We came to try this bakery after hearing many good reviews and we were not disappointed! our favorites were the blueberry and pumpkin muffins and the molasses cookies! Along with the food being super delicious the staff was very friendly and personable, and were very patient especially because we were ordering so much! While staying in Hatteras, we popped into this amazing bakery on two different occasions. We enjoyed chocolate and blueberry muffins , iced sugar cookies, and mouth-watering cinnamon buns. Kyle was friendly and very nice to our young kids. Love the artsy, eclectic decor & sustainable packaging on all items. Since this bakery opens at 5 am, we stopped in early to grab coffee and breakfast for the long car ride home. I loved everything about this bakery! read more

Public bashing???? Ha wow! She is SEVERELY allergic to nuts so no I would not say she overreacted. She said she was allergic to BOTH. So for her to ask what did NOT have nuts, instead of playing the what about this game I don't think is unreasonable. Maybe you should have stepped in when you heard the conversation. But to each their own. Again, we will not come back to this place. Thanks you for your input though . Do not go here if you have any nut allergies. My friend and I went in to get coffee and some pastries. My friend has really bad nut allergies. When she asked about cross contamination and what was nut free, she wasn't given an answer besides tree nuts or peanuts? She was basically told just tell me what you are thinking about eating and I'll tell you what does or what doesn't. We didn't understand how they couldn't tell you what had NO nuts. My friend would not risk it due to them Clearly not knowing and taking it seriously. Safe to say we will not be going back there. We felt that it was extremely rude we couldn't get an answer and instead would have to go item by item to figure it out. read more

This was a recommended location from a local who told us we HAD to check it out. So a nice ride from Salvo and we arrived to fine the owners so much fun they were great on offering suggestions we got a variety of cinnamon buns, cheesecake, key lime cheesecake, coconut cheesecake, funfetti cupcake and triple chocolate sea salt cookie!!!! I have to say that I never leave reviews like this. Haven't tried the cake yet, but the customer service is terrible. We bought a birthday cake and asked for 3 words to be written - they charged us $10 extra. Since the birthday cake ended up costing $40, we decided to include another of our family members on the cake rather than buy another - they refused. They then acknowledged that they are the only bakery in Hatteras village, so we really couldn't do anything about it. If you're in need of some baked goods, do yourself a favor and make it at home and save yourself the frustration of doing business with these folks. read more

I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter and was very disappointed. We had several discussions via email and when I came in to pick it up she didn't even come over to see if I liked the look or to say, 'I hope you enjoy'. She continued doing what she was doing and I paid $80 for the cake. We got it home and cut it for 11 of us and it was horrible. I specifically asked for vanilla buttercream and was served whipped butter on a cake. Not one person liked the cake and my daughter was so upset. The cake was dry and crusty and I don't think there was any sugar in the entire thing. What gets me is I emailed her directly that evening to share my concerns and she didn't acknowledge it. You own your own business and should want each and every customer to have a great experience. It seems they don't care what people think because there will always be someone to buy their subpar goods. When you buy something there with a credit card you are asked if you want to tip when signing. Tip for what??? It's only the two of you and I just paid for the product. Why am I tipping you? The excellent customer service...NO, the excellent quality of the baked goods..NO. I tried to connect with her before going on social media but here I am. Please save your money and pass right by this place. It is WAY overpriced and not good at all. Keep driving, it's not worth your time. read more

I wish we had stopped here on our first day in town. We missed out on 4 days of mouthwatering goodies ! I am an atheist. I don't say that to be preachy. It's a preface to say that, if there is a god this place is the closest thing to proof of his existence. I have never had anything from scratchmade that wasn't beyond amazing, but the cheesecakes were beyond divine. My wife said the key lime was the best she has ever had and you don't need to be a pothead to enjoy the stoner's delight. I don't know that I could replicate their recipes at home but I wish they would put out a cookbook. read more

Found this place while on our yearly vacation to the OBX. Don't know why I didn't know about this place sooner!!!! I mean it when I say EVERYTHING IS PHENOMENAL!!!!! There isn't anything bad on the menu. The sugar crisps are by far my favorite! Everything is scratch made and fresh. There is a large selection to choose from so everyone will find something they like. We "discovered" this place the third day of our vacation and ended up going back three more times. My advice - go on day 1! The cupcake flag caught our eye, and the cupcakes were great - but the gigantic croissants and the fresh baked bread are to die for. Seriously. My new favorite pastry shop on Hatteras Island! I stopped in this morning with my family (it was their second time). I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't a crazy long line. We ordered a croissant, cinnamon roll, muffins, muffnuts, and a Danish. Everything was delicious!! I love their own creation of a muffnut (muffin and donut). They bake all their own goods. I'm excited to try other goodies next time! They have cookies, cupcakes, bars, and other breakfast treats. Stop by on your way to or from the ferry, you won't be disappointed! read more

A little bakery in Hatteras Village. We enjoyed the fresh made pastries including cinnamon rolls, muffins and tarts. A little pricy but if you enjoy a well made pastry I'd suggest giving them a try. Not to be missed. They open early so if you are headed to the docks or the beach you can pick up a tasty treat. My favorite was the key lime bar, a thick rendition of key lime pie with bright citrus and creamy texture. The breads are very good too, especially the jalapeno cheddar. read more

Everything we bought was delicious. The owners are super friendly and my daughter enjoyed engaging in "useless information" with the owner working the counter. The food is baked on the premises each morning and the place was so clean. A little expensive but worth it. If I lived here year round I would be in trouble everything was soooooo good. Gave this place a try for the first time and already planning a return trip tomorrow!
