I was told that I may need a new transmission but none was available. Dale discovered that they had another mower like mine with a bad motor but good transmission. Told office receptionist & she came back after supposedly talking to Dr Sellers & said he advised to wear for a week to make my eyes adjust to them. Called them to report I was unable to read books & after only an hour, glasses made me nauseous. I was told to continue wearing them & made me an appointment for a week later. Went to another optician to get a 2nd opinion. I was retested & found the prescription was wrong. Replaced lenses with correct prescription. When placing new glasses on with correct prescription I saw perfectly & am now able to read books as well. Called Family Vision & cancelled appointment. Asked if I could get some kind of refund if I returned the faulty lenses (used frames for new lenses). I was told "No". Dr Sellers said I should have "worked with them to get it right as it wasn't anything to get upset about". Really! I've worn glasses for more than 50 yrs & when receiving glasses they are to "fit" your vision, NOT have your vision adjust to a prescription that was clearly wrong & making the wearer nauseous along with unable to read. It was definitely a step back in time as we saw an original Radio Flyer wagon, pedal car and Schwinn bikes. As a child this was the store to visit for toys, lawn equipment, tools and more. It is still the same store except this one is connected to a furniture store next door. I was always puzzled by this store because they seemed to carry everything but auto supplies. At least that was my perception as a child. This is the typical "small town one stop" store that carries so much more than you would ever expect. According to the employee the current owner's father opened this store in the early 1960's and I doubt that much has changed in terms of the inventory and set up. If you're not it in the mood for lunch they have a wide selection of items including breakfast, flavored waters, and shaved ice also.
