They treat the dogs great . With wonderful dog cuts. And the animals are in the same room and it Is a very nice and calm atmosphere.

The owner is nice and friendly but I wasn't very impressed with the cut. My dog came back looking completely different. The hair was too small. He was matted so I expected a small hair and its good for summer as well but the face hair was also too small and very uneven. read more

I have brought my cat here twice, but now it seems my cat is now too aggressive to be groomed - and he has never been aggressive. For 4 hours he's been there and we have just received a call that no grooming will happen. VERY disappointed. read more

What the heck.... no way this is a four-star place. I can only assume reviewers didn't care what their dogs looked like after this place.....The place is unassuming but seemed fine. They quoted me at $55-65 but charged me $70. Dropped off at 9am and had a call back at 12 saying she was ready... unfortunately, our toy poodle looks butchered. The pics show how uneven her fluffy beautiful coat is.... maybe if you have a dog that doesn't need a nice groom this place might be fine. But for anyone who cares what your dog looks like, don't go here. They put a bandana on to distract you from the terrible cut. I'd say this is the worst cut we've ever seen. Petco charges $20 less and takes half as long and usually does better. Maybe my hopes were too high.... read more

I have a 80 lbs black lab who always comes back clean and happy, wearing a season relevant scarf. I love this place, it's my go to :)

This groomer is wonderful! It's tricky to find anyone to groom cats. We have two long hair/double coat cats who require regular grooming and lion cuts in the warm weather. They do an amazing job, especially with our black cat who isn't a fan of even getting brushed! I believe it's a husband & wife who own & operate the shop. They are always very kind, friendly and loving to our cats. Can't say enough about this place. It doesn't look like much compared to some of the fancy salons you see around these days but I wouldn't trade this salon for any of those places! read more

I really like this groomer. My dog doesn't like new people very much and sometimes gets really nervous about getting a haircut but the staff is so friendly and is very patient with him! They always good a great job! Every time he comes out looking fantastic! I like that you have to wait outside it's very covid friendly. I recommend this place! read more

Scrub-A-Dog N'cats - My English Springer Spaniel was very happy with his new haircut! They do good work! - Pet Groomers Near Me - Burlington, Massachusetts

I'm reviewing solely based on the abrupt, very rude phone call we experienced trying to get our cat in to get de matted. We called and we're told they don't do cat grooming on Saturdays, alright so we asked when they do cat grooming and were told Wednesday at 9...and only at 9. My husband asked if there was a later time since we both work regular day shift hours and if we could make an appointment for a Wednesday afternoon instead. Again we were rudely told no and the only way we'd get our cat groomed was to bring him in on a Wednesday at only 9 o'clock in the morning. This was quite possibly the rudest customer service I've ever experienced. I can understand only have certain availability, but to only have one time slot open and be unwilling to work with a potential customer is hands down outrageous. We will never give this place another chance, at 9 am on Wednesday or otherwise. read more

At first glance this place isn't all that much. There's no pomp & circumstance at all. The front desk is just that: a simple desk with no decor and a credit card holder on top. There is a small gate that you can see through in order to see the groomers, pups and process. I was a little weary dropping my baby here, but I didn't need to be. He came home within 1.5 hours (earlier than I was told...original estimate was 2 hours). I called the same day!! And he smelled delicious. He's a simple short haired rescue (a black lab mix) and he came home fluffy, nails clipped & deliciously clean. At 9 months pregnant, this mama is thrilled that someone else took the time to groom my favorite little dude. read more

I thought the gentleman working at the salon was very nice. Our dog came out smelling wonderful. However, there is a language barrier. I specifically said not to use razors/buzzers on my dog, when I picked him up his belly was very obviously cut with the buzzers...a long haired dachshund "no-no". Here's to hoping it grows back looking okay. For a quick bath for your doggies, I'd say give this place a shot...for a trim with scissors go somewhere else. read more

Great service, reasonable prices. No frills, but I don't think my dog really cares. My first dog was a biter, but the owners never had an issue (but they could not brush his teeth), and when he passed away they sent me a sympathy card! Now I take my bichon/shitzu mix doggie here and he always comes home looking and smelling great! High Five! read more

Good pet care is hard to find these days. I found Scrub-A-Dog N'cats on Yelp and called in advance to have both of my German Shepherd Dogs groomed. They were a little stinky, and since I just bought them new crates and new dog beds, I wanted them to lay in their new caves CLEAN and not smelly. The gentleman (I presume the owner) answered and said to bring them on by. Good thing I read the reviews first, because if I didn't, I would've been shocked at the store front. But I was forewarned by other Yelpers that it was a simple desk with a credit card holder at the front while the rest of the store was behind a wood gate where the dogs were groomed. I dropped off my pups and was given a call about 3 hours later. When I came to pick them up, I saw my youngest GSD come out looking fluffy like a pomeranian! I was so overjoyed! He has a fluffy coat for a GSD and when he is overdue for a bath, his hair tends to look bundled up in places. The gentleman here groomed my GSD and brushed his coat till it was shiny and fluffy and even got all the hair knots out from behind his ears! His ears have long hair the hair gets tangled if I don't brush it often. Both of their ears were cleaned and all nails were trimmed, and they smelled fantastic! He handled my GSDs well also! Most people are intimidated by my GSDs and there is nothing more annoying than coming to a pet serving place to have someone back up at the sight of my GSD barking at them. The gentleman here immediately hushed my GSD as soon as he barked at him and corrected him properly. I did pay a little more for their grooming (more than I have paid at other places), but I received such fantastic service that it was well worth the $100 spent on their grooming (keep in mind that is $100 for two large German Shepherd Dogs)! Will be returning and I definitely recommend! Support your local mom & pop shops as well! Note: This review is my opinion based on my experience only and may not reflect on the business as a whole. What experience I had may not be the same for someone else. read more

I have tried a few places and by far the best I have been too. I had a 15 year old poodle and he was so frail and he did a great job with him up to the end. I now have 2 big huskies and they are impossible to groom and they come back looking amazing. I have tried other places for my huskies and they don't do nearly as good a job. He gets all his undercoat out so my house is not crazy with fur. The man is not very talkative but his work is great. read more

I have a 70lbs pit-bull that couldn't be more of a pain in the ass when it comes to getting his nails cut, and yet every time he comes home from Scrub-a-Dog they are done perfectly. He is also incredibly allergic to...well...everything (from the smell of lit candles down to even prescription dog foods) and the soaps this place use for his bath have never once caused any skin irritation. I couldn't recommend them higher, and I'm incredibly thankful to have them so near by. read more

I called about five minutes ago and a man with an accent answered and told me that he couldn't give my cat and dog a flea bath because it's "almost impossible" to give a cat a bath???? I told him that I have given my kitty a bath many times before but we needed it professionally done. He also told me they can only "do that on Wednesday's" technically making up lies because he didn't want to do it. I do not recommend this place what so ever. He was very rude over the phone and clearly doesn't like his job. read more

This guy was super rude to my husband who just wanted to know what time he could pick my dog up. We set an appt for 9 am on Tuesday for a Saturday and he said he wouldn't be ready until 3pm. we don't want our dog to just sit in a cage- if you make an appt you should be able to get them in and out. He was super rude, curt, and abrupt- and so my husband left and didn't drop him off. read more

I am a first time dog owner who adopted a poodle puppy a month ago.he needed a bath and trim. I called this place and he asked me to come in on saturday at around 10. I was running late than expected. But he did take my puppy in. He never asked anything about the puppy and I was confused. I tried to mention that he is puppy and it is his first session. But he was not at all interested. I wanted him to keep his look ,but just trim it all around to keep him comfortable in summer. When I picked him up I was blown away by his look, not in a good way!! He got a complete a poodle cut !! For a first time grooming you are not supposed to do that and I thought a professional place will do know that...he looked so puny after losing his beautiful puppy coat. He got a carppy cut in his tail as well...I am so heartbroken to see him ...so is all our family read more

They did an excellent job grooming my German Shepherd/Bernese Mountain Dog mix. He's about 90 pounds and sheds like crazy but he came home happy and fluffy, they spent a lot of time on him and charged a really reasonable amount ($55). We used to pay almost double the price back in Saugus to get him groomed. Glad we found a great place to take our furbaby! read more

I couldn't agree more with the previous reviewer; if you're looking for warm-hearted niceties this isn't the place to go. However, if you want a good grooming for your pet at a reasonable price with prompt service, this is the place. The owner is quite abrupt but he gets the job done, and well. I have an Old English Sheepdog with long hair and that can be a complicated grooming job. My only complaint is that they will not take the time to comb out tough mats; they shave them. Granted, that's acceptable but some other places will take the time to comb out mats. The end result is that their work is basic, good, reliable and relatively inexpensive. read more

Loved the service. Reasonably priced and our two big dogs came out perfectly clipped and groomed.

Brought our elder dog there they did a fantastic job workers very nice will definately be going back

This is the only groomer we will take our dog to. They are professionals; you can tell by how great our dog looks whenever we take him there. He goes in looking like a scrub, and always leaves looking like a distinguished gentleman, and smells great for days. As a matter of fact, my profile picture is my dog having some ice cream right after being picked up from Scrub-A-Dog. They are reasonably priced, and do high quality grooming. read more

Wow. I have a standard poodle who decided to play in the mud. When I called and asked for an appointment that day they said they could fit him in no problem. The store front isn't great and neither is the inside BUT when I got my well groomed pup back..!! He looked amazing!! I have never found a place that had cleaned my dogs ears so well. And not only did he smell amazing, he looked amazing! His face and feet were well groomed. His tail and sanitary trim was done well and his ears! What a relief! This place is 45minutes from where I live and I will definitely be going back! read more

It's hard to find a good cat groomer but these guys do a great job. Their manner is a bit abrupt but don't let that keep you from bringing your pets here. They are quick & efficient, the prices are reasonable, and they don't skip a thing. read more

I have a 9 year old Golden Retriever and have jumped from one groomer to the next for years until I found Scrub a Dub. Thank You Yelp !! Great experience, personalized, friendly, efficient!

I love Scrub a Dub and so does Ferg :) the owners are super sweet, give Ferg a fab new cut once every 6 weeks or so and they can usually take her last minute (which is awesome because I am not a planner.) read more

These guys are very flexible and generally get my dog in the same day. The owners are always there and have become friendlier after repeat visits and getting to know my dog. The place is bare bones so don't expect a luxurious pet spa. My dog has short hair so there is no grooming complexity in my rating but she comes home clean and happy and the price is right. read more

i AGREE THAT THE OWNERS LACK SOME PERSONALITY SKILLS HOWEVER THEY ARE KIND AND WARM TO MY GOLDEN RETRIEVER WHICH MATTERS MORE TO ME. I THINK THERE IS A LANGUAGE BARRIER AT TIMES AND THAT IS WHERE THEY COME OFF A LITTLE ABRUPT. My golden can be tough to groom and they do a great job. They do exactly what you say nothing more or less so be spacific. (Ex. light trim, do nails and trim feathers on legs) They always get me in same day. read more

I had an excellent experience making haircut to my dog. I called and the guy answered right away. When I asked when can I come in he told me anytime, even today. He told me the best time it would be 2pm. The haircut was done in 15 min. They asked me how I want to cut, I show them some spots. They did very cute haircut, they knew what they are doings. I didn't believe my doggie will sit quite all this time. Very nice friendly Russian couple who are in business more than 25 years. I will definitely come again. read more

Doesn't look like much, by they do a great job. I take my dogs here to get their nails cut. They are inexpensive and as long as I call ahead, get the dogs in and out quickly. Both my dogs hate getting their nails trimmed, but they do an excellent job handling my dogs. read more

Two Shih Tzu's and 11 years. That's my relationship with Scrub-A-Dog. I wouldn't go anywhere else! Originally from Russia, the owner couple can be shy because of language and cultural reasons. This sometimes can be perceived as abrupt or unfriendly but it's simply shyness. My first and now lasting impression when I walk in is the sense of calm. Gentle and loving, they have a unique rapport with the animals - large and small. Their place is immaculate and they offer a complete range of services at reasonable prices. They listen to what you want and consistently deliver. What you get in return is a reliable groomer and a clean and happy best friend. read more

My cat is very fluffy and prone to getting knots so I like to get her shaved every so often to prevent that from happening. I took her here, at first I thought things looked good but then realized that her whiskers had been cut. The owner and I had discussed she would be shaved and have her nails trimmed. Anybody working in this business should know that a cat's whiskers should Never be cut! You should not have to tell them this! After realizing this horrible thing had happened to my poor kitty and the owner confronted he only had to say he had never had a complaint about it. If you don't know why this is bad for cats, please research it, as there are many reasons. And don't go here, I certainly will never again. read more

DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A BALD DOG!!!!!! We brought our dog here for her first grooming appt ever. She is a thin haired dog and doesn't really need to be groomed, but needed a small trim around her neck and bum. They shaved 2 patches on each side of her neck and shaved her butt so now she looks like she has a problem. Also, upon dropping her off we had to tell the guy working there multiple times not to cut her whiskers (even though a good groomer would know not to cut a dog's whiskers). Completely disappointed, would NEVER go back again. read more

My dog has some serious anxiety about having his nails trimmed, to the point that after the last attempt my vet prescribed a cocktail of sedatives to give him the next time. I read the reviews of Scrub-A-Dog online and noticed a lot of people said how great Gene was with their difficult dogs, so decided to give it a try, sans drugs. He was fantastic! My dog did yelp and try to nip at him a few times, but Gene kept a firm, steady hold on him, and hummed/sang the whole time. My dog may not have been happy about it, but Gene got the job done, and didn't seemed bothered at all by the fuss. We will definitely be going back!! read more
