I recently lost a lot of weight, which is awesome, but due to lack of funds I was still wearing dress slacks that were two sizes too big for me. Ive never had alterations done before but thought I would price compare that versus buying 4 new pairs. I used Yelp to find this place tucked in the corner of a small strip center. It was jam packed inside with fabric and clothes in neat piles everywhere. Lots of pictures adorned the walls, mostly of children dressed as royalty with elaborate embellished capes. I think it was more a Mardi Gras type thing as opposed to a Toddlers and Tiaras type thing. A sweet girl behind the counter explained the process to me and estimated around $16 for each pant altered. Sold! I originally paid $69 for each pant so this was a deal. I came back a few days later with 4 slacks and got fitted by another nice older lady who was obviously the shop owner. After the pinning was done I was informed that it would be $21 a pant since it was a more difficult seam. UGH. They were just normal Express Editor unlined dress pants but I'm not a seamstress so fine, whatever, it was still more affordable than new pants. I was told that I could pick them up the next day after 4:00 but they closed at 5:00 and I was working till 5:00. Luckily I was able to quickly pick them up during my working hours. I tried them on in the dressing room and.....they fit like crap. I think a good seamstress would know to inform a customer that you can't take slacks in two sizes without having a significant shift in the back pockets!!! I mean seriously the butt pockets were almost touching each other. And on one pair the butt seam was almost sewn in a straight line with no curve. I'm not one of those people that causes a stink if my service is not right. I've never returned food at a restaurant or demanded a discount for a bad haircut, but I'll be damned if I ever go back. So now I'm not very trusting of alterations places. Why pay to have someone ruin your clothes when you could just buy new ones and sell your good old ones on eBay? This is where I went for all of my wedding-related alterations. The dress I got married in (an embellished knee-length sundress from Anthropologie) needed the keyhole/wrap combo bodice sewn shut some because I'm pretty well endowed in that area. That was done very quickly for a very reasonable price. The choli suit (Indian outfit with a skirt and top) that I wore to my reception needed more complicated alterations, because even though I entered my measurements when ordering online, when it arrived it was WAY too big. I was swimming in the top and the skirt hung way too low and threatened to fall off/trip me. The owner (maybe named Joanne? for the third time, I'm terrible with names) came up with creative solutions for these problems that worked really well. I did have to go in a couple of times for fittings, but that was fine with me as this business is very close to where I lived/worked at the time. I expected to pay much more than what I ended up being charged for all of these adjustments. My outfit looked really great at my wedding reception! read more

This place is not worth what you'll pay them. I had a swimsuit taken in and now I can barely get it on, it's already torn in two places, which is going to look SO awesome on stage... :( UGH Then I had a dress taken in, which looked fine, but my issue was on the return visit to have the hem taken up. The lady was rushing me out the door, not letting me figure out the length. She scoffed at me when I asked for another half inch shorter as if moving ONE pin was too much work for her. Not to mention, she literally said I needed to hurry up so she could take her grand daughter somewhere...it was 420, they are "open" until 5. Then she had the nerve to remind me that if the length isn't right I'll have to pay again. OH and she suggested I wasn't "putting in as much work as her to get this dress right" because I was showing up "so close to closing time" ummm that's why I pay YOU to do it while I'm busy working at a hospital all day. I will not be returning. I'll be taking the swimsuit they ruined elsewhere. read more

At first the lady stated that she had to "pick her daughter up" which i understood but then she stated that she "wasted her time because we weren't buying anything anyway" 1st of all they tried to charge me $200 to alter my prom dress which was outrages. I could just buy a whole new dress if that was the case.. read more

love her. done awesome for us for years. from taking up Daddy's suits, nice suits, and altering to fit my boys, to formals, etc. wedding dresses. hems on pants and skirts, etc. excellent work. maybe not cheap, but i dont want a cheap job. pay for what u get. or just go buy something else. or get what u love fixed to fit. I used them to embroider a shirt for my daughter, just put her name on it. When I went in I was called a bitch in front of my 7 year old and yelled at because it was not there when promised to me. Yes, they did get it to me after 4, my b ad for going at 330, and it looks horrible! A child could have done a better job. WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS PK ACE. They will ruin your clothes!! read more

I had the absolute WORST experience here. It was a bad day to begin with and when I walked in the place and people seemed nice enough, they were dealing with another customer. I waited for them to finish up for 15-20 min before I could get into the fitting room. Then they decided that my dress was wrinkled at the bottom so they needed to press it before they could hem. No problem. I never got an estimate of how much the dress alterations were going to be until she was pinning it. She told me that it would be at least 50 dollars if not more. So I decided then and there that I did not want to pay that much for my dress to be hemmed. She told me it would be a 4 dollar fee for a fitting without actually having the alterations done. Which I said alright I will pay you that. While I was changing back into my clothes she told me through the fitting room door that she was also going to charge me 7 dollars for the pressing. So I said "Ma'am you are charging me 11 dollars for nothing..." to which she replied "My daughter spent 15 minutes pressing your dress and I've been spending ALL this time on you." Her daughter maybe spent 5 minutes pressing my dress which wasn't even complete...and she maybe spent 10 looking and pinning before I backed out. THEN she said "You expect us to do things for free here? Shame on you!" I paid 10 dollars for 15 minutes of their time when I spent at least 30 waiting in a chair....Wow. Way to do business.
