My appointment was scheduled for 9:00 AM, and I arrived 15 minutes early as requested, yet I still waited an hour to be seen. The consultation itself took about 10 minutes, followed by another 20‑minute wait just to receive an estimate for recommended services. Not everyone has the luxury of waiting for that long. Some of us have jobs and other matters to tend to. This isn't the first time I've experienced such long delays, and it makes me feel like appointments aren't being managed efficiently. I hope this improves, because otherwise I may need to consider switching to another dental office.

The dental hygienist who regularly does my teeth cleaning is also very kind, skilled, and very friendly. She is always friendly and chats with me while she cleans my teeth to put me at ease. He doesn't believe in upselling and instead listens to you, offers what he recommends, what can be done, and how to meet in the middle if money becomes an issue. He never pressures unnecessary treatment either, they just form out what is recommended and you can decide what you'd like to have done from there. He does amazing work , extremely gentle and overall such a kind person. His work ethic sets a standard for the whole office, as all of the assistants & hygienists are so nice and understanding. They're happy to answer any questions and always try their hardest. One of the first things I look for in healthcare environments is cleanliness & this place checks all of the boxes. It gives a more "homey" vibe versus your typical medical office. They're also great with kids! The tv on the ceiling helps calm anxiety (even for adults) and they do a little show & tell with all the instruments which give a great introduction and builds a good foundation without the fear of dentists. There is almost never a long wait time and they try to set a perfect amount of time needed for your procedure. My mom has had 3 implants done, two crowns and a root canal and very happy with all the work done, including all of her emergency visits that they fit her into the schedule.

But in this case, I feel it's important to share. I came to this office years ago after moving to Cerritos, right before my wedding, simply looking for a new dentist and a routine cleaning. They had great reviews, which is why I trusted them. From the start, I was told I had extensive issues--multiple cavities needed to be redone and several crowns were recommended. This was surprising to me, as I've consistently gone to the dentist and had never been told I needed such drastic work. Still, I trusted their assessment. The procedures that followed were some of the most painful dental experiences I've ever had. They took hours, felt extremely aggressive, and left me in severe pain afterward--far beyond what I've ever experienced with dental work. I have a high pain tolerance, and this felt very wrong. What was most frustrating was what happened next. I returned multiple times explaining that I couldn't sleep, eat, or function due to the pain. Each time, my concerns were dismissed and attributed to things like not flossing (umm I couldn't floss because of the extreme pain), which didn't make sense given the level of pain I was in. After pushing back repeatedly--especially with my wedding just days away--I insisted something was seriously wrong and requested further evaluation. It turned out I needed three root canals as a result of their prior work. Separately, the crowns that were placed caused ongoing issues. Eating anything with texture would cause gum pain, and I noticed unusual gaps that trapped food. When I brought this up, I was told the only solution was to redo the crowns at additional cost. My crowns also came off. Later, I happened to see a different dentist at the same office (a female provider who may have been temporary), and she immediately noted that the crowns had been placed at an awkward angle. She corrected them, and since then, I've had no pain and no further issues such as crowns falling off. I ultimately switched dentists and have not needed any major dental work since--just routine cleanings every six months, with no recurring problems. Based on what I went through--particularly the aggressive treatment, the outcome, and the dismissal of my concerns--I feel it's important for others to have full context before making a decision.

For my first visit, I had a dental cleaning, and I knew immediately that this was a great place. It was such a thorough cleaning and the technology Dr. Terra uses is first rate. I was terrified of the dentist, and I had A LOT of work to do. Many crowns, fillings, fixing some really crazy teeth, and oral surgery. All this before I can do the "fun stuff" (Invisalign and whitening). Whereas other dentists have made my road so long I have eventually given up, Dr. Terra gently and efficiently led me through a healing process. Within months, I now have new teeth! Yes!! And I was scared, but Dr. Terra referred me to an amazing surgeon; I was able to conquer my fear because I knew that if Dr. Terra trusted them, I could too. Thanks to all this work, I will soon start the fun stuff! And yes, my new teeth (Crowns) are GORGEOUS. Dr. Terra is an artist. He makes the crowns himself and they are incredible (and done so so quickly - no more waiting around with a temp crown for months!).
