Our lady server was so personable and always answered our questions with a big smile. We met the owner who was as friendly as his staff! Excellent service is always a plus! The food was well-cooked down to its bananas and arepas! This restaurant is highly recommended and they close at 10 pm most days, so if you're still out and about at a later time, this is definitely a good place to get some delicious food! Order the platters! It's like getting the best of the varieties. Get the ham and cheese roll or the buñuelos and the pastrSo good!

First time at a Colombian restaurant with a couple friends who like to explore a different foods…read more We tried empanadas, chorizo, and then got a large meat platter, which had steak, chicken, pork and chorizo along with french fries and baked ground potatoes, it was four people, and the three of us could not finish it, and would feed5. Overall, the food was OK, the presentation of the fish at another table looked very nice, but the style of food is not really seasoned and so it's a relatively non-gastronomic meal but you leave feeling full. Maybe I expected more because I like Mexican and Thai food, but went into it with an open mind. It was clear that a lot of local Latinas went there, and that is a good sign that it fits the cultural expectation. So if you are Latina and know what to expect it is a good restaurant to try

Our first night on our short weekend getaway and we didn't want anything fancy. Luckily we found…read moreMonte's Cafe and some absolutely fantastic food! Started with chips and salsa - made on-site and they also brought us three sauces, also made on-site - a jalapeño sauce, a red sauce and a tomatillo sauce. 100% recommend-all were delicious. We decided to split our meals and ordered a chicken burrito and the shrimp quesadillas. The burrito was very tasty, with what seemed like freshly made refried beans and delicious chicken. A little too much rice for me, I would have preferred less rice and maybe some grilled onions and peppers. The shrimp quesadillas were NOT what we expected. The shell seemed almost flash fried and in addition to the shrimp it had lettuce and melted manchego cheese. It was really, REALLY good. Service was great and we weren't rushed. There were four other tables filled while we were there and three of them were speaking Spanish which made me feel like we chose the right place. Seriously, I felt like the food here was made someone who'd been cooking like this for decades. A very cool little restaurant that I cannot recommend enough! Great food, great service, and a great location. (Sorry, forgot to take pics here)

Montes cafe is easily the best Mexican restaurant in the area for my liking…read more The service is always good. Whether we dine-in or take-out we never have any issues. The restaurant itself is a good size with roughly 12 tables. It always appears to be clean and well kept. Their birria is my favorite. I've had the pizza (for 2), the tacos and the quesadilla, all always delish. My wife typically orders the mushroom quesadilla which are really nice and fresh. We enjoy Monte's and you would too.

This was my first visit. I tried the pulled pork rice plate which includes rice, beans and potato…read moresalad. Pulled pork was perfectly seasoned. I loved how moist and juicy the pork was. The potato salad was smooth with some chunks of potatoes and a light crunch from the veggies. My favorite was the beans that pair perfectly with the rice and meat! All this for only $12!!! Wow! I highly recommend it. I also tried their beef empanadas. They were excellent. They're fried to order and homemade. There's a lot of filling and the beef inside is perfectly seasoned. The last time I had empanadas this good was at my Puerto Rican friend's house where his grandma made them! A close second was in Rincon, Puerto Rico. These are that good. They're a must try. This a lovely local neighborhood corner takeout restaurant. You can call ahead to order your food to avoid the the wait. The owner and staff are all very friendly and happy to answer any questions and provide recommendations. They have a tv in the waiting area and some drinks for sale. Inside is very clean and everything looks new and well organized. The food all homemade and delicious. Portions are very generous and a great value for what the charge. I'm looking forward to trying more of their food. I highly recommend it! It's definitely worth a trip to check it out. Support your local restaurants.
