Scheduling is a problem. For both service calls I had to be home from 8 to 5. Both times the service call STARTED AFTER 5. The automated attendant updated me late in the afternoon for each visit. On the "install visit" the automated attendant erroneously called saying the tech would be early on one call and then the next call told me after 5. For the final repair, I had to reschedule a 7 PM meeting, as the tech arrived a 7:26 PM. That seems like a shortfall in a focus on the customer. How about an update early in the day to either a morning window, a mid-day window or a late day window? Sears certainly has them sequenced by the morning of the call. read more

I would never consider purchasing an appliance service plan because of all the trouble I had with getting the part and getting service scheduled through your AI system and operator outsourcing. My service was rescheduled four times saying the part had not arrived when it was sitting in my home the whole time. I could not communicate my situation with your operators and it was frustrating beyond what I could have ever imagined. I hope you will reconsider the path that you have taken, having no human English proficient operators available. I will look for another company when I need appliance repair. read more

Needed service on my dryer that was about 5 years old. Charge would be $129 for the call, to be applied to the fix if I agreed to fix. Part needed was a new knob, but with the call and labor, it would be close to $500. if I signed up for the annual warranty plan for all appliances for about $65/month, they could take $100 off the cost of the repair today, I declined. Very expensive, and significantly overpriced for the service needed. Paying top dollar I would expect flawless service. Our service call was cancelled twice, with no notice either before or after. We had to chase service, and the AI system used was obviously set up to ignore negative issues. It was not easy to work with the company however the service tech was great. I specifically asked for a morning appointment due to a doctors appointment at 1:00. I was given the typical 8 - 12 time. The night before I was told i would get an email with a better estimate. The next day at 11:30 I got on the website to see that my expected arrival time was 8:59 am. LOL this was at 11:30. At 12:15 if got a text that said the driver would be there at 12:02??? He arrived at 12:20. Brandon was very nice. However he had no clue what he was doing. He asked what codes i was getting and proceeded to google the fix? My appointment was today 1:00-5:00 p.m. I received the text and confirmed everything required. I received a reminder text this morning. I paid someone to be onsite all afternoon. At 4:40 p.m. I contacted Sears via text, phone, and website. Once the bot found my order, I was informed the technician would be there between 1:36 and 20:06 p.m. - this was at 5:00 p.m.! Not satisfied with this answer, I went to the website, they gave me the same arrival time, but said my technician was one top away. And the map had him over 40 miles away. Then on to a phone call and yet another bot. They couldn't find my order. After trying multiple ways, they found it and I received the same answer. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SPEAK TO A HUMAN. The technician was nice. He then told me he found the problem and it was normal wear and tear and said he couldn't fix it as it has to do with electrical and Sears isn't covered by that. I then received a communication from the Warranty company (Choice) denying my claim as they said the technician reported that the piece was broken and not normal wear and tear. Sears Home Services (appliance repair) is a horrible company, at least in the Dayton, Ohio area. To begin with, the repair technicians are third party companies, not Sears employees. Then there is the fact they can only give you an 8-hour window on the day of repair. Then there are the no-shows without a call explaining why; we had two of them. After the problem is diagnosed, they insist on payment IN FULL for diagnostics, parts and the repair or they won't even order the parts. The parts came, but the repair tech never showed up. I ended up doing the repair myself and have been seeking a refund for the labor charge to install the repair part for over three months with no results. I have now reported Sears Home Services to the Ohio Attorney General's office for assistance. By the way, their phone numbers have all gone to AI assistants only; no humans to talk to, their online chatbot cannot discuss refunds, and there is no online info about how to talk to the billing office. This company should be banned from doing business in Ohio! read more

After waiting for over a month to have our refrigerator repaired, our technician called and told us he would be in a hurry to do the repair as he had other appointments. I reminded him that we also pre paid for a cleaning and maintenance service. Once he walked in the door, he said again they he would be rushing to get to another appointment. And again, I remind him that after the repair, we are expecting a $50 cleaning. STILL not sure we got that cleaning, but he bolted anyway. THE OTHER APPOINTMENT IS NOT MY CONCERN. I was really upset after finding out my dryer could not be fixed until the repairman that came could not fix my dryer until he ordered the part and had it delivered to my home. in the box that came was a copy of the payment receipt. &32.16 $190.00 cheaper than what I paid for the part. when I notified sears they said it was a mistake. no mistake. I contacted Amazon. the price was correct. and the labor was $299.00. a set price. The furnace didn't function at all for five (5) days and the day prior to the tech showing ups, the furnace began working. * Waiting for five (5) days to receive help / service is UNACCEPTABLE. The technician's diagnosis was a "fried computer," because the washer shut down during his inspection. The washer's computer never shut down for us like that before. He requested I go check the breaker box to reset, and I did. The washer still did not turn on, so he deemed the computer inoperable/dead. His diagnosis was established after about 15-20 minutes. I declined repairs. I paid the diagnostic fee because I thought I just experienced bad luck with a washer computer dying during inspection. I made an effort to call the technician back after he left our house. I tried calling him back because when my wife arrived, we looked behind the washer and noticed the outlet had a reset button. We pressed it, and the washer turned on with no problem. I called the technician, and left a voicemail. He never returned my call. I called Sears, requesting to get in touch with that technician or someone else. They told me they did not have another available technician to come by our house that day. I told them I was frustrated because I cleared my whole day to be at home within that window of time between 8am and 5pm, and our technician misdiagnosed the issue. I requested a refund, and the woman with Sears said it would be refunded back. I was never refunded. Your technician that you sent misdiagnosed the issue, and communication ended with him after he took my money. Not only that, but your company has given 3 false promises of a refund that I have yet to receiveu. I feel absolutely robbed by Sears. I am filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. read more

The technician showed up early, didn't call the cell number I gave, left, and rescheduled for later in the day. The technician didn't bother to show up during the rescheduled time.
