Scray Cheese is a retail shop and factory nestled into a farmland roadside. This model gives you the freshest in-house cheese product available (I saw the curds being made!), and brings in other local vendor products to fill out what they have opted not to make themselves. Their retail shop is small but delightful, with a local, welcoming ambiance. They offer not just cheese but Scray merchandise, accessories, and even ice cream. This shop even has a drive thru available in case you need your cheese curds on the go. The fact that you could watch the factory floor from the retail shop was a fun surprise, taking me back to my Mr Rogers show-me-how-the-crayons-are-made days. Service is personable and I could tell that the person working knew most of the regulars. I'm sure all the locals already know about Scray Cheese but if you're from out of town, definitely make a stop. You'll be happy you did. read more

Stopped in to see whats new at scrays cheese on Saturday. Lots of varieties of cheeese, crackers, merchandise like cheese slicers, cutting boards. We were in the mood for icecream and each had a dish. Good variety of ice cream flavors. The young man behind the counter was a great ambassador for the store. He was chatty, friendly, and polite. There was a customer ahead of us doing a mail order package, and he was great at multitasking both parties to complete satisfaction. read more

This business is not too far outside of GB, where we were visiting for several days. I am pretty sure we took the longer, scenic, route - which was worth the drive seeing all the farms and what have not. My adult son wanted to take home some official Wisconsin cheese to his family, of which he bought like 8 pounds of various cheeses - just tipping the luggage scales at the airport check in (good thing a friend had spare room in his bag). I personally was tempted by the various summer sausages they had, as well as their cheese curds (which there is not much of, where I live, that I know of). My assortment tipped my luggage over the top too, but thank goodness the fourth man in our crew had some spare room too. The gal managing the storefront was very nice, as were nearly every Wisconsinite we came in contact with, and answered my tourist ass questions. After getting back home and after Thanksgiving my wife deep fried up some of those cheese curds, with a pre-packaged curd powder/crust (?) which I had made with my purchases. We both enjoyed them very much and look forward to deep frying the remainder in the near future. This little shop, had every variety and then some. Love that they are coming up on their 100th anniversary in April. I loved the Farmers Cheese, and the rope string cheese. It was all so fresh, and we even found a new cheese slicer there. It works great, going to pick up another one for my daughter. If you're driving through, stop by and pick up some absolutely delicious cheese curds. If you're not, don't go out of your way - it's not worth it. Cheese curds are the quintessential Wisconsin snack. These amazing rubbery or soft chunks of curdled milk may have many calories, but they are amazing. Fried or not - they always hit the spot. And this spot specializes in them. You can pick up fresh made cheese curds here, and the freshness is in the flavor. It is very tasty. Unfortunately, they don't offer a tasting of different cheese curds, which would be an extremely fun and memorable experience. Additionally, the server is very unfriendly - that warm midwestern attitude that you hear about was just not there at all. But these are minor issues. The main reason I would not recommend going out of the way for this place is that it's nothing special for its area. There are plenty of places in this region, an area where you will drive past numerous cows, where you can get cheese curds made fresh. So why go out of the way for this place? They don't offer a tasting, and they'll keep you waiting a very long time before they help you, because they're not really interested in working at the counter. I'm glad I went here because it was directly on the way to Green Bay. I won't come back again, as there are other cheese factories I can stop at, but those fresh cheese curds were very tasty. read more

The reason you visit Wisconsin!!! I made my first trip to Green Bay for a Packers game this Fall and wanted to find an out of the way cheese shop on my day of exploring the area. A beautiful drive through the local dairy farms and worth the trip! It's a small place with a huge variety of cheeses, local and otherwise to choose from. The staff was helpful in helping me making my choices and the cheeses were so reasonably priced I was able to bring home quite a few different cheeses for under $20!! We had their Award Winning aged Gouda, a local Cook County Cheddar with Cherries and an Apple White Cheddar. All out of this world!!! They had some amazing local ice cream that we had at their suggestion that tasted like "Froot Loops!!" No joke!!! There are I'm sure hundreds of cheese shop options in this area but you would be hard pressed to beat the friendly service, quality and value from Scray Cheese. read more

Driving from Chicago to Northern, WI, I noticed that I needed to fill up on gasoline in and around Green Bay. I took the nearest exit and en route to the gas station, I stumbled upon this gem. I didn't know there were this many types of cheese curds, haha. The Cajun is the best in my opinion. They make all their cheese onsite, I know this because you can see them make it in the rear of the store; it's a creamery. It is no surprise that they have won sooo many ribbons at the WI State Fair. I've had cheese curds from many different places since moving to Wisconsin in 2012 and this is now the only place I get them. It's a cute little shop that you'll miss if you're not explicitly looking for it. The staff here are friendly and welcome you in like you're family. The curds are honestly some of the best I've ever had. They're fresh, squeaky, and only $5 a pound! To top it off, if you're in a rush they even have a drive-thru window for you to use. If you can't make it to town then you can order from their inventory online, but be aware that the shipping is expensive. read more
