Beginning with the owner, John Knox who, when we spoke on the telephone for the first time found it necessary to bad mouth President Obama. This seemed like a rather stupid thing to do, in my opinion, since he had no way of knowing whether or not I had voted for Obama (I had). I glossed over it since I knew he would not be the one doing the inspection. The inspector came out on a Wednesday morning. I had thought I would be receiving his report promptly but it wasn't until the following week that I finally got it, with my name wrong. I realize that my spelling of Patt makes it unusual, but for anyone to arbitrarily decide that I am a woman based solely on the spelling of my name truly infuriates me. The report came addressed to "Ms." I sent the report back and demanded that it be corrected, which it was. That would have been the end of it had it not been for the email I then received from Rebecca Knox. She offered a very thin apology but mostly wanted to defend her actions. In fact, she proceeded to argue with me why she believed she was correct in her actions. She stated that she has a girlfriend who spells her name the same as I do, and therefore I must be a woman. For the record, she was not correct. I am a man and I just went into the bathroom and verified that for myself. I was given a list of companies when I needed this work performed. I truly wish I had chosen someone else.

I utilized Knox last November to inspect my wife & I's first home. The inspection was supposed to…read morebe thorough and I felt like I could trust Knox to do a great job since their ASHI certified, but I was wrong. To be straight forward, Knox missed 1. A LARGE foundation crack 2. A guest bathroom shower leak (which leaked down the wall and out an electrical socket) 3. Reverse hot & cold water temp in the master shower along with loose pipes 4. Air duck ploom improperly installed that causes poor air flow throughout the house 5. Clogged dryer vent 6. Heavily dusty air vents (they claim they don't unscrew vents, but there is no need to, because you can just shine a flashlight in the vent) 7. Faulty garage door opener 8. Failed to disclose that our furnace was FULL of dust and in disrepair (we need a new furnace or we can have it cleaned and repaired for $1,500). When my wife and I called to try and speak to John the owner, Toni kept telling us "he's on the other line." Finely after speaking to John, he told us that he would be coming out to do a walkthrough of the house to see what all was missed. The day of the walkthrough, we find out that John just sent out the same two inspectors that looked at our property and they made lots of excuses of why it was not reported or missed. I showed them copies of the pluming repair bills and the (approx $500) and a $50 furnace inspection, which disclosed a $1,500 to $7,200 cost. When we tried to follow-up with John, we kept getting told John was on the "other line". As of right now, we disputed the $500 charge with our credit card company and ended up getting a letter only taking fault for the reverse hot & cold shower temp in the master bathroom. We received a check for $85, which is a drop in the bucket when we're looking at a total repair cost of around $8,000! The truth of it is my wife and I would have walked away from this home if we would have known the truth and had a thorough inspection as promised. John Knox should have stepped up and done the right thing and offered a full refund. But instead, he decided to make a upset customer even more upset. Now we're trying to spread the word and help other home buyers avoid a nightmare.

We paid Parker for a full inspection on a home in Tulsa…read more The sellers moved out and there were 4 weeks the house sat empty with no one using water, electric, gas, etc. The day we moved in their was NO HOT WATER. We had someone come to look at it, thinking it was just turned off somehow, and he noted in 10 seconds that the the tank was busted and would have to be replaced. From the rust buildup on the tank he agreed that it had to have been broken for quite a while. We reached out to Parker expecting them to agree that someone had failed their job and replace the tank. As expected, they used the month period to insist that "it was working when they inspected it but it busted later". Sure. CYA much? Know that, if you use these guys, they aren't really checking everything and, if you walk into a mess, it's on you to fix it.

Didn't have to, he wasn't late. They said he'd be there 8-10a. Said "GPS says I'll be there for 8:17a". Good start in my book. Tom toured the 2 floor home. It has brand new oil furnace, forced air in an "octopus" vent system, so we expected to be paying their high range of $500ish. That's half what others have quoted us though. We opted for sanitizer as well (with Moms allergies we decided to since it was being done). That was $200-250. Has a nice lemony scent for a little while, minor. Lasts less than an hour. Tom finished his work 1-2p and while he did turn on furnace to see if debris came out anywhere, nothing of note did at that time. It happened later on that soot and debris came out of all the vents. We contacted Tommy and here's why he gets the five stars he deserves. He immediately apologized profusely. He said while he's not sure why it was doing that now and didn't before, he will come right back out as soon as possible. He couldn't return until Saturday, he was on jobs when we told him (the day after, so one day was in between). And return he did. He texted his arrival time and apologized again when he showed up. He's genuine in demeanor, I don't get that vibe that he knew something was off. He was sincerely sorry and felt bad the job wasn't satisfied, worse felt bad my Mom's allergies were triggered. He spent several more hours this morning cleaning up anything he saw, and of course troubleshot where he thought the catches of debris may have happened. Very "extra" thorough, as best he could. Tommy stood by his work. His very words were he warranties his work, an actual warranty or moral one I don't think that mattered to him. He and I agree, the home's octopus vents and setup possibly made this job more difficult than a usual one. To me, it's how you handle those ones that go haywire that highlight what kind of a person and company you are. These guys passed with flying colors.
