Celebrating my birthday in Cabo San Lucas and I got the chance to dine at Casa Martin. This restaurant has an incredible atmosphere. Literally beautiful, lush flowers all around, and a fantastic live singer. We had the tuna tartare, which was beautifully plated and full of flavor. Not to forget, the tuna was really fresh! The octopus tostada is a must. It was grilled perfectly and super tender, and the Serrano aioli paired perfectly with it. The chicken enchiladas were just okay to me. I think I would've enjoyed them more if they had some kind of kick or spice to them, or even a bit of zing. If you're thinking about getting the braised short rib, I highly recommend it. The portion was generous, the pasta was cooked al dente, and the short rib was very tender. The tomato sauce had a great balance. The lobster risotto came with big chunks of lobster meat and, again, was a really good portion for sharing. There's a slight taste of truffle in the risotto, but the combination of the lobster and risotto paired fantastically. By the end, I was really full and there was no way we wanted to waste any of the food. The staff knew it was my birthday and gave me an apple cobbler tart (I believe that's what it was) with vanilla ice cream. It was so delicious and the perfect way to end the meal. The live singer also came over and sang "Happy Birthday" to me, which was a nice touch. I truly appreciated our server Guillermo as he provided top notch service.
Casa Martín was my family's unanimous choice for our favorite restaurant on a recent trip to Cabo! First of all, the ambience is perfection: it's almost ethereal, with flowers, fountains, and hanging lights decorating a rustic courtyard. It was breezy, with low-level live music adding to the scene. The food and wine were excellent, and the staff was very conscientious of the dietary restrictions in our party. We got the Seafood Chile Relleno (roasted poblano pepper stuffed with shrimp, lobster, scallop and crab meat), the Catch of the Day (which on our visit was a lovely tuna), the Lamb Shank (braised lamb with a tomato and farro salad), and Braised Short Rib Bolognese (pasta with a braised short rib ragu made with red wine, tomato basil, and parmesan). All four dishes were delicious, five-star meals, but our favorites were the Catch of the Day and the Short Rib Bolognese. The tuna was seared perfectly, with the center rare. It was an expert preparation of very high-quality fish. The Bolognese was remarkably light and fresh for such a typically heavy sauce, and the fresh basil in it took it over the top in the best way. For dessert, we got both the Volcano (a chocolate lava cake served with vanilla ice cream) and the sorbet (mango and raspberry). Both were lovely! The chocolate lava cake came out piping hot, oozing rich molten chocolate when we cut into it. It was lovely alongside both the vanilla ice cream and the fruit sorbets. Casa Martín cemented itself as a must-go, must-recommend spot for my family!
Roger Martin has created what I think is the ultimate vacation restaurant. As soon as you walk in the wooden door you feel like you've been swept away and you're going to be taken care of plus eat great food. All of that is true, the ambience is just spectacular. It doesn't matter where you take a picture from. They are all beautiful. He's a wonderful chef who has created a wonderful menu and it changes on occasion, but I always find something that surprises me and delights me. The other night was no different, from the wine selection to the little nibbles that you get that are sent from the kitchen to absolutely the best fish tacos I've ever had thank you to Roger and his staff for another great night.
Excellent, Will return to Casa Martin. Perfect for anniversary, birthday, or a couples dinner. The ravioli, fish, pork was delicious. My guests loved it. Service was very good and the ambience quaint and Romantic.
Honestly during off season this place was pretty empty and for no good reason. The menu peaked our interest but the food was hands down excellent. We had the shrimp tacos in Al pastor sauce and the stuffed shrimp poblano pepper. Both choices were excellent and our server Antonio was a delight. Outdoor seating area. New restaurant for the area, but I wish I had room for more so I could try a few more items. We will definitely return. It was a bit hidden right next door to the mission San Jose Church down a small business center.
We came back! We were here last year, and it was so good we couldn't miss it this year. It was great of course! I had my favorite piccata chicken and my husband had the habanero pasta. It was all delicious! We tried the fish taco appetizer, and they were okay. I love the fine dining touches, cloth napkins, the bread, amuse-bouche ravioli, and after dinner almond cookie, nice touches. It's nice to sit outside by the fire, and the service is impeccable. The only thing I would fault them on is their eagerness to clear the table while I'm eating and drinking. Twice I had to say I'm not finished with that, but how can you complain about all the attention. We'll be back again!
A little off the beaten path, the taxi dropped us in front of an old wooden door and a hand painted sign. Walking in we were transported back in time to a beautiful dining room made of rock and wood and thatch. Live music from a gentleman fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian accompanied our dinner. Heck, I even got up and took the lovely Spensyr dancing. Having consumed copious amounts of alcohol earlier in the day, we all opted for just water, so no pretty cocktail photos to regale you with but the food was both beautiful and delicious.
Stunning, including the prices. But very high-quality. Wine list is over the top expensive. Atmosphere is over the top romantic. Food is extremely good. If you're gonna splurge and wanna walk down a bumpy dirt alley, this is your place. The night we were there they had a incredible singer. Beautiful and wonderful for those with the same kind of pocketbook.
Very pleasant hacienda style restaurant with variations on traditional Mexican food. Worth a visit on a special occasion because the food, service and ambiance is all exceptional, but it seemed to be priced out of the reach of the locals. In reality this is what we were looking for, sort of a quest for the upper tier of restaurants in Cabo. If you're looking, here is a great place to start.

The impression I got was fine dining Mexican cuisine and overall my style is towards more authentic and casual dining which this place falls short of with their upscale twists. The cocktails were excellent but if you're looking for more affordable and eclectic dinner out, this might not be it.
Casa Martin is a hidden gem off the beaten path of downtown Cabo San Lucas. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, all supporting your table during your meal. We came on around the Christmas holidays so there was a special prefixed menu, but there was a shorter regular menu available. We ordered off the shorter menu so we could have more options. The tuna tartar was fantastic, a large portion of fresh fish an avocado. We also got the triologia para compartir- tortilla chips with guacamole, roasted salsa, and pico de gallo. For mains, we got the chicken piccata (amazing, with angel hair pasta and sun-dried tomatoes), the shrimp diabla (three MASSIVE shrimp over polenta), the lamb shank (unfortunately the one we had was good but large chunks that were incredibly dry), and the lobster risotto (substantial portion of lobster). As "extras", we got an amuse-bouche of a decadent cheese homemade ravioli and ended the night with little almond cookie bites. Aside from the lamb shank, the only qualm we had was the margarita (tasted premixed and incredibly watered down), but otherwise the staff and manager were outstanding. Can't wait to come back.
Our meal at Casa Martin was by far our best meal and dining experience in Cabo. The restaurant itself is stunning, nestled in a cozy, well-appointed courtyard. We were blown away by our server - he was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable of the menu, especially navigating dietary restrictions, and spoke perfect English. Our group enjoyed numerous appetizers, salads, and entrees. Standouts included the tuna tartar, country salad, and pasta. We were thrilled about how gluten friendly the restaurant was - almost everything on the menu could be prepared gluten free by request. If you are ever in Cabo, I would highly recommend an evening at Casa Martin. You will not be disappointed!
My husband and I had a great experience at Casa Martin for dinner -- delicious food, nice outdoor ambiance, and great service! Our hotel booked a reservation for us and we were seated immediately upon arriving at the restaurant. At nighttime, the surrounding greenery plus the hanging lanterns gives the place a unique vibe that's perfect for a date night. We tried the two mocktails on their drink menu (Baja Roots and Tropical Berries) and both were very tasty; I especially loved the Baja Roots drink because it was the perfect level of sweetness for me! My husband enjoyed the Tropical Berries drink as someone who loves berries. For the food, we got the shrimp pastor tacos to start, and then we shared the grilled octopus and short rib pappardelle. Out of these items, the shrimp pastor tacos were my #1 favorite! These tacos were packed with flavor and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Both of the main entrees were also great, and the portions here are very generous. I was definitely stuffed when we left Casa Martin :D On top of everything we ordered, the staff brought out a complimentary small bite for us (tuna tartare on wonton crisp tostada) which was so kind! We dined at the Casa Martin location in Cabo San Lucas, which is a little ways from the center of town. The decor is beautiful, and it's a larger restaurant with lots of seating options. It was just me and my husband, but there were quite a few larger groups dining while we were here. The service is wonderful. We had two main waiters, both of whom were kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The cocktails and the wine we ordered were wonderful. I really loved the cocktail we ordered! Our dining experience was nice, but the food we ordered was just okay. I wouldn't call it some of the best of Cabo. Of our six dinners in Cabo, I would say it was probably our second to least favorite. But, that's not saying it was bad! It just wasn't on par with the other restaurants we dined at. First, I told the restaurant both when I made the reservation and when two different people at the restaurant inquired about food restrictions that I could not have cheese. The first thing served to us - an amuse bouche - was heavy on the cheese. It was a rather large ravioli, which was much larger than a normal amuse bouche -- and it had cheese inside the ravioli, a cheesy sauce, and cheese grated on top. So I could not eat a bite of it. My husband said it was just okay. The best thing we ordered here was the aguachile. It was beautiful, colorful, artfully presented, and absolutely delicious. So fresh, and well prepared. Loved it! Our main courses, however, were a little disappointing. They tasted fine, but ate more like the kind of main course you would order at a chain Italian restaurant in the US: heavy, chewy, and generic. But my personal saddest moment was when the churros arrived. I love churros, so very much. These looked beautiful, but when my husband and I cut into ours, they were all raw on the inside. So the flavor outside was delicious but we couldn't eat more than the ends of the churros. Overall, I enjoyed the experience of dining at Casa Martin... I just wish the food was better. I am hoping it was just an off night, and I look forward to revisiting this restaurant on a future visit to Cabo and hopefully having a better meal (but the aguachile was seriously so good - order that!). read more

Great service. Great Atmosphere. Great culinary experience. Our server was absolutely phenomenal. My wife loved the Caesar salad & the chicken piccata. The Habanero linguine is the thing to get here though! Wow! Our friends also had the lobster risotto. I added some anchovies to the lobster risotto & really set it off. The ravioli they gave each person, before the main meal comes out, is amazing! The signature cocktails were really light. Couldn't taste any alcohol. So consider that, depending on your preference. Great place. Highly recommend. read more

Took one bite and noticed pancakes were at room temp instead of warm. Waiter removed our plate and returned with the same plate a few minutes later. Plate was warm, but pancakes still the same room temp. Bloody Mary tasted like straight tomato juice and arrived in a small narrow glass with no garnish other than a thin lime slice. Coffee was the best part of our meal. Courtyard setting is very peaceful and nice. read more

Ambiance is nice but food beyond presentation wasn't much to write home about. The amuse Bouche was decent but the mains lacked flavor although were quite easy on the eye. Service was attentive and friendly; demonstrating both competence and knowledge of the menu. Churro ice cream chocolate dessert was a highlight. The lobster risotto was decent and the seafood chile pobleno was executed nicely but lacked depth in flavor profile. Prices are considering the restaurant is not proximate to the water. Overall I am iffy about recommending. read more
Fun & Fabulous restaurant down in the heart of Cabo. The food, drinks & service were fantastic! Octavio (sp, sorry) our server, was excellent and made sure we had everything we needed. Loved dining under the stars in this romantic place. Easy listening vocalist serenading us while we dined on fresh Snapper & Truffle Risotto with Lobster. The Roasted Chile Rellano dish was done with perfection. If you are in Cabo, pick your phone up right now and make your reservation. You will not be disappointed! read more

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Casa Martin and had a wonderful time. The food was amazing and the service out of this world. The restaurant was literally a whole in the wall and we would not have found it without a recommendation from a Cabo local. The ambiance was out of this world and the icing on the cake was the live music where the musician who had been entertaining us all evening, sang happy birthday to my husband. read more
We dined at Casa Martin in Cabo this evening, and oh what a treat! The restaurant is everything it's made out to be, and more... Antonio was our waiter, awesome job, attentive but not intrusive. Thanks Antonio! We started (and continued) the evening with cocktails, a gin martini and one of the house specials, "Keylime Pie" martini... both were outstanding, the graham cracker crust on the KeyLime martini was quite delightful! LOL The drinks were quickly followed by a complimentary amuse bouche of seafood ravioli ... delicious! We started the meal with the Casa Martin Trilogy appetizer, a combination of tuna tartare, shrimp aguachile, and octopus tostada... all were fantastic, but I'd have to give a hat tip to the octopus, it was "over the top" delicious! We then enjoyed the beet salad, super fresh beets, cheese, apple and a tasty chipotle vinegarette dressing. Great salad! Our entrees included the lobster risotto, with truffle and mushrooms... sublime! We also tried the catch of the day, red snapper, blackened, with fresh local veggies and a lemon mojo sauce... loved it! The finale was a complimentary birthday dessert, chocolate molten lava cake (temperature hot!) with vanilla ice cream... a wonderful ending to an awesome meal. We have been going to Cabo regularly for 30 years and are always looking for new adventures. The best adventures seem to be off the beaten path and this is one of them. The neighborhood is not opulent but the moment you walk through the "Gates of Martin" you are transported into a beautiful garden and feels very cozy. We had a great Mexican Nebbiolo from San Luis Potosi, shared a Ceaser Salad, shared a very tasty Ahi/Avocado appetizer and then had a braised lamb shank and a grilled pork chop. All excellent and tasty!! They treated us with a flan dessert for our anniversary and everyone was really nice and attentive. read more

Walking into this restaurant is like walking into a slice of paradise. First you must cross the charming little threshold and wooden door to enter. If you're lucky , you'll be greeted by a friendly wag and cold wet nose. 5 stars for the dog. Inside is a landscape of greenery with open air seating and pleasing lighting. The seats are comfortable and the tables are spaced so private conversations can be had. Two weeks ago it was actually chilly in San Lucas, so the space heaters were on and the owner (?) noticed me shivering and brought me a blanket. 5 stars for exceptional observation and service. Husband and I shared the Octopus Tostado. The plate is absolutely a work of art. It has a layer of guajilo, avocado and arugula topped with nice chunks of grilled octopus. Edible flowers, microgreens and a Serrano aioli encircled the tostado. Stunning and delicious. I had the Braised short rib bolognese and husband enjoyed the lobster risotto. Both were outstanding. To our surprise, we were treated to a anniversary dessert. This was molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream plated with berries and the words happy anniversary spelled out in chocolate. The cake had a rich chocolatey exterior and a warm, gooey dark chocolate center. Fabulous. It is obvious from the service and food, that this restaurant is passionate about what they do. read more

I really enjoyed the ambiance here. When you first walk in (watch your step ) to the right they have set up what would be an abuelitas front porch. My grandma had a similar set up in her backyard with birds, and it brought me back a little of my childhood which I really enjoyed. Across from it they have an ofrenda which I thought was also pretty nice, and upstairs in another bar. It's a little dim at night so you'll need to be careful as it's not leveled and there are quite a few steps here and there. The food was really good! We definitely enjoyed our dinner and the dessert. I wished they had better cocktails, but it seems like most of the people who visit here drink wine as it's an older crowd. I'll definitely be back, we had a wonderful dinner! read more

2nd visit. Excellent BOTH times. Beautiful setting; romantic, peaceful dinner on crazy Halloween in Cabo. Had the sea bass, every bite was scrumptious. Manuel, the manager, Cesar, our waiter and Lillian the hostess were so welcoming and gracious. Dont let the dirt road location deter you. BEST MEAL in Cabo! read more

If I had to sum this place up to one word: wow. The chef pays attention to details and the food is the freshest we had on the trip. We started with a Trilogy to Share appetizer and honestly this was the best refried beans I've had ever in Mexico in my many years of visiting. They were not as heavy as regular refried beans and the black beans switched from the usual pinto was the highlight of the dish. The chef also provided a complimentary ravioli dish in a decadent white cream sauce with freshly baked dinner buns. To partner with our meal we ordered the Lili signature cocktail made from fresh grapefruit with a mezcal spritz. As a main I chose the Seafood Chile Relleno which was a large roasted pepper filled with scallops, lobster, shrimp and wild rice in a tomato sauce. It was a comforting dish full of flavour as they stuffed it to bring with meaty seafood chunks. We ordered two desserts - because how can you just pick one! The Chimichanga de Platano was a sweetly fried banana covered in a crispy outer shell perfectly paired with a cinnamon ice cream. The Creme Caramel Custard was a light airy flan topped with whipping cream and surrounded by fresh fruit. To end the chef provided complimentary small butter almond biscuits. The staff are very attentive as there were multiple waiters throughout the night to ensure everyone and everything was attended to. They also asked multiple times if there were allergies and the level of care to safety was impressive. The space feels as though you're in Martin's luxury secret garden with lush greenery and caged birds. The soft lighting made it feel cozy and the tucked away tables felt intimate. For outdoor seating on a chill night they had tall heat lamps to keep everyone comfortable. There also was a musician softly performing throwbacks which added to the quaint and relaxing atmosphere. This place was quite the treat and the star of our trip.
