They have fans going for temperature control, although I imagine if you are on the side of the studio where you are in the sun, it probably gets warm fast. They has two instructors at the open house class, which I tried, Kristin and Connie. This was kind of nice because it meant there was always one instructor free to correct people's form. Everyone working here was friendly. I found the method here was more like pilates than other barre classes. The class used lots of equipment and it was all provided (mats, ball, bands, weights, cushions). A nice touch is that towels were provided for working out. There are showers but only one washroom. The locker area is pretty small and there ends up being a bit of a line to change/access them. Since I attended an open house, they had a clothing pop up, mini facials and fresh juice. Epsom salts were given after the class to newbies and a one month deal. Newbies also were strategically placed between people with previous experience at the studio so there was a lot of thought put into making the experience good. Staff and instructors made sure to introduce themselves to newbies and to watch them during classes to provide extra assistance. They also checked in after the class ended. The negatives are that there is a dress code for this studio that includes no shorts and no midriff showing. I appreciate that this policy applies to all genders, but it is also a bit much, especially the shorts part and not great if you overheat easily. It is also a bit comtrary to body positivity. Another thing to note is that there is no instructor doing the moves with you so it is hard to follow if you are a visual person. The instructions are all verbal and that can be tricky.

It's a nice studio with nice ambiance, but I found it a little difficult to see what the instructor was doing since I wasn't up front. I think I still prefer yoga studios with mirrors. In addition, I prefer "hot" yoga. The instructor I had that taught yin yoga with sound bath is really nice and attentive, but she said it was her last class that day and will be teaching at other y yoga locations further from me. So this review is based on the studio itself.

They offer free de-caf free at the front and plenty of room to sit and wait for your class. There's such a wide range of selection for types of dances that there is one for everyone. My friend J went quarter before 3 and I showed up little late when the dance session started. I wish there was a clear instruction before walking in. I was confused whether to take shoes off to change to indoor shoes or go into studios without my shoes and turns out I had to change to indoor shoes after arrival. Next step was filling out application form and if there was any medical history. I was ready for the session once it was finished. There was so much energy and the 90's hip hop was so perfect for this. Everyone wasn't first timers except for me and J. My instructor showed steps from slow speed and then the pace became quicker. It was little difficult to follow the steps and which direction to swing or to bend my legs. I nearly fell for the first 30 minutes , and then fell on the floor because of my poor balance. My only way to catch up is to observe my instructor or other people to improve dance steps. It was a fantastic work out for sure. Because there was only 1 fan, I felt very sweaty and humid in the dance studio. I only paid $10 for the first lesson and it was so worth it. Staff were nice and friendly. **Note: bring your old runners for the dance. Make sure they're clean pair. They have small change rooms so you can change into loose clothes. Water bottle is a must to bring. They even have a water station next to reception desk. I found myself overwhelmed that some moves were more of advanced level. Everyone else moved so fast I couldn't follow their speed. I found myself with a small bruise the next day.

The room for boxing classes is very dimly lit and there's loud music playing on top, similar to Rumble. They do offer earplugs outside but it can be an overstimulating experience if you're sensitive to that. At the time I had booked my classes, they offered 2 free trial classes but it seems like they no longer do that. However, you can still have a consultation session for free. My complaint is that for the boxing classes, you do have to rent the gloves unless you have your own (I have my own hand wraps so I'm not sure if you'd have to buy that as well). For such a high-end place, I would've expected that to be included in the booking.

This morning, I showed up to a 7:15 a.m. class to learn I'd accidentally registered for class the day before. Busy, working, single mom, mistakes happen. I was told, no problem, there is a spot in the class available - that will just be $37! When there is an empty space and I missed my class and I pay for a membership and already booked and paid for an extra class this week on top of my membership. I've taken over 500 classes with this studio and they'd rather let the class have an empty spot then let a loyal customer make up a class she's showed up to take. It just feels like a kick in the face every time I interact with reception. It's a great workout and two blocks from my house. Many of the moves are repeated in various classes, which also makes it easier to catch on I believe this business should offer to beginners, some slower paced, lighter spring classes to build up confidence and strength. It also be safer and less frustrating for newbies. Alternatively, in regular classes, additional modifications, as well as lighter spring loads, should be offered to those who appear to be struggling. The best thing about these classes is that the are only 40 minutes long! They pack a lot of training into this time. Frankly, any longer, and I don't think I would make it. Make sure you cool down and stretch on your own after class as this is not included. Muscle through the first few classes and I guarantee you will enjoy it. They often offer beginner packages too so ask!!
