From the first call to the last I felt heard and truly cared for as an individual. I spoke and corresponded with student services, bursars office, my academic advisor, the information technology department and the phone operator numerous times. Each interaction was reassuring and supportive. Now, with two classes remaining between me and my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Law and Society, I definitely recommend this college as a traditional student or a UCAP student. I found that I was more than prepared for graduate school, and incredibly grateful for the required research & statistics classes built into the curriculum to obtain a BA in Psych. Not know as a party school, but here you will find a tight knit community especially amongst peers in your same field of study. Great place to be if you're taking your academia seriously, if not don't waste your time. This school also has lots of scholarships and gracious donors, so don't let the tuition be a deterrent. He was so knowledgable, that even after just a couple minutes of meeting him, I knew I could trust him with my life. *3. He was so patient, that it made us feel comfortable to ask questions, which I feel, in this line of work, is VERY important. *4. He kept the class interesting, it was an all day course and For someone who has a short attention span the material and his lecture kept my attention. The day actually kind of flew by. The range time was also very informative. I liked that I had my own coach that walked me though everything and helped with any specific issues that I had. My coach was Jason, he helped explain what I was doing wrong and how to correct. He was really personable and patient. There were a total of 5 coaches including Nick our instructor from class. Sitting and watching the other coaches with other members of the class you could see that each coach was very patient and very knowledgeable and passionate about this field. Husband and I went out for dinner after class and actually starting looking at the other classes that they offer. I would highly recommend this business for the CHL class and even though I personally have not taken the other classes that they offer. I fully intend on doing so and would recommend them. Jay the manager didn't handle our situation professionally. One of the masseuse didn't show up but her fault but they knew this prior to us arriving. They let us sit and wait without telling us, we over heard the my people talking then about fifteen minutes past they tell us she's a no call no show. This really messing up my plans. The manager Jay should have said that coming through the door. She only suggested one of us get a massage. She being a manger I sure this isn't the first time happening. You always have a back up on deck to cover a no call no show. I'm a manager myself. So she should have stepped in and did the massage herself but she said she couldn't. A new student walked in for her first day. Today would have been a great day for Jay to put her to work and assist her day one. I bought the package deal she could have offered an certificate the there's nothing I can do was unacceptable!!! I'm upset because this messed up the surprise I had planned.

This review is on the cosmetology school (specifically the esthetics program), not the services…read moreprovided by students. During one 15 week period in 2018 there were 5 different esthetics teachers. They also lost their manager and a cosmetology teacher during this time. Smoking was taking place directly outside of a propped-open emergency exit and smoking breaks are taken in addition to timed/clocked out breaks. Those that don't smoke are being exposed to second-hand smoke several times per day because they are just outside the exit with the door open. Students take lunches and breaks whenever they want to be unavailable to perform a scheduled service that they do not wish to perform, which leaves students wanting to get their hours completed doing all the services that other students don't wish to do. Students are told to collect their things at 30 - 45 minutes before the end of the day and while they are still clocking hours so that the staff can leave promptly at 5:30, even turning off the lights while students are still in the classroom. Fridays esthetics' classes had no teacher other the cosmetology teacher and therefore busy with those students. Juniors who are also supposed to be tested out of every service by the end of their first 5/6 weeks but are unable to because the class schedule isn't followed. Many advanced esthetics classes are supposed to be given on Fridays, but since there is no Friday instructor it took the juniors additional time to become seniors. Services sometimes could not be performed because they did not have the supplies on hand to complete the service. This didn't happen only one time. Students have been asked/encouraged to call state representatives about proposed state laws that will affect cosmetology schools and students. The students weren't asked that they call and give their opinion. They were given a script of what to say. Not only was that inappropriate to ask of students, but anyone who wanted "extra hours" could come in and call representatives on a day the school is normally closed. This was inappropriate, unethical and unprofessional to ask students to do the political bidding of a school. Arbitrary new rules are thrown at students without any notice and make no sense, such as, students are told that they aren't allowed in the classroom unless it's teacher approved and it can only be for an hour. They are expected to be on the floor. That would be fine typically but there is no common sense factored into this rule. Sometimes all the rooms are full, all the towels and sheets are washed and dried so there is nothing to do on the floor and nowhere but the classroom to go. Raphael's is a poorly run family business that the owner, Ralph Delserone, Is only interested in making money, not in the students or the student salon customers.
