The staff is great and friendly - the manager Georgia helped accommodate some date change requests very easily without any hassle. Last time I was there (July 2024) they were undergoing some upgrades to the rooms, also fresh paint on the building, new fridge upgrades - a welcome surprise since I was previously happy with the experience! Aloha, friends - I'll see you back at Seaside soon!

I was genuinely excited to check out this hostel, especially because it is an all-female hostel and…read moreI really liked that concept. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. As shown in my attached photo, the temperature was 94°F. I had booked a semi-private room with only one other roommate, and our room did not have nearly as many fans as the larger shared room where it was cooler and people were actually sleeping under covers! I understand that the front desk claimed the hostel advertises that it does not have air conditioning, but there is a major difference between simply not having A/C and trying to sleep in a room that is 94 degrees. The heat was unbearable, and I was immediately sweating. I literally checked in, walked into the room, felt how unbearably hot it was, and walked right back out. I told the front desk that I could not possibly sleep there under those conditions. I was inside for approximately 1-2 minutes, yet I was not offered any refund. I was immediately sent an invoice for full price, almost $200. And they were able to rent it out again because I immediately gave them the keys. I really wanted to like this place because I think an all-female hostel is a great idea. However, a 94-degree sleeping environment with inadequate fans was simply not reasonable or comfortable for me. Given that I essentially walked into the room and immediately left without actually staying, I also wish the front desk had shown some flexibility regarding a refund. Please have the manager or owner reach out to me.

First time staying in a hostel and it was overall a good experience!…read more Pros: literally only a 2 minute walk from the beach. Free beach gear to check out. 24/7 front desk help. Offers daily tours and social events every night to meet others in the hostel (definitely superior to other hostels). Cons: let me preface by saying I understand this is definitely a "you get what you pay for" experience. However, there are a few things that I truly believe are kinda like "bare minimums" that should be included/fixed even factoring the price. Does NOT provided a blanket... only a top sheet is provided. The hostel should most definitely be providing an actual blanket, and this is especially annoying because they do NOT inform you that you only receive a top sheet!!!!! That is a serious qualm I had. Hooks in bathroom were falling apart. No sink counter space...could not even set down your toiletries bag. You need to have a least a little bit so you can put stuff down. No table/surface to put stuff on. I'm not expecting a full dining set table. But you should at least have a small table/desk so you have somewhere to set things on. These reasons are why I had to take off a star. I would stay here again. But I do believe there are some realistic changes that need to be made.

Close to the beach and other attractions like Diamond Head. This is also in an area close to restaurants and fun things. A convenient location for staying and getting around. It's located within walking distance to Diamond Head. There's also a bus stop outside for tours. As for the hostel itself, it's got plenty to like about it. They have activities to participate in like games and stuff. Our room was big enough and had quite a few amenities. There's a pantry. As others have already mentioned, the air conditioning can be loud. The good thing is they offer ear plugs. Get booked at this hostel for a more affordable option while staying around here. It's located on Lemon Road. There's a few other hostels around it but this is the best option it seems.

Great vibes, price, clean, and safe. Great for solo women travelers as well. CLEANLINESS- Each guests deserve a clean stay. This hotel was very clean everywhere! The common areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. housekeeping comes everyday to each room and thoroughly cleans. SERVICE & HOSPITALITY- One aspect of a great experience at an establishment is the service of the staff. At this location, I was amazed. The staff was incredible. Out of all the hostels I've been to(and I've been to many) this was by far the best. Out of all the hostels in Waikiki, this one had the best vibes, events, and people. Medusa was fantastic at getting people together for events... we did Karaoke, movie nights, pancakes in the morning, and more. She really created a safe environment for solo travelers to feel comfortable to join in when they don't know anyone or what to do. Join the WhatsApp group for additional info, when you check in. SAFETY- If you have a family, you know safety is number one. My input on safety in this location is I felt safe in the rooms, common areas, and in the location in Waikīkī. Wasn't afraid to go alone at night. RESTAURANT AND OTHER HOTEL SERVICES- During your stay if you are interested in eating here, I'd recommend checking out some of the tours the hotels have partners with. We went shark diving, and a circle tour around the island with people from the hostel. It was amazing! BANG FOR YOUR BUCK? Is this too expensive for the quality of the stay? This is perfectly priced and you'd be missing out if you don't go. EXTRA NOTES: If you rent a car, you can park on the street 1 min walk from beach Lockers in rooms(bring a lock) Ping pong, games, hangout area Food place next door ABC convenience store next door

These are just rooms. It's like an upscale camping experience. You do share showers & toilets and there is a blow dryer!! . But it is not what you would assume. People were very friendly, respectful, & just humble! It's like taking a shower at the gym after a workout! My hubby & I are trying to enjoy every bit of hawaii without draining our account. We really want to experience camping but with 2 toddlers (3 & 2 year olds) we weren't sure if we were capable of handling 2 kids and the wilderness. This place gave us the opportunity to assess ourselves. We packed beach gears, our own grill, a Crock pot, the rice cooker, our frozen marinate, the perculator for the cold nights of kaneohe in December and off we went. The first night we checked in it was really chilly out and too dark to explore. So we went straight to bed...beds were nice and soft. Too soft for me but was comfortable . Next day it was so windy out we went to the cottage side beaches for grilling & beaching. It was breath taking. Kids played all day on the beach and didn't want to leave. It was our first night as well to try the showers! The shower room is key card entry only so you know each person there is checked in and is a guest as well. The showers are nicely HOT!!! My whole family had great HOT SHOWERS during our stay...which was much needed on our cold windy nights out. All rooms has air conditioning so that was nice. We really spoiled ourselves calling this a camping experience. Lol. But it was a good price for all the amenities. Bring Clorox wipes. Any spill of food ants come out. It doesn't bother me I grew up in Guam (it's an island thang) so I just wipe them off and clean as I go each time I or my kids have meals. And if you forgot ANY THING at home....MCX Shoppette near the main gate amazingly has everything! That was an A plus! Last day we spent it at the SUPER PLAYGROUND. The kids loved it. There was a barbecue pit nearby so we grilled some kalbi while children had a blast. It was a nice 4 day weekend well spent with the family. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

The added furniture and electronics are a 22 inch flat screen inside an entertainment system, dvd player, a desk, small dining table able to seat three people, and a sliding mirror closet. Space is limited for storage with 4 people but doable. The kitchen has a sink, coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator and drying rack. Also, comes with utensils, tongs, and spatula for grilling. Recycling and general waste bins included. Cabinets for food storage is adequate. No stove top or hot plate. Bathroom sink is tucked into a hallway and the bathtub with shower and toilet are inside an adjacent room. Showerhead is extremely clogged and no longer sprays but comes out in a stream. Water pressure is fine. Bathroom smells of mold. Outdoor play area has a small playground area with a couple of climbing rocks and small trees. Grounds are well kept. Permanent gazebo with outdoor furniture suitable for a couple of family's is at the center. Nice quiet atmosphere. Hotel amenities include high speed wireless Internet (D/L speed upwards of 1 mb/s but dependent on time of day), breakfast is catered daily and consists of pasteries, pancakes, eggs, sausage, rice, grits, and cereal on most days. Also includes milk, orange juice, apple juice, and coffee for beverages. Maid service can be provided daily if necessary. Grills are provided with propane and cleaning brush for public use. It's an affordable location to stay at and with just a few minor tweaks would be **** worthy instead of three.

The first day,…read moreI thought I was guaranteed to see an apparition, given the house was built in 1914, the history of Mānoa Valley, and the turreted Victorian architecture. But the more time I spent here, this house grew on me. I was lucky to have the Davies room on the third floor (note that there are no elevators, and there are no plans to add ADA access because the house is on the National Registry of Historic Places). Awesome view of Waikīkī at sunrise and golden hour. Being 6'1" the bathroom can be awkward with its placement under a steep-sloped gable, requiring me to stand a little closer to the shower head and sink. The house has that smell like grandma's house, but it's expected with any wooden building this old. Top-notch antiques decorate every corner in a tasteful way. The saltwater pool is an added comfort, and the breakfasts made to order by Tomomi and her daughter is plain ol' good homecooking. Owner Scott Glen put a lot of money, time, and sweat into making this place wonderful. The five ducks, cat, and miniature pinscher are fun housemates!

I was lucky to have the inn pretty much to myself. I was afraid that it would be haunted but I felt a welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. I took the John Guild Suite. I felt sad to learn John Guild had embezzled money from the Dillingham company to build this house. He was caught and had to turn the home over to the Dillinghams -- had a quiet evening after having an Italian dinner at a nearby restaurant. Was very quiet and I slept very well. The family that took over the inn was very pleasant and created a terrific breakfast in the morning. I will be returning when I can. You would need to climb stairs if u want the John Guild or Dillingham suites. I did see a clown loach in the aquarium. Haven't seen one in ages and remembered that in the wild they can grow very large. Checking out was done smoothly and felt refreshed to begin the work week again

This is a perfect place to stay for a couple or young family that wants to spend their money on activities on Oahu. We stayed in a one bedroom and one bath with kitchen and a washer & dryer. There was a roll away single bed in the closet and a couch that converts into a double bed. I'm not sure their rules, but you could accommodate 5 people (but you would have to be pretty good friends. We were on the 19th floor with a nice Mountain View. There were two A/C units, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. There is a basic rooftop pool, or you can walk three blocks to one of the worlds most famous beaches. It is less than a block from the Kuhio Street entrance of the International Market Place. Yes, we did have to check in with the security guard; but he was very helpful. He helped get us an assigned parking spot. We would definitely stay here again. You can't beat the price, since parking is free and every other hotel charges you $35 a day. Hawaii is NOT about spending time in your room, so this place is a perfect place to make breakfast and get out & about early. We booked condo number 1003 and I posted the walk through of the condo on Youtube…read more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGHdRukjGN8 I did not include the bathroom in the walkthrough but it was nicely done with two sinks, bathtub w/ shower, toilet and a washer and dryer. The first thing you notice about the building is it's not in the "resort" part of Waikiki and there is trash on all the sidewalks. It is located just up from the major resorts and there are lot of more run down condo building immediately surrounding it. We did get to watch the Honolulu Police investigating a attempting break in at the building across from us which was interesting. The front lobby is being renovated and the main doors were locked and you could not enter with or without a key fob (May 2016). There is no "greeter" or personnel who work in the lobby or anywhere else you can check in with. It is up to you to fing the key for your condo and figure out how to get in and where to park. In the parking garage is all the old items they are pulling out of condos so there is plenty of parking and lots of old stoves, sofas, etc. Security for the building seemed fine. You needed a key fob to use the elevator and to get into the building. The one way around that is to simply walk in the outbound side of the parking garage as it is wide open. So don't let the "secure" garage fool you and leave your vehicle open. Our condo was supplied fine and fairly clean. We realized their cleaning service did not bother to clean under the bed or dressers and I found a lot of left behind items and sand under there when I looked. The views to the North East were fine and of the mountains and golf course. To the direct East and the South East it was a view of other buildings. My biggest complaint would be the daily garbage truck at 6am. The condos windows and walls do not block out many sounds and we were woken up each morning by the garbage trucks engine, beeper, picking up and dropping the garbage bins from the building across from us. The fire department is also just up the road and every few hours there would be an ambulance or fire truck running with its lights and sirens going down the street next to the condo. Unit had fully functional kitchen and washer and dryer which was nice. I did notice the dryer vented directly back into the bathroom so the temperature rose in the entire condo and especially the bathroom quite a bit when you did a load of laundry. The location is walking distance to the shopping and hustle and bustle of Waikiki and that is the only way I would recommend going out if your destination is within a mile or so. Parking is so incredible hard to find it can take half an hour or driving around trying to find somewhere to fit your car into. Contrary to what we were told the locals and others in the area are not on "island time" and seemed to be in a very big hurry to get where ever they were going so being cut off in traffic is a very common occurrence. We did not try public transport but there seemed to be a lot of buses and tour vans around the area. The highlight of the building is definitely the rooftop pool and BBQ area. There are several BBQ's which are hardlined into the buildings gas supply so you can cook up dinner on the roof. The view from the roof is great with 360 views from the beach to the mountains. Building is non smoking but I am not sure if that applies to the roof as there were tenants on the roof smoking cigarettes and one person smoking marijuana while relaxing in a chair. Overall this location was too busy and too much "hustle and bustle" in the area for our liking. The condo itself was clean, nicely sized, and very adequate if you like the busy atmosphere of a very urban environment. Next trip we not be going to Oahu and will go to Maui instead.
