My 2 year old Samsung picture went out suddenly and since it was only 2 years old and a large 60" TV I thought I would try to get it fixed rather than spend $1,000 on a new one. I called and left a phone message and received a call back that day. An appointment was made for 2 days later and the technician diagnosed a problem with the LED panel. He gave me an estimate for the repair which was very reasonable and after ordered the part which took a couple days to receive, he came back (At no extra charge) and picked up the TV, repaired it and I had it back 2 days later and it is working good as new! Very pleased with the service, knowledge and professionalism of The TV Shop and would recommend to others.

Last company I used was very nice, but it was a hefty bill and it took a handful of days for them to come over, determine what was wrong, then a few more days to order the part. This was also in the summer time when I love having ice in my drinks. This time I sent out what I thought the job required via Yelp to several companies. Larue Mechanical Services was one of the first to respond. On top of that they were able to determine what the likely cause and fix was (basically just replacing it) and give me a total estimate cost of the repair before they came over. Other companies were able to provide me their service fees but their hourly rate would vary depending on the job. This isn't uncommon from what I can tell, but I like the fact that Larue was able to give me what they thought it would cost. I understand not all jobs can work like that as repairs can be more complicated and determined on site, but it was part of why I chose them. They were communicative, got the part ordered asap, and replaced it all in 2-3 days. The repair happened on a Friday, and turns out, there was a small error in replacing it. The new ice maker was just dripping water all over and freezing. I let them know this on a Saturday and, despite being closed, responded that they would have to come back out. They responded to several texts about what to do in the meantime to stop the water from building up any more (again while they were closed on a weekend). They were, unfortunately, swamped all day Monday with emergency calls from the weekend. As much as I wanted my machine repaired, I would not classify it as an emergency either. They were able to come out on Tuesday and get it all fixed up though. The final bill was just a little cheaper that what they previously estimated, which was nice. The final bill was also about significantly cheaper than the last repair I had on this freezer. I am going to call Larue first if I ever have an appliance repair need again (which I am sure is a matter of "when" not "if"). The gentleman who did the repairs also took a little time to give my cats and dogs a little attention to let them know he was a safe visitor, which was very nice to see as well.

The automated attendant updated me late in the afternoon for each visit. On the "install visit" the automated attendant erroneously called saying the tech would be early on one call and then the next call told me after 5. For the final repair, I had to reschedule a 7 PM meeting, as the tech arrived a 7:26 PM. That seems like a shortfall in a focus on the customer. How about an update early in the day to either a morning window, a mid-day window or a late day window? Sears certainly has them sequenced by the morning of the call.

On the first trip to my home, the repair seemed to go as planned without any issues. A few weeks later, the washer began making a grinding, creaking sound when it went into a high spin cycle in the area of the repair. Of course, this prompted me to contact the aforementioned company again to revist the issue. I was advised in advance that I would have to pay for a second service call, even though this was looked at previously. I wholeheartedly disagree with this decision. The repair person came back and replaced the same pump he originally replaced. Once again, a few weeks later the problem got even worse. On my third call to the repair service, the repairman agreed to come back to take a look at the washer now that the noise was getting unbearable when it was in a spin cycle. Keep in mind that I recorded the video/sounds on my smart phone to help him diagnose the problem. On the third visit he only stared at the machine and said "I don't know what the problem is." He didn't take it apart, nor did he try to troubleshoot the problem and the issue with my washer is still unresolved. At least I didn't have to pay for another service call. I do not recommend this company for repairs or any other services they provide. I would contact a corporate owned or a national repair company vs. this local company.
