Had an overall very good meal at Seared, a beautiful space at the amazing One and Only Palmilla resort.

We had our best dinner at Seared on our last visit to Cabo. It is definitely our favorite restaurant! The food, drink & ambiance are all first rate but what really sets it apart is the service and the chef. Ernesto, our server, took really good care of us and made great recommendations & was so friendly and kind to us. The whole staff was excellent! The talented chef, Alejandro, came over to our table to meet us and couldn't have been more gracious. We enjoyed the elote Margarita and the Mezerac drink, grilled shrimp, Caesar salad , corn ravioli, Dover sole, tenderloin and corn dessert. It was really a spectacular meal with the best service. The website shows a different restaurant than Seared. The picture shown is for a sushi restaurant, Seared is up a couple steps and dark w a very small outdoor space. The view was one reason for our selecting the restaurant. BEWARE: wine prices are 10 times retail cost. Bottle of Beringer is $200. Retails $20. Beringer By the glass $74. The food was good but small portions. Ordered 12oz NY Strip it was maybe 8oz. Waitstaff lacking, brought wrong order for margaritas twice. Forgot a Modela same 2 times. It's pay to play but the wine pricing is offensive. Made Nobu pricing seem reasonable. Which we enjoyed dinner 2 nights of our trip. read more

Do not go, not worth the price and they are deceptive in their billing. . Bartenders do not give itemized receipt so you aren't aware of the auto gratuity and you leave another gratuity. Asked the waiter the price to the sole and said it was the same as the salmon. Well it was double after the hill came. Just know they will take advantage of you. Will never be back to this resort for dinner and defiantly never to stay. read more

Having dined at Jean Georges namesake restaurant in NYC, I was anxiously awaiting my meal at Seared. Known for excellent steak and seafood, as well as impeccable service, this restaurant at the One & Only Hotel lived up to the hype. Our party of nine arrived on a Sunday evening to a relatively empty dining room. Much to our delight, the menu was personalized four us and our table had multiple servers who were all in synch throughout the night. They reviewed the beautiful cuts of meat with us and brought the bread basket to the table, which had a variety of offerings. The focaccia bread was the table favorite. It was really soft and well-seasoned. The only thing that would've made it better was if it had been warmed. They tried to grill it for us but that really didn't work out so well. It tasted burnt. But, they got points for trying. The fried ham and cheese amuse bouche was a great start and they were even very accommodating for the people in our party who were lactose intolerant and who didn't eat pork. Our table ordered the black truffle and fontina pizza, caesar salads, and the charred octopus. For our entrees, several of us got the crispy beef short rib with smoked chili glaze and a couple of people ordered the red snapper. The short rib was so tender and the sauce really sweetened it nicely. The fish was flaky and it came with a dipping sauce. One person in our party tried the bone-in ribeye, which was perfectly cooked. The chimmichurri sauce was really good too. Our sides included mashed sweet potatoes with chili butter and sea salt, creamed spinach, and sauteed broccoli, and fries. For dessert, I had the roasted corn souffle with chipotle ice cream and caramel popcorn, which was definitely an interesting combination. We dined for several hours and it was a really enjoyable evening. If I return to Cabo, I look forward to heading back over to One & Only and perhaps having tea or dessert in the nice outdoor space. read more

The service at this entire resort is IMPECCABLE. Top notch. There is literally not one single thing they could do better. I've never said that about a resort in my entire life. That being said, our experience at Seared was not much different than our experience at the resort. Great spot for a fancy date night in San Jose de los Cabos. The food we had was delicious from start to end: before we even ordered we were offered loaded baked potato soup shooters which were delicious, the mac and cheese we ordered with our meal was amazing, and the "sampler" platter of meats that we chose was a perfect way to be able to sample a few of the house favorites, and the truffle fries were a great pairing to the meats. read more

There was a lot to this meal "lost in translation". I admit to asking for substitutes & additions but they pretty much missed 50%. Not only that, the risotto they said was made with sushi rice & tasted like it had been made with vinegar or lime juiceZ. The caviar started I thought had a undercooked Beignet so I tore it apart before I realized it was a beignet filled with cream fraiche. The dessert was bleh.... & they completely lost that we wanted to add on A5 Waygu. Not my favorite dining experience... not the worst... not the best! read more

We didn't think that the steaks were exceptional. We had the filet mignon and tried 3 of the sauces, but didn't find any of it to be outstanding. In fact, I didn't like any of the sauces (she did). Shrimp appetizer 4/5 - standard shrimp cocktail served with cocktail sauce and a carrot based relish; large shrimp Colorado Lamb Chops 4/5 - delicious, melt in your mouth lamb. Served with a variety of sauces - my favorite was black pepper. Only complaint was it was very fatty. I know the marbling contributes to its tenderness but there was a lot of fat. Decor and ambiance is nice for a date or romantic evening. We had the corn ravioli and calabaza soup for appetizers. Ravioli was perfect, the soup was just heavy cream no other flavor. I actually used the basil sauce from the ravioli to improve the soup. Our NY strip was cut very thin and was super expensive, not impressed. 3.5 Let me start with the highlights: The views from the terrace are spectacular and we loved the serene location and beautiful setup. The Mac n cheese and the blue cheese salad were both great and the staff was extremely attentive. I ordered the chicken (which I learned was new to the menu) and my BF ordered the filet. He originally ordered the lobster tail, but they were out. Which seemed surprising since we were there early and there didn't seem to be many diners there.... anyway, both were good, but not great. The rice that came with my chicken was waaayyy over cooked, it had the consistency of paste. We also ordered corn and broccoli as sides. Again, both were good, not great. Top notch everything! Service was amazing! Food was outstanding. I would come back over and over everytime I come to Cabo! The sole was cooked to perfection and the oysters taste awesome with the tamarind marinade they serve with it. I thought I was vinegar until the waiter told me otherwise. This place had great food. I ordered the short rib. Although I had to return it because it was too fatty there was nothing wrong with the flavor of the dish. The cut of meat of very fatty so sometimes that happened. This is attached the One and Only Palmilla which is a beautiful resort to get dinner or even stay there! I think this is the best restaurant at Palmilla. It has gorgeous views and a few different set ups outdoors by the pool and indoors. There were 11 of us and everybody enjoyed their meal. I had vegan options, broccoli salad and veggie kebab, both were delicious. But the best part was the desert with marmalade, chocolates and nougat. We went for dinner last night to The one and only Palmilla. Dinner and service SUCKED, was gifted a gift card for my birthday Jan. 2020. The gift card expired Dec. 7, 2020, due to covid and the restaurant being close we where not able to go and use it. We went to have dinner a week later and they refused to honor the $250 gift card on a $1,400 meal (for 3 ppl). On top of that the food lacked any flavor and for the price was extremely disappointing. A fine dining experience that is kid friendly! If you are visiting Cabo and want a memorable meal you won't get better than Seared. Located in The One and Only Palmilla, this steakhouse is phenomenal. It is gluten-free friendly as they have many items that are GF but go above and beyond from beginning to end by bringing gluten free bread to the table to start and even ending with complementary gluten free chocolates. We started with salad and the black truffle and fontina pizza and it was pure deliciousness. Filet mignon was as expected, although I would likely opt for a fish next time as the filet mignon was perfectly cooked and had a really good chimichurri dipping sauce but it's something you can get at any good steak house. Be warned that the sides are for sharing as the portions for them are huge. The mac and cheese was surprisingly not a hit with the kids. The best part about the meal was the corn soufflé with chipotle ice cream and caramel corn. It's really hard for me to chose a non-chocolate option but this was one of the most palate pleasing and memorable desserts I've ever had. The corn soufflé is hot and buttery smooth and the ice cream and caramel corn provide flavor, temperature and texture variety. This was seriously the best dessert I have ever had. Good thing the dessert sweetened us up because the bill was HIGH. $500 for two women and two children is a lot in Cabo. But the service was superior and the food was fantastic. We came to this restaurant on our first night staying at the One & Only. Ambiance is very nice; the indoor portion is located behind the sister Restaurant "Suviche," and there is an outdoor patio that overlooks the ocean. I recommend sitting outside for the view! Service is spectacular. Drinks are great. I ordered the cabrilla (Seabass) which was very fresh and flavorful. I would order it again. My boyfriend ordered a steak, which he said was good but not great. For a steak house their steak was most unimpressive. The ribeye lacked marbling and overall flavor. They advertised a dry aged meat locker but only showed available one Jamon from Spain.
