We had a fantastic experience from beginning to end with our boat rental! We planned to have a boating day during our visit to Traverse City and we were told that Torch Lake was awesome so we decided to rent here. We called a few times prior to booking wth questions, everyone was helpful and friendly. The place was easy to find and we were checked in, paid up and on the water quickly. Instructions for driving the boat and navigating the waterways were thorough. The boat was brand new, nice and clean! Better than some rentals for sure. The best part was that there was some rain in the forecast so they kept our phone number handy and contacted us when the radar started to show inclement weather. I have kept multiple boats here over the years. John has done a great job of improving the operation and it is now a well oiled machine. We do "in/out" service most recently with my Tritoon and the service is flawless. The employees are friendly and good at their jobs. I use Torch River marine for everything I need boat related. Winterization, storage and repair service in addition to slip service. Even rented a boat or two over the years. I recommend Torch River Marine to anyone that asks. read more

Me and some friends were looking for a good time on torch lake for my boyfriends surprise party! I have rented a few pontoons before and never encounter such a horrible time! I will admit we are a younger group of people from ages of 25 to 35. Originally when I called and spoke with Rene(receptionist) I told her I had more than 10 people. She told me that's not a problem but they were sold out their 12 people boat for the day. she advised me to get the 10 people boat and then drop off people at the sand bar and go pick up the rest from the beach access, she said when we are parked and anchored it's ok to have as many ppl as we want on the boat. I did exactly as told. When we arrived and we waited at marina...the owner Jon comes up to lectures me about how many people I have. During his lecture I tried to keep cool because if your the owner shouldn't you have communicated this with your receptionist? He said "everyone knows me out there and if IF if anyone catches you with more than 10 they'll take a picture and send it me and I'll end your day". I never felt so disrespected in my life. I already told him what his receptionist had told me. He said something about "you people dancing on poles". I was then livid. Way to start a trip at torch lake right? I don't care how young I look, don't treats like a child I am in the health care profession and do not even treat kids like this. I rented your boat and signed waivers and is well aware of my responsibilities. If you're reading this I recommend calling fabianos, butches, h2o on the water or somewhere else first. The label on the boat clearly states max of 12 people per manufacture. read more

Torch River Marine - 10 person boat - Boating Near Me - Rapid City, Michigan

The process of renting a speed boat was easy and the rental agent was nice. Torch Lake is not for rookie boaters such as myself. There are several areas that are shallow and full of rocks. We were extremely careful and broke two propellers on our boat costing us over $200. The lake was choppy also which made for a rough day of boating. I don't feel the staff trained us on the boat enough. It was literally a 2 minute tutorial and when I asked questions, they made me feel a little stupid. We don't live on a lake and we weren't familiar with Torch Lake. A family day out on the lake turned out to be rather expensive and we were certainly careful with the equipment. It was disappointing to say the least. read more

Have been there on a few occasions for my boat repairs. The first time was word of mouth that got me to them. It was not a very good experience over all. It actually was the complete opposite. Absolute terror. The second time was because my boat was in a slip there and the boat was inoperable. With no choice I reluctantly requested they did the work. And to my surprise, they did the work in far less time than anywhere else I called quoted me, far cheaper than anybody else, customer service was top notch this go around, etc.. the next day, had issues with my boat again, called them and they were EXTREMELY helpful again. Definitely glad I gave them another chance. I couldn't be happier with the results I have recieved, customer service is top notch, price is very reasonable. I will not even consider calling around now. They have made a repeat customer out of me. Way to go guys and gals at torch river marine! Turned an unhappy customer into a return customer as well as a truly satisfied and happy one. Definitely worth paying a visit for any of your marine needs. One thing this has taught me is mistakes are made, people have bad days, but what it really boils down to is how it's handled in the future. read more
