Today, they cancelled ANOTHER appt that they set up. My oven has been broken for over a year. Customer service told me months ago that they would replace it. They keep ordering the same parts over and over and none of them fix it. I've been lied to, hung up on, and they have cancelled several appts, 2 on the same day they were scheduled. This has been a nightmare and just TRY to deal with them through customer service. I dare you. A report to the BBB is coming. If I could give them NO stars, I would. Terrible company. I asked for Sears to send me someone to look at my dishwasher, clothes washer, and clothes dryer all in the same appointment. The only way to do that, evidently, was online, rather than speaking to someone directly. Although I was challenged by the automated system, I finally got the appointment I wanted. Sal was very cheerful and very helpful. He got in under things, took pictures to show me as he described what he saw, and gave me quotes and good advice for my next steps. They will absolutely work in a pinch, but at a cost... Their labor mark-up is pretty incredible. $325 to replace a dishwasher drain pump, $400+ to fix an over knob. That said, they were able to comet next day and the technician did a good job... Just feels a bit like price gouging. Between the phone call and during the visit, they do everything they can to get you to sign up for the $50/month warranty. It covers everything in your house they say! But not the items you are calling about today. Oh and every visit is a $75 deductible. I'm sure some people think $600/year is worth it, but I wouldn't fall for it. read more

The form I filled out for the service call indicated that I had a dryer that wouldn't heat. Rick did todays install (our 6 in house appt, our first return tech out of the 5 that we have seen.). Seemed to know his stuff. Professional. Our overall experience with your company has been a nightmare. The previous tech (Wayne) told us to contact him back directly, but then failed to respond. Similar too previous techs. The company really needs to handle things differently if you want customers to return to you and your business partners. I would choose to use a different company to buy from, than risk working with your company. But Rick did great. Time will tell if the issue with the stove is actually fixed with those 2 parts being replaced a 2nd time, but Rick did great on the install and customer service side of things today. read more

My technician Brian did a good job of keeping me updated on the status time of my claim and ultimately fixing my oven. Unfortunately whoever was responsible for ordering the parts needed to repair it, must not have ordered them all at the same time, because of the lapse in time for everything to be received. I was without a working oven for a month...not a good thing. Really surprised they decided to fix it considering it is nearly 20 years old. Not happy with that decision considering the ridiculous time frame it took to get the replacement parts. read more

It would appear from previous reviews that Sears has seriously stepped its game up or that our tech was simply an anomaly because I truly have no complaints. I scheduled online without issue, the whole system was convenient and quick and there were many times available. The $89 diagnostic quote was more than reasonable particularly as it was applied to any service that was needed. Our tech arrived within the 8-12 window as requested and was very friendly. He explained everything he was doing and looking at, and even helped us adjust some issues we'd found in our set up that were just user error. He found some error codes, made a couple tweaks and stayed for a whole wash cycle to ensure our product worked. He didn't try to sell us anything and only charged us for the costs associated with the diagnostic as no parts were needed for the repair we just made a couple mistakes in setting up our machine that were causing issues. I would definitely use this service again, cost hundreds less than other prices we were quoted and our machine is working perfectly now! read more

David B. Came to my home to diagnose why my refrigerator lights were not working, yet the freezer lights were. I had already changed all the light. He immediately told me it was the compressor even though the refrigerator was working. I said if the compressor didn't work the refrigerator wouldn't cool, he disregarded that and told me it was the compressor and he couldn't touch it. He was extremely rude and handed me a bill for $63.65. I tried to call Sears repeatedly but only got pre taped recordings.. extremely frustrating!! Horrific experience and they did not even show up to fix my dishwasher. Had a time between 8:00AM and 5:00 PM and the estimated time changed 3 times without notification. The last update on the website I received was 8:00 PM. Called to question this and no one seemed to care that I took time off of work and planned my day around the 8-5 time frame. We were charged a diagnostic fee without a proper investigation. I am appalled that the technician was comfortable charging someone a $100 for doing absolutely no inspecting. He used our restroom longer than he looked at the dryer. Frankly, this feels like we were robbed. We were told that we would be receiving a follow up call regarding our complaint within 72 hours. However, it has been a week and we have heard nothing. The whole reason we went with sears is because it is a reputable company. My thoughts have changed after this whole ordeal. I've been rescheduling repair appointment since September. It's January now and once again Glenn W. the technician was supposed to come and do the stove repair. The parts were mailed to my home in October. No matter how many times Glenn W. pushed my repair time to the end of the day... he never calls or arrives to do the job. Today he was supposed to be here at 1pm. That got pushed back to 3pm and so on and so on. It's now 5pm and I'm next up but according to the repair vehicle tracker he's 20 miles from my house. Simply put, they did not fix the problem. The ice marker in our Kenmore refrigerator stopped working around Christmas 2017. After 4 sales calls (first one to diagnose the issue, 3 additional to fix the problem) including a long wait while ordered parts were delivered, we're at March 2, 2018 and the issue still hasn't been fixed. Additionally, I'm roughly $500 in with no resolution. The actual repair folks are nice enough, but the process through Sears customer service to schedule an appointment is painful and tedious. You aren't working with someone who speaks English as a first language. There are plenty of options out there for appliance repair. My advice is to steer clear of Sears. read more

Wish I would've checked online reviews of Sears Home Warranty and saved myself the payments! I've been attempting to get my refrigerator repaired now for nearly a YEAR and still no results. I've had to have my claim reassigned TWICE and both times, due to Sears Home Warranty's awful business practices, both companies backed out of their assigned job or were unresponsive to requests and I can't get a return phone call from the most recent company to finish the repair. This has been a complete waste of both my time and money. For the amount of frustration I've endured being on hold, the amount of food that has been wasted due to my refrigerator being too warm OR too cold and the monthly payments towards a service that isn't provided - I would hope I can recoup some sort of money at this end of this less than stellar experience. Thank goodness my contract is up and I can cancel the renewal because I down right refuse to pay money into a service that isn't going to deliver their promises. Highly do NOT recommend! read more

Sears can't go out of business quickly enough. I Bought a Kenmore "Elite" (emphasis added) refrigerator 5 years ago (July 2012) . In those 5 years the fridge broke 6 times, and it was never a minor malfunction. Twice it was the computer circuit board. Once the condenser. Twice the compressor. The sixth time it broke, which happened just days ago after it was repaired, I went out and bought a new fridge at a local appliance store. As bad as Sears products are, their service under their purchased extended warranty is even worse. When you call, the earliest you can get a scheduled appointment is at least one week. Then on the day of the appointment the tech is either never on time (hours late) or doesn't show, requiring a reschedule and another wait. When they do come, they have to order parts which takes at least a week for delivery, then you go through the same wait to see if the tech will show on time, if at all. Complaints fall on deaf ears, too. The folks you talk to on the phone all have the book of excuses on their desks, as they attempt to mollify you with lies about why the tech was late or never showed up. My favorite excuse was "the appointment was not downloaded properly into the system." Interesting since I was getting both emails and text messages from Sears that confirmed my appointment and tracked the arrival date and time of the repair technician, with messages saying "Your Sears service repair technician is less than 1 hour away," or "Your Sears service repair technician is arriving shortly." My favorite text message from Sears said, "Your Sears service repair technician has arrived." Nope, he never showed up, and never called. Despite all my complaints and inconveniences, Sears offered me a $500 credit toward another Sears appliance. Yah, right! Even better was the one technician that came and said that the Kenmore fridges and other Kenmore appliances were the worst that Sears sold as they were the ones that need the most repairs. Run from Sears. They are not the old Sears that we all remember. read more

Their Service is horrid. Broken Fridge, waited 2 1/2 weeks for them to come. Tech showed up after time window, told me what was wrong and said he had to order part. Ok, great, said to order it and paid for it, set up next appt. for 2 weeks later. Part received 2 days later. Day of appt, 1-5 time period, left work to come home, get told they have cancelled my appt. and no one can tell me why! Over 2 hours on the phone, transferred 12 times and hung up on 3 times. Finally get told they will come on July 20th, a full month later. I told them that was unacceptable, I can't go another month without a fridge. Oh well, they can't get here any earlier! I ended up getting someone else to put the part in. Even worse, they charged my card for labor to put the part in that they did not show up for! Still disputing the charges with the CC company. Will NEVER use them again and would not recommend them to anyone! read more

I will never use sears repair service again. I waited a month for him to come, came looked at my mower , said it needed a new carburetor, made a return spot date for two weeks , but said if the part comes sooner call & get appt sooner. The Part came 2 days later, I called to change the CD appt changed from June 9 to an earlier date, & they said they were so busy , no chance , but to call back daily, which I did to no avail. Two days prior to 6/9 , I called & they said he would still be here on the 9th. On the day of his return appt, I called early in the am, & they said he was still on schedule , he was to arrive between 10& 2. Again I called at 11 & they said he's still on schedule, he should be calling you when he's enroute to your home. At 1:30 I again called & they said oh yeah he called off this morning?? WTH, when were they going to call me, but they quickly said we can reschedule for July?????? OMG, I then had to get someone else to fix it, & oh wait I didn't even need the carburetor?????whatttttt, rip off much sears. I was on the phone for 4 1/2 Hours with sears that day, & finally they said they would take the amount I was charged off of my credit card, well they didn't, now I guess I need to spend another 4 1/2 hrs on the phone to get that taken care of. I might also add , my tractor is a craftsman, only 3 years old , & I have had problems with it from the start. Horrible products, horrible repair service , horrible customer service! I am VERY disappointed in Sears. I had a repair man come to my house on Tuesday the 19th of September. The repair man was awesome. He figured out what the problem was but did not have the part to fix it. He ordered it for us and said that is should be delivered Friday (22) or the last Monday (25). We never received it. I called on Tuesday (26) Sears and they said that someone would call me with 24 hours to let me know the status of the part. Well it is now October first and I have received nothing. I will think long and hard before I EVER buy a product from Sears or call they repair department. VERY VERY disappointed!!!! read more

Scheduled repair for a Maytag dryer. They have canceled 6 appointments on me, ordered the wrong part 3 times, and after they order the part it takes 1-2 weeks each time to come in. After a month and a half dealing with them and not getting my dryer fixed I'm throwing in the towel. They also over charged me since I found out it was covered under the manufacturer warranty. Now I'm fighting with them to get a refund and I'm sure it's going to end up in small claims court. Did my oven get fixed? Yes, after 3 visits and 6 weeks had passed. Called a&e factory service, as I had good experience years ago. Now same company sends Sears, which was ok with me. Had bad electrical ignitor switch, told part would be ordered, sent to me, and he would return to install. Got part, but due to inadequate inspection of how it would be installed, next visit turned into ordering more parts, and another visit. Also had payment issues, with me having to wait to see if I'm being charged twice - not sure if personnel issue or billing process. Wouldn't call again or refer to friend. read more
