ABOSLUTELY HORRIBLE BUSINESS -- RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I called because…read moreI was doing my due diligence concerning buying a house in the OBX. The sellers put in a 3 bedroom septic system (1000 gallon tank) whereas the house is really a noncomforming 5 bedroom house. Why they just put in a 3 bedroom tank (a few months agao) makes no sense but yes, I understand I am going to need to talk to the town and get a new permit. I'm not dumb (but neither was this old coot I talked to on the phone either). This isn't about getting a permit; it's about the COST of what a new septic system would be, which is all I wanted to know. Again, the sellers just put in a brand new tank and drain field. So WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO -- REPLACE THE TANK? ENLARGE THE DRAIN FIELD? AND, APPROXIMATELY HOW MUCH WOULD THIS COST? Very obviously BEFORE I buy this house I need to have this infomration to not screw myself with my offer. But no, this olg guy I spoke to (who said he's been doing this 80 years so I have to assume he's the owner of this company) kept refusing to do that. I guess he wants to see what kind of car I drive up in before he decides how much he could fleece out of me. Otherwise, act like a professional and just give me a ballpark figure. He then said, well, what if I'm $5000 off? If this man, who has been doing this for 80 years, is $5000 off in his estimates he should retire. I've been in construction myself and just by looking at your roof I can tell you how many squares you are going to need, and I can then add in some tar paper, drip edge, etc. Now, if I'm an idiot or if I'm so old that I've lost my mind I guess I would have problems giving you a ballpark estimate. So folks, I don;t know what this old man's problem really was but as I said, all I wanted were a few simple figures to decided if my offer to buy this house needed adjusted. If you want help doing something like this, do NOT call this company! I am also reporting this company to the Attorney General and blasting this company on Facebook -- horrible, horrible company and a horrible, horrible man!

Beware...please don't use these guys!! There are much more competent and professional companies…read moreout there. Lee performed a septic inspection for me this past August. They noted during the inspection that there were no roots in the tank. Well...not too long (a month later) after their inspection the septic was backing up. We assumed it was the plumbing in the house because they said the septic was good. The photos show the huge root ball that formed a curtain around the incoming pipe and was removed by another septic company that said it had been growing there for years. When I brought this to their attention, they emailed me with the following: "Yes it was reported that we did not see any roots while there. From our conversation I am assuming that you are looking for reimbursement of the cost to pay [the other company] for their services. At this time we feel that our services were completed just as all of our other inspections are done." It really is a shame that they chose to handle it this way instead of owning up to the fact that they did a poor inspection (or perhaps didn't even bother opening up the lid; not sure how you miss 100 pounds worth or roots grown into the tank). They had a chance to make it right, and did not. If, as they noted, this is how all of their other inspections are done, then I don't know how they are in business.
