The chef made some special dishes with a fresh caught Dorado that we brought him (ceviche, sashimi and Cajuned blackened) that was outstanding on one night, and the other night I had the seafood rice dish which was also excellent. This is one of the best ocean side bars I have ever been in. The views are spectacular. The bar is beautifully decorated with a high roof ceiling. We had an assortment of appetizers. The hummus was fabulous. The flatbread pizza was awesome. The garlic fries and sweet potato fries were all really tasty. Portions were large. Definitely the highlight of my recent trip to San Jose Del Cabo. The setting is amazing within the stunning Perilla resort right at the edge of the water. It's a 6 star restaurant in a 6 star resort and it's definitely worth it. The service is impeccable. A few items we ordered represented the best version of that dish we had ever had. Milpa salad: 6/5.. never knew baby corn could taste this good! Tortilla soup: 5/5 .. you have to have balls to serve this lukewarm by intent! The depth of the flavor and the consistency of the soup is just totally unique. Pastor Trompo Taco: 6/5... we got it without the pineapple (personal preference) It's essentially veal and pork but the marination was beyond my palate's experience and imagination. Probably the best taco I've ever had. Grilled fish: 5/5.. they call it the catch of the day "a la Talla"... a 6 oz sea bass topped with Quelites which I think is a catch all for Mexican leafy veggies. Seafood Risotto: 5/5.. called Mexican Risotto a la Tumbada on the menu... Octopus+Clam+Shrimp+Fish... Chile Relleno: 5/5.. this was off a separate Vegan menu and we added the cheese back.. Tres Leches: 6/5.. maybe the best dessert I've ever had. Even if you hated tres leches before you would love it after Agua's rendition. Wow! It's tough to describe Agua without superlatives.. the cliffside location, the amazing views, the hotel itself!, the service, the attention to detail in preparation, the quality of ingredients and most importantly the final product all really do make for a very unique experience. This was absolutely, by far, our favorite place that we ate while visiting Cabo. My husband and I visited while on our honeymoon and the staff made us feel so welcomed. The waitstaff and service was impeccable and probably the best we received from any restaurant we've ever been. The man in charge of the restaurant personally came over and made sure our meal was great. It's those little things that make the experience over the top. This was the most disappointing meal of my life. I've eaten all over Dallas and Vegas, among other travel destinations - so I know good food. This place has average AT BEST food, and outrageous prices. The sea bass was bad, and served over raw tomato's. Zero effort. Someone else had the seafood mix over rice or something and that was terrible as well. Tempura octopus was bad - and I love octopus. Truffle fries were pretty good, but it was obviously the fake truffle oil (which I think tastes good but I recognize the cheap stuff). Queso fundido was the best thing we had, and it still wasn't as good as we can get in Texas. Their wine prices are the worst I've ever seen. They charge $190 for a $20 bottle. Over a 9x markup is unreal. (Cloudline Pinot). We spend almost $2,000 for a meal that not a single one of us loved. Save your money and find a different place. read more

We went to Agua for a taste of the rich life while staying at a more mid range hotel on the corridor. Dinner was a la carte or tasting menu. Note that there are two seating options - one on the patio and one in the garden closer to the water. The tasting option for that "moonlight dining" option was $350USD for 2 people (or a la carte but youd be charged that amount). We were happy with the patio - it wasnt crowded, the band playing nearby outside the bar was great, and the service was excellent. I chose the surf and turf with a mole sauce and it was one of those plain meals that just hit all the right notes - I was really happy with it. Tres leches for dessert was amazing. Total bill with drinks around $290USD for 2, so roughly $100 less than the moonlight option after drinks. We also dined at The Cape, and I can say the two meals were equivalent as higher end dining options, but quite different. If you have time to do both Palmilla and The Cape I recommend both with a few days of taco's in between. Now time to hit the diet again. read more

I ate here every day on my trip, for breakfasts and dinners. Every meal was outstanding! Service was also exceptional. At every meal one of the managers on duty came to our table to introduce themselves and ask how we were doing. Very nice touch! The quality of food was top notch. Some of the stand outs for me were the salmon eggs Benedict (some of the best I've ever had!), the churros (came in a cute box, filled with dulce de leche and had chocolate dipping sauce- most delicious churros of my life!), and the mushroom fettuccini. 10/10 recommend! read more

We weren't to fond of the soup but wanted to try everything! The second time, we did the moonlight table with tequila tasting! This was amazing! Had the pleasure of dining here on both Christmas Day as well as New Years Day. This is a 10/10 place that really prides itself on providing an all around awesome experience. From the hostess to the servers, everyone is on board to make sure you enjoy your dining experience. They made sure our table was located in an ideal place, with a view and proper lighting. As for the food, I don't know what to recommend more. The shrimp appetizer is AMAZING along with their homemade bread ooo we had multiple refills just to dip in the sauce. For entrees, the risotto and catch of the day were delicious. Our absolute favorite were the churros filled with warm chocolate mmmm I want them now just thinking of them. If you aren't staying at One & Only don't worry, there are golf carts to transport you but it is just a short walk through the beautiful resort. Geographically it doesn't get much better. But then there's the food. The food was very nice, but incredibly expensive. Are you curious what I mean by incredibly expensive? I ordered grilled octopus as an appetizer it cost over $40 I ordered a 7 ounce salmon over a bed of mashed potatoes, it cost over $60. Now the octopus was wonderful, was it worth $40 probably Not. Let me go further... deafly not worth it. The salmon, the fish itself was perfect. Unfortunately the mashed potato was luke warm. For $60++ the mass potatoes should be hot. There was a small band of four people playing Mexican music, totally enjoyable. I gave four stars, I think it was generous giving the fourth Star. My dinner cost me $500. The food was $300 the wine 200. It was difficult to buy wine less then $200. read more

Very attentive service and a very nice view. It's a shame this place is priced the way it is. The menu has a number of very authentic Mexican dishes or dishes with authentic Mexican flavors, it's varied enough to spend a few meals here and it's generally well executed, but the price is just way higher than the quality (and even the convenience factor) would justify. read more

food wasn't memorable. we had fondue, caviar, oysters etc.. they were all either not good or okay. aside from the waterfront dining the service was actually very good. it was such a disappointment that we did not enjoy the food but I had to share this little dessert they brought out for us. I just thought it was so adorable and thoughtful of them. The chocolate cake was very good and we also had scoops of ice cream ( how could you go wrong that that! ) for dessert. Do not make reservations at this place!!! My family got an unexpected stomach bug while visiting Cabo San Lucas. Around 7pm the night prior we booked a reservations at this restaurant while everyone was still feeling well. That night my family member was throwing up violently for hours and so the next morning as soon as we woke up we called to cancel. They still charged our card $25 per person ($100) even though we were cancelling because we did not want to expose anyone at this restaurant to this stomach bug. We even explained our situation and they still refused to waive the cancellation fee. I'd rather go to 7 Seas which is close to this location and has just as nice as an ambiance. I will not be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family either. read more

For dinner, I had the Seabass, the flavors were excellent. Loved! And for dessert we had the chocolate moulon, jello tequila and chocolate covered nuts, all was exceptional. I only subtracted two stars because the service was poor. Upon being seated they did not give us a special menu for Valentine's Day, when we requested the valentine menu (paired courses with wine) the waiter said it's for "special" people. We said we are special . I had to ask for a blanket 3x. I asked for a cocktail/ wine 2-3x. We had two waiters although several times when we needed service they were nonexistent. Not sure what the disconnect was... For this type of restaurant, 5 star hotel, the service was lacking. read more

The service at this entire resort is IMPECCABLE. Top notch. There is literally not one single thing they could do better. I've never said that about a resort in my entire life. If you do ONE thing while you are in Cabo, come here and have the banana french toast for breakfast. Best french toast I've had in my life and I totally went back to have it again before I left. For breakfast they also have a mexican twist on the millennial favorite (avocado toast) that was good enough to have twice during our stay. We were not big fans of the dinner entree options, but not because they were bad -- just that they weren't amazing as all the other dinners we had on the property. read more

The views are undeniably gorgeous! We stopped here after a jaunt in San Jose del Cabo in the art district....the only art avenue. We opted for the air conditioned indoor section...still with ocean views. FYI...a bit pricey as it is in the Palmilla Resort...yes, the very one that earlier in the week had a cartel shooting on their beach. 3 dead, a couple injured. Supposedly tourists. But we decided to stop in despite the incident. We started our cocktails off with White Sands.... remember bomb pops? Yeahhhhh, exactly that melted. Super refreshing! One of our group ordered a coconut margarita...we all had had enough Pina coladas from our sunset tour the night before (another review)...but this margi was not sickeningly sweet like those. Almost like a key lime pie liquid form! I had the Woodfired chicken breast salad, basically a chicken Caesar salad....but an excellent salad! The chicken was flavored with just enough thyme and sliced it in a way that it was smooth, not so grainy...if that makes sense?! For the price, I felt it could've been a bit more robust...sliced avocados would have been a nice touch. 2 of my friends had the crispy fried tacos...flautas...& Really enjoyed them. Ask for their beans...so delicious! Smokey, blended black beans with...wait.. a hint of sausage?! Yummy! The seabass ceviche drew high praise from our 4th person...tart, spicy... perfectly seasoned & balanced! BUT it was not as flavorful as the ceviche at Chileno Bay Resort. Just sayin'! The only hitch was we ordered french fries before our meal as we were craving them....enough chips y salsa after 7 days...and they never arrived. We were disappointed but didn't notch them down a star for that. We finished with the apple crisp for dessert...wonderful flavors...by far the most creatively flavored part of our meal. The resort is gorgeous, everything from the approach to the team of friendly folks that embrace the spirit of hospitality. Grounds are stunning. The restaurant is set in in idyllic cove and does offer the feel of warmth, coziness and elegance all at once. The food is good, not great out of this world but simply good. They do have an extensive wine list as well as do offer really good services. (As they should at the prices they charge). The appetizers were great: foie gras, buratta tomatoes were both well executed. The tuna steak frankly was just ok (perhaps the curry accent was not the thing that I enjoyed by the presentation and quality of the fish was good). Dessert (hazelnut praline) was quite delish! Overall a pricey place in an gorgeous setting with good food and amazing ambiance enhanced by love music. read more

The menus are even backlit so you can easily read them at night! Octopus appetizer 5/5 - seasoned perfectly on a bed of tomatoes, chickpeas, and mint Seafood Paella 5/5 - huge portions, very filling Lamb Tajine 5/5 - tender lamb with wheat cous cous Praline Mocha Crunch with Salted Caramel Mousse 5/5 - sooo delicious! I am just a bumpkin from Las Vegas. This is the nicest resort I have been to, service wise. The room is beautiful but the time share I stayed in Maui may have been better. What makes this resort stand apart from any other including any 5 star Casino in Lost Wages is the service. Then again, I don't think they can compete with the wages. Yes, Aqua has the best service, but the whole resort runs this way. The scenery is gorgeous. You will see an iguana or two sunbathing if you are sitting in one of the parasol tables next to the ocean. As far as the food goes, it is good but not spectacular. The corn tortilla chips are soft so they may have been freshly made. The sea bass cerviche is about $40 for a small sample. If you like spicy then this is for you. The better half did not eat more than a spoonful because it was spicy due to some peppers. The citrus flavor masks the fishy smell if there was any. I don't believe there was since it's prob fresh fish. The fish tacos were cheaper and tasted much better. It's cooked just right. It's a soft tortilla filled with fish, some sort of lettuce and bean sprout looking accompaniment. It was good. The best? No. You can find it in a good fish place in Seattle or San Fran...an place with fresh fish basically. The Palm heart salad was ok. A bit bland for me since the dressing is salt, pepper, and a bit of vinegar. The lettuce was mixed exotic greens. Stingy on the palm heart side. I think we had 1-2. For dessert, we had tres leches. It was small but very tasty. It's it better than any other? Probably not. Is it made well? Yes, very well. As with any other restaurant in One and Only, better tasting food is found in Cabo San Lucas or San Jose. Check out La Pesca. Their shrimp is so much cheaper, fresh, and tasty. I had shrimp, octopus, and some other dish that all came to $26. and they gave us the choice of a Popsicle at the end. I think some people convince themselves that since this place is so expensive it MUST taste the best. I don't think so. Maybe the places they have been to lack good restaurants. What makes this restaurant stand out is truly the service and the views. What can make it better? Well for starters, the cerviche can have more than one small midget tomato cut in half. Beautiful views of the ocean and great food. We ate here our first night at Palmilla and what a start to our vacation! Aqua has a beautiful entrance with cascading water and a large open air bar. There is indoor seating, outdoor seating, and if your as lucky as us 4 tables on the lower section directly above the ocean. We had an incredible view and were able to hear the waves crashing as we ate. We started with shrimp enchiladas and fresh tuna wrapped in avocado. Both were excellent. For our entrees we chose the seared ahi tuna and ribeye steak. Again, both excellent high quality dishes that tasted great and well presented. We had the tres leches for dessert which was good, but not memorable. Yes Agua is expensive. You should have guessed that when eating at one of the nicest, if not THE nicest hotel in all of Cabo. This is a great option for a romantic dinner or special occasion while in Cabo. read more

Wow, what an amazing setting for a restaurant. If the ambiance isn't enough, the food is outrageously good too. My wife and I had been to Agua a bunch of years ago, and always wanted to return. Often, restaurants lose their luster, and the memory is better than the actual experience...but not this time. Try the tuna tar tar appetizer, it's so fresh and the flavors are incredible. Also, the NY steak dish is delicious, and big enough to share. Finally, the hazelnut praline dessert with homemade peanut butter ice cream was a very solid finish. Get ready for a true fine dining experience, put on your best threads, and have a fabulous date night at Agua. read more

VEGAN review - Holy moly this was one of the best meals and dining experiences of our lives. We spent a lot of time looking for vegan food in the area (it's a little tough and many spots are closed) and I stumbled on this place and we honestly didn't realize what a fancy situation we were getting ourselves into but it was definitely a happy accident. They have a separate vegan menu that is so thoughtful and creative. Everything we ate was incredible, especially the smoked watermelon app and the truffle pizza. The eggplant and plantain mole, chile relleno and charred salad were all delicious too. Chocolate cake and mango sorbet were to die for. The service couldn't have been better and they even brought us blankets on a chilly night. They offer "moonlight dining" but there's a minimum per person that would be hard to get to if you're solely going off of the vegan menu. Also, it seems all of the tables have amazing ocean views anyway. Bonus points for mocktails and NA beer. read more

I had just completed a fishing trip and was dropped off at the beach next to the Palmilla, I walked from the beach to the Agua restaurant and asked to speak with the Chef. Chef Larbi Dahrouch came from the kitchen and asked me to follow him to his kitchen where he asked to see what I had caught. I showed him 3 different bags of filleted fish, he knew immediately what kind of fish each bag contained and asked me how I wanted them prepared. I told him I would leave that up to him. My wife and I had the most incredible 3 course dinner, the best ceviche I have ever had from the sierra I caught, a yellow fin tuna salad, and a dorado cooked to perfection for the main course. Chef Larbi is a Master Chef, and a great asset to the Palmilla Hotel. Our service was exemplary, a great dinner experience. read more
