Here are my inspiration photos and then what she did to my hair. It was $275 before tip (and I still tipped 20%, because I'm a decent person). I think it's safe to say I didn't get what I came for at all. She was super excited to do my hair, so I assumed she would do it well. When I called, I was told she wasn't available Saturday but had an opening Friday at 10:30, which I booked and received a confirmation text for with Christina. When we arrived, no one introduced the stylist or mentioned any change. My daughter was taken back, and we went through the entire appointment under the impression she was with Christina. The haircut itself was not what was requested. My daughter brought reference photos, but the bangs were cut far too short and uneven, and the layering was incorrect. It was only after we left that I realized the stylist was not Christina at all. The business card we were handed when leaving said "Bailey," who isn't even listed on their website. The lack of transparency is unacceptable. If a client books with a specific stylist, they should be clearly informed of any changes beforehand. We would not have booked this appointment otherwise. To make matters worse, I reached out to the salon via email weeks ago to resolve this and never received any response. No acknowledgment, no follow-up, nothing. This appointment was for my daughter's birthday, which makes the experience even more disappointing. Based on both the service and the complete lack of accountability afterward, I would never recommend this salon.

I'm late doing this review cause last summer 2025 after the 3rd appt with Jason, I had to deal with…read moreprostate cancer reoccurrence which I just recently finished, and thought I'd post my review. I chose Jason to help me with getting a new unit cause I thought he was good at doing this. I met Jason the previous summer 2024 for a haircut while I was in town visiting friends. Later after a bad experience with a hairstylist in SC and GA, I reached out to Jason early 2025 about my situation, and he said these bad experiences happen in the industry where the hair stylist takes advantage of their customers, but ASSURED me I wouldn't have that problem with him. That he'd been cutting hair for 30 plus years. So I saw Jason about a new unit on 04-16-25. It was a 1000 mile RT drive from me. From what I gathered in my conversations with Jason, he's mostly a hairdresser, wigmaster with theatrical work, but occasionally helps customers to order units at a discount, and cuts them in for the customer, supposingly for a savings. During the initial consult with Jason on 04-16-25 (costing me $70) he helped me order the unit from the manufacturer which cost me $360 for the unit. When I received the unit, I went back to Jason 07-17-25 for the cut in. He said normally a cut in takes 2-3 hrs, but he spent over 11 hrs doing my cut in over 2 days. When it was all said and done, JASON CUT THE UNIT TOO SHORT IN THE BACK, thus it couldn't be used. Needless to say I was very disappointed that he screwed up my unit....and also being that I drove 1,000 miles RT for the appt. At the end of the 07-17-25 appt, Jason ordered another unit because of his mistake and he paid for the new unit. I told him I'd be back in Knoxville 09-17-25 and needed the new unit by then. I soon found out from the manufacturer that the order would need a rush payment of $49 (which I had to pay) so it would be there in time...didn't think that should be my expense. I drove to Knoxville for the appt on 09-17-25, and Jason spend around 12 plus hrs cutting in the 2nd new unit over a 2 day period. When he finally finished with my cut in 09-19-25, it was around 6:45pm we were the last people in the building. His shop had poor lighting and I really couldn't tell how it looked. So I paid him the $100 for the cut in and told him I'd look at it when I got home where I had plenty of light. That's when I realized the color of the unit DIDN'T MATCH MY HAIR, and there was a grey line where the unit met my hair. I couldn't believe Jason screwed up my unit ONCE again. I sent him several texts about my unit not being right and he never responded. I contested the $100 charge with Chase Visa and after a month they reversed the charge. But I was still out of pocket $479, $70 for initial consult, $360 my cost for the initial unit and the $49 rush fee. All I can say is BE VERY CAUTIOUS about having Jason cut in a new unit for you. I noticed that the service I received, a cut in on a mens hairpiece isn't listed on their services they do. Perhaps the reason I had the issue with my hair piece cut in. It may work out just fine for you, who knows. Apparently he doesn't do many of these cut ins, hence the 10 plus hours to do a normal 2 1/2 hr cut in.

I hate to leave a negative review because John is a good hair stylist. His customer service, on…read morethe other hand, is horrendous. I purchased a groupon for a hair cut at Salon Do or Dye in January. I had no problem getting an appointment (John schedules all his appointments with an online scheduling site) and was very happy with my hair cut. So happy that I purchased another groupon to go back when I needed my hair cut again. I made an appointment for my next hair cut and was looking forward to it. On the day I was to go in, John sent me a text canceling due to a family emergency and asked when I would have availability another time that week. I totally understand about unexpected things happening and asked to reschedule for later that week. John did not get back to me at all that week or the next so I went ahead and made an appointment through the website (for a few more weeks out because his availability is quite limited). When John did finally text me offering an appointment for a time I was unavailable, he acknowledged that I had already rescheduled and we agreed that I would come in on that date). That day was yesterday. I arrived for my scheduled appointment to the studios where John has his salon. The owner greeted me and when I told her I had an appointment she was surprised as John was not in and she did not expect him to come in. She texted and called him but he did not reply. I waited for 20 minutes. The owner explained that John had taken a full time job and was only doing hair a few days a week. When I grew tired of waiting, I told the owner to let John know that he had lost a client. John has not contacted me to apologize or explain. I am now trying to get a refund from groupon. As talented as John is, I refuse to give someone my business who is so disrespectful and doesn't value his clients. It is unfortunate, as I have been looking for a long term stylist and really thought John was it. I guess I will have to keep looking for someone who will actually appreciate my business.

I booked 2 appointments for 1 of my adult daughters that went well. My last apt. was really weird. All of the sudden, my stylist did not want to do what I was requesting by cutting my hair to the side, and not to the center. When I asked for the style to be skimmed, now that it was shaped as I wanted and was going to continue growing it out, she took off 3-5 inches. I was stunned! Aside from those apts., I had another appointment for my oldest adult daughter & she was underwhelmed to say the least. She told me her concerns & I immediately emailed the salon. The most concerning items included a hairy/dirty station, cutting her hair dry & THEN washing it w/o touch up, dropping a comb on the floor & continuing to use it on client. I said "why didn't you say anything!?", & she said she didn't want to rock the boat since I liked the place so much. I was so embarrassed! I was even more shocked that I never received any kind of response AT ALL from the salon. In my opinion customer service is everything. To not even answer my email was just death to my patronage. smh.
