be providing an actual blanket, and this is especially annoying because they do NOT inform you that you only receive a top sheet!!!!! That is a serious qualm I had. Hooks in bathroom were falling apart. No sink counter space...could not even set down your toiletries bag. You need to have a least a little bit so you can put stuff down. No table/surface to put stuff on. I'm not expecting a full dining set table. But you should at least have a small table/desk so you have somewhere to set things on. These reasons are why I had to take off a star. I would stay here again. But I do believe there are some realistic changes that need to be made.

Great vibes, price, clean, and safe. Great for solo women travelers as well. CLEANLINESS- Each guests deserve a clean stay. This hotel was very clean everywhere! The common areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. housekeeping comes everyday to each room and thoroughly cleans. SERVICE & HOSPITALITY- One aspect of a great experience at an establishment is the service of the staff. At this location, I was amazed. The staff was incredible. Out of all the hostels I've been to(and I've been to many) this was by far the best. Out of all the hostels in Waikiki, this one had the best vibes, events, and people. Medusa was fantastic at getting people together for events... we did Karaoke, movie nights, pancakes in the morning, and more. She really created a safe environment for solo travelers to feel comfortable to join in when they don't know anyone or what to do. Join the WhatsApp group for additional info, when you check in. SAFETY- If you have a family, you know safety is number one. My input on safety in this location is I felt safe in the rooms, common areas, and in the location in Waikīkī. Wasn't afraid to go alone at night. RESTAURANT AND OTHER HOTEL SERVICES- During your stay if you are interested in eating here, I'd recommend checking out some of the tours the hotels have partners with. We went shark diving, and a circle tour around the island with people from the hostel. It was amazing! BANG FOR YOUR BUCK? Is this too expensive for the quality of the stay? This is perfectly priced and you'd be missing out if you don't go. They genuinely create such a welcoming, social atmosphere and make everyone feel included. Huge shoutout to Emily, Toby, and Kate, who were especially amazing and made my stay unforgettable--but honestly the entire team contributes to the magic here. Whether you're traveling solo or with friends, it's the kind of place where you instantly meet people and end up making memories you didn't even plan for. The staff were friendly but very laid-back, at times it was hard to tell who worked there since they often hung out with guests in the common areas. The building felt a bit unkempt, and the kitchen cleanliness was questionable. My room didn't have A/C, but there was a ceiling fan and a standing fan that helped keep it cool enough. They have a quiet time policy for later hours, which I personally don't feel was enforced. I also heard quite a bit of noise at night, including some things that probably should've stayed behind closed windows. They do offer tours at the front desk where you can sign up, which is a nice touch. I didn't personally try any. Overall, it's a good fit if you're looking for a social, party style hostel, but if you prefer something a bit cleaner or more classy, it might not be the best option.
