Meantime, asked Scott to proceed with measurements of specific windows since the house was open and I didn't need to be there for that part. My day was extremely challenging and I considered rescheduling but realized I had not saved Scott's number, did not know which office he worked out of. I initially, called a general Budget Blinds number that rang to a central scheduler. However, got there 45 min late. Scott greets me with sarcasm "that was hardly 30 minutes." I apologized again and shared a little about my day, 84 yr old mom in rehab with broken leg, business very wild and so much going on today! Scott replied, "common courtesy would have helped." Apparently, my sincere apology wasn't good enough for him. I was so offended by his lack of empathy, disregard for my personal choice to afford him the chance to earn my business and the fact that he made me feel reprimanded. I reminded Scott that I apologized and it appeared that he wanted to argue and rudely said "so do you want to just move on?" I thanked Scott for his time, said no thanks and left. What a horrible memory that occurred in the Kitchen of my new home! If this type of attitude is acceptable to Budget Blinds, who needs them? Certainly, not me.

For two of the other companies I considered it took several days to even get a quote. The day after I contacted Forst Builders - they were at my house the next day and provided an overview of the window they recommended and did all the measurements. Within an hour of them leaving from measuring the windows - I received a quote. The actual install is just hard to put into words. The crew that came to our house were seriously some of the nicest, personable and most professional people we have dealt with - ever. These people love what they do and it shows in their work and their interaction with each other and their crew members. The quality of their work and attention to detail is amazing. When they left a few hours later after installing 23 windows, there was no sign they were ever there in the first place - other than the beautiful windows on the house. Do yourself a favor - call Forst Builders if you are in the market for new windows. Truly a good thing they've got going!

We eventually set up a meeting with Brad, the owner of Zen Windows who explained the advantages and disadvantages of the many options we had. Brad is very congenial and in no way placed any pressure on us, but rather encouraged us to check with other sellers. Eventually we decided to have Brad put in five new windows and after three years we were more than pleased with all aspects of our purchase. The best recommendation I can give for Zen Windows is to tell you that we have just this week bought 20 more windows that today Brad and his crew completed installing... which is to say that every window in our house plus a couple of doors are from Zen Windows. The best thing about Brad is that before starting the installation he promises to keep working with his customers until they are happy with all aspects of the work. In addition, he and his crew were exceptionally professional and respectful throughout our interaction.

Brad refused to respond to direct questions multiple times in email and we had multiple other communication problems including no call / no show on scheduled dates. The windows took over 120 days to arrive after measurements. On day one of the scheduled install the installers (two man team) arrived without the new windows and stated they had no plans to work that day. A "two day install" turned into twelve days in November 2025, although only seven days with installers on-site as the other five days were no call / no shows. The install project stretched from early November 2025 into mid-March 2026 due to an incorrectly sized plus broken window. These last two items were finally installed in mid-March 2026, again with communication and scheduling issues (no call / no show, and then an unscheduled arrival that disrupted personal plans one evening). I understand jobs can take longer than expected or other scheduling conflicts arise but those should be clearly communicated to the customer(s). Instead family plans were disrupted multiple times, work hours were lost, and no apology or explanation were given. The windows are finally complete and look great but the overall headache was not worth the cost.

They got it scheduled and said the technician would call me once he assessed the vent. To my surprise, the technician reported that the vent was already really clean and told me it wasn't necessary. He said he'd of course be happy to do it but he thought I'd rather save the money. I'm so grateful for his honesty.
