We were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in, and the employee there was so friendly and helped us look at some great gift options. I don't know anything about fly fishing, so it was great to have some guidance. They have apparel, books and gifts, tons of flies, fly fishing accessories, and more. We ended up getting a hat and some stickers. They seem to like the Grateful Dead as the sticker and hat we got had the lightning skull on them - which is perfect, because our friend is a huge fan. We also got a birthday card, which we were told are designed by the owner's wife. Overall it was a really great experience and I'm so glad we stopped in.

What a disappointment…read more My husband and his brother hired TNA for a belated Father's Day fishing trip with their father, who'd been talking about going on one with his sons for years. This fishing trip was to be the highlight of a joint family vacation, but, by 5pm the night before the big day, it had dissolved into thin air. Why? Because TNA had thought there were only 2 anglers going on the trip, not the 3, which requires 2 boats/guides, not 1. But there'd been 3 anglers going on the trip from the very beginning, so we're not entirely certain how that information didn't get communicated when my husband called to inquire about/book the trip. To be completely fair, I fully believe TNA was going to do everything they could to locate that second boat/guide even mere hours before the trip and during the busy season, but the set up just wasn't what the guys wanted. Maybe being the lone fisherman on the second boat would be nice if one was going with friends, but not the first ever father/sons fishing trip. Is that when they find out who's the favorite son? It just wasn't going to work. And no one is/was advocating to risk everyone's safety by cramming another brother onto the boat, but, had the angler/boat ratio been communicated to my husband when he called, he could've given his dad a nice Yeti cooler instead. He'll get his deposit back, but is still out the money/time spent obtaining all three fishing licenses, as that's not a service TNA provides. It's just a huge disappointment caused by such a simple mistake, thus the 1 star.

It was a very short stay and we were unfortunately unable to find suitable doggie daycare sitters. Everyone at the business were super helpful, right from the owners to our guide Savannah. They were more than happy to watch our puppy while we embarked on our KaBrew tour. It certainly helps when the owner has extensive experience working for the humane society. Side note: you can actually take your furry friends on the kayak, I just wasn't sure how crazy our puppy was going to be. The tour itself was great, we visited not just the breweries but were offered the option of some distilleries and bars on the way as well. We met some of the other tour groups on the way and were glad we chose this company - our tour was definitely more laid back, relaxed and intimate since the group size was much smaller.  Definitely recommend having a pizza at the Filling station and The Parlor had good cocktails.  I've actually used this company before (at their old location), they seemed to be transitioning to this new spot and in the midst of reorganizing. Overall, would definitely come back when in TC! Thanks a ton!

My wife and I each rented hybrids, and it took me several tries to find a bike that seemed functional. Multiple had loose front wheels that wouldn't tighten, but after a few attempts the attendant was able to get one tightened. Sizing and fitting aren't really part of the process -- this was more of a "just pick whatever bike you want" situation. Soon after we left, I realized that my tires were underinflated, so we had to go back for air. And midway through our ride, huffing and puffing to maintain speed, we realized that most of the brakes were rubbing -- both wheels on my bike, and the front wheel on my wife's. At $40 for a half day per bike, this was a disappointing experience. If you're looking for a rental bike to bum around for a few hours, this might be fine, but if you want to go for a real ride I'd recommend renting elsewhere, or making sure that River Outfitters improves their maintenance practices.

Had 2 SUP full day rentals scheduled for one of our vacation days in the area. At about 10:00 am we got a call asking when we would be there. Our full day was from 9:30am-5:30pm. Since we wouldnt be on the boards all day, we were having a leisurely morning walking our dog and eating breakfast. She informed us that she would charge us 20$ per board for not being there at our pickup time. Nowhere in any communication that she had sent via email or during the order process was this stated. This was the first I heard of it. Upon getting there, I stated I was there for my rental, the woman, the owner stood up to check us in. I asked if she could wave the $40 fee and she laughed at me, saying she is too busy and showing up late messes them up. I was the only person in the store at this point. She also did not further explain what what she meant when she said it "messed them up". She seemed uninterested in explaining the policy and uninterested in my viewpoint. Rental pick up times should be clearly stated on emails if they are so important. And you would think the owner would clearly explain this rather than laugh at us. Again, I literally had no idea. She had already charged the fee prior to us arriving which I thought was weird. The rest of the interaction was very awkward and forced. She went on to make sure we knew if literally any scratches were on the boards we would fit the bill, instilling a level of fear in us that almost ruined the trip alone. To get the boards to lake Michigan they provide hand carts with a wheel to roll. They are very awkward, and she said if they touch the cement at all they would "charge us." Literally everything down at the beach is cement, so were were pretty terrified down at the beach. In addition, you are given a paddle, life jacket and ankle cord. When I asked how to carry the rest of the equipment down she shrugged, and offered no information. At this point I've given this business $130 and she's presented us with the snarkiest demeanor the entire time, and we have no idea why. If she's really that concerned about people not showing up outside the "pickup window " she should clearly put that in the communications with customers. As someone who interacts with customers for a living, I was baffled by the interaction. I gave her an opportunity to make it right, but I have not heard back and she has not removed any fees. When we got back the owner did not interact with us and an employee kindly helped us, missing any opportunity to make it right again. And honestly the fees aren't really the issue, its how we were treated. Had she nicely explained why their policies are in place, rather than laugh and fail to acknowledge our viewpoint, we probably would have been fine. I hate to write a bad review, but I also hate being treated poorly while on vacation.

We had a complication late the night before we were to have it delivered at 8am ad weren't going to be able to be there that early. I called at 11pm and left a message and got a call back really early the next morning from Brett, the owner. He said they got us switched to 10am delivery, and later they got our pickup time pushed back. Grayson and the other man who helped pick up and drop off te boat were great. We were taking my mother-in-law out for the day because she never gets time to herself and she and we had an amazing time. The service made everything extremely easy and non stressful for us. All the equipment functioned well. We had no problems with the boat during the trip. The bed in the main cabin was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. This was our first time sailing on Lake Michigan. There are limited places to anchor, but there are many marinas. All of the marinas have adjacent beaches and grassy areas with play grounds. Marinas are near walking trails, restaurants, grocery stores, and anything else cruisers need.

A lot of companies charge around $600+ then they throw a $125 fuel charge on it as well. This was the average cost for a full day rental when I was looking. Then I came upon H2O Sports Rentals. I called the number listed and the owner, Nick, answered and was nothing less than professional and knowledgeable. For a full day rental, fuel included, was $400!! He explained everything and in order to book the rental, I had to place a deposit. There was 4 adults and 5 kids total. We rented the pontoon for the full day. Nick met us at the dock on time and went over the boat with me. The trip was amazing and the boat ran great! It's perfect for a large family wanting to relax on the water for a day. When we came back to the dock at the end of our rental, Nick again was there on time and helped us load it up. Without a doubt, I will be using this company again. Thanks for the amazing trip Nick!
