The Loretta Paganini School of Cooking is located in a snug and cozy older house. They have a small shop of chef-driven cooking supplies and one main room for cooking classes. The main room is smaller and I imagine can fit 10 people. This was my first cooking class ever and I loved the slanted mirrors on the ceiling to see instructions more clearly. Chef Loretta is SO talented that its probably easy to forget we're just simpletons, but she was able to laugh off the mistakes we made as true beginners. We had no idea what to expect prep wise, but everyone in the class was given different duties for the dish (so you yourself were never making it all). My brother suggested Civilian Defense Academy and I have been thrilled with them. In February I started with the Learn to Shoot class and absolutely loved it. They keep the classes small and only work with a few people at a time during the range portion. That was fantastic because James was right there to watch everything I was doing as I was loading and shooting the various firearms he provided for practice. He was there to answer all of my questions and offer suggestions on improving my form and accuracy. Yesterday I attended the Concealed Carry course to get my license. James and Bruce are very knowledgeable and put everyone at ease right from the beginning. They make it fun and really interesting while still being very professional and making sure to stress the importance of safety - for you and everyone around you. The idea of sitting in a 10 hour class about firearm safety, mechanics, use, ammunition, maintenance and legal responsibilities sounded a little daunting but I had a great time. They made it so interesting that it seemed to take no time at all. Even the seasoned hunters in the class said they learned a lot and everyone in the class seemed to really enjoy themselves. I would not hesitate to recommend CDA to ANYONE looking to get their Concealed Carry License or simply looking to get comfortable with using a firearm. They have these kids complete the classes and then offer to schedule their driving test for them and if the teens decline to test with them because word on the street is that they are failing the kids on the 1st try so that they have to pay an additional 130 bucks, they take their time sending over the certificate so they are able to test on their own. Ari is a true POS! And this school is a SCAM!!!!!
