I didn't know where to turn, so I rushed along to Marjorys Wool Shop to get a green thread repair kit. The shop assistant, I'm not sure if this was Marjory or not, was very helpful and showed me an array of green shades. I picked the perfect shade to match Pillie, made my purchase which was much cheaper than I'd expected and rushed back to begin the operation. Thankfully, the shop assistant had reminded me to buy needles too so I was ready to get stitching. The operation was a success, it took the patient a while to recover, but he's now in tip top shape, good as new! A great shop, and very popular too as there were a few other customers when I was there in my hour of need. Prices very reasonable and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I have attached a picture of the patient in the operating theatre.

It has obviously been here for a while and not much has changed in this period. The rows of dated patterns posters remain proudly stuck up in the window along side some really sweet floral wreath (type things). Inside, you'll find a good selection of wool in an array of colours, thicknesses, qualities and price ranges. Meanwhile, the staff always seem friendly and helpful. Ideal for any knitting relating questions. My only reservation is that in the past few weeks I've not seen it open while passing on the bus. While, I'm more than happy to admit that this in itself is not unusual due to my 'out of office hours' schedule; I'm also slightly concerned that it may have closed down. Fear not, trusty yelpers. I shall investigate my suspicion further and update the review accordingly. Till then, if you happen to notice it's door wide, open and smiling then dive in for a look. It's well worth it and you'll appear ultra chic.

It's not a huge place but it's amazing the selection of yarn they manage to pack in. It's not full of the expensive Alpaca and cashmere blends you might find in John Lewis but it does house a staggering range of colours and textures and all at a decent price. I first discovered the place when looking for yarn to use at a Yelp arm knitting get-together organised by Lucy B. I hadn't been able to find anything I liked elsewhere but there was a great choice at Supasew. I ended up choosing a felty blue and white yarn with a leopard print. I knitted up wonderfully and was so soft and snuggly! I was also tempted into buying a gorgeous random yarn that ended up becoming a lovely hat for my friend. My most recent trip was to buy some yarn for Christmas knitting projects, I knew exactly what I wanted and was pleased that they not only had what I needed but that there were different options to choose from. A fluffy white yarn and a sparkly red are now mine and will soon be transformed into lovely Christmas themed bits and bobs. I was running in and out tonight but I spotted about 10 other yarns I want to go back and have a look at. As well as yarns the shop also stocks a good variety of knitting needles, buttons, ribbons and other haberdashery bit and bobs to help you finish your project. So if you're looking to do some knitting and crochet and don't want to break the bank then head down to Supasew soon!

No sooner where we headed to the home of yarn and cake, for tea and accompanying sweet things. I can't remember the last time I received as warm a welcome as Antje gave us. She welcomed us like old friends, past the multitude of yarn, and into her wonderful emporium of loose tea and fresh cakes at the back. The Yarn Cake smelled delicious; fresh and sweet. It's size certainly makes for a real cosey feel. - Warm and snug! We had come for tea and cake and we'd certainly come to the right place! You want tea but you don't know which one? Have a smell of this, a smell of that. So much loose tea, how could I possibly choose?! I went for an Oolong. - Partly because it's nice to say (Oooooolong) but also because I'd never tried it before. My pot of Oolong was delicious and Antje even kindly offered to re-fill my teapot if I so wished! Now, the main event. - The cake! Quite simply, delicious. I loved my slice of pear and marzipan cake. Simple and sweet and light. Perfection. It really was a bargain and we left smiling from our sweetness fix. Just how tea and cake should be. If I ever take up knitting, I know where I want to be practicing.
