Listen... if you're trying to impress on a first date without doing the tired dinner-and-drinks…read moreroutine, this is the move. I booked Potteryland Studio for a 3:30 PM session, and while it was a little busy, it actually worked in our favor. The energy in the room helped ease those first-date nerves--because let's be honest, silence on a first date is not your friend. The selection of pottery pieces? Solid. Plenty of variety without being overwhelming. We landed on the 2-piece butterfly set (which felt very "cute but intentional"), and I added the balloon add-on to bring some extra life to the table. That little detail? Whew. It did exactly what it needed to do. She was impressed, and points were definitely earned. Once we chose our pieces, there was a bit of a wait before someone came over to walk us through the process. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. When he did come over (his name escaped me--I was focused on not fumbling the date), he was helpful and explained the painting process clearly, including the "3 coats for true color after firing" tip. From there, it was smooth sailing. We picked our colors, got to painting, and just... talked. And that's where this place shines. It creates space for real conversation without it feeling forced. You're doing something with your hands, you're laughing at each other's designs--it's low pressure but still intentional. The staff checked on us regularly, which I appreciated. My only critique? The cooler. I didn't even notice it until we were wrapping up, and I was definitely ready for some water by then. If that's for guests, just say that upfront. Don't have me discovering hydration like it's a hidden side quest. Overall? This was a great experience. Creative, interactive, and just the right amount of different. The date went well, the vibe was right, and honestly... I'd do it again.

After months of attempting to locate the right sized replacement bulbs, I needed to replace the lighted base, so I searched nearby ceramics shops. I selected and visited this store and was excited to get started on my project; however, I left the store with the impression that I was a bother, rather than a potential new customer. I apparently "took up 2 parking spots" (of 3 or 5), was referred to as "one of those Christmas people" looking to repair or replace an item and was asked "Where did you get that, a garage sale"? At that point, I was happy to leave with the ceramic base and light kit and although firing the base is included in the price "after Christmas", of course, I will instead visit a different store to complete the project. What a shame - I had hoped to revisit this store and begin additional ceramics projects here due to the proximity to my home and my interest in rekindling interest in ceramics since my recent retirement after a 40-year corporate career. I am sad to have to post a negative review for a local, small business during this economy, but am unable to stop thinking about the treatment I received and feel obligated to share.

The young co-owner was just lovely. She and her Dad recently opened the store and you could see the pride in her face as she explained the work of each Artisan's items. I really impressed with her knowledge of the different woods and how they were finished. I found myself intrigued by a Mesquite wood side table which was absolutely stunning. The legs were contemporary, which is not my style at all, but this piece is one I really think I could work in with existing decor. Who says things have to match anymore anyway? I felt the pricing on the side table was extremely reasonable given the size it was and quality. Actually, nothing in the shop was overly priced, in my opinion. The dining tables, sofa or coffee tables were just fabulous. The shop owner showed me many of the items they were also creating in shop. Her dad seems to be a talented Artisan himself and his daughter is sharing his passion by learning the craft herself. A Jewelry display made for the store, was just beautiful. I asked if custom orders were considered in a larger size and she said a number of people have brought in a picture of what they have in mind and Artisanat has made it for the customer. So custom orders are a plus. There wasn't one item in the shop, be it large or small, I did not touch. So many beautiful and unique gift and items for persons of all ages. If you are searching for a gift for "that person who has everything" you won't need to look any further than Artisanat.

BEWARE OF ICECREAM!!…read more We were enjoying the day with family, walking around the cute area and going in shops and eating, etc. We had just left a restaurant across the street where we ate lunch and had gotten some icecream from there. We were going into more stores to continue shopping after eating and had our icecream in hand.... This was the first store we were going in and before my sister & niece could even step foot on the patio the woman behind the counter SCREAMED at them to not come inside with icecream. She said they had issues with kids and icecream in the past and they didn't want a mess. Understandable - this is your business and you can run it how you please. If you don't want outside food coming in, that's fine. What is NOT fine or understandable, however, is how you can be so classless and aloof that you then continue to talk crap about the customers you rudely yelled at to not come in your store (after they complied, without ANY complaint, comment, or so much as an eye roll, might I add) as the rest of their family is in your store trying to shop! I PERSONALLY listened to the two women behind the counter talk about my niece & my sister and their forbidden icecream the ENTIRE TIME I was trying to shop in the store. It took everything in me to bite my tongue and not address you directly - I did not want to escalate the situation in front of my niece, but if you read this please know I did NOT appreciate it and I think you lack decorum. You were rude and demeaning. Please learn a more respectful way to express your restrictions to your customer - something that is more closely aligned with the reaction you'd expect from a successful business owner rather than a teenage girl. If your store is going to be across the street from a popular ice cream shop, maybe you should take the initiative to print out that no ice cream sign you ranted about for 10 minutes. God bless! :)

I was a little bit confused on what to do so I'll help y'all out: 1) Select the piece you want to paint from the wall. You bring your piece to the counter and pay for the price of this piece (usually found at the bottom) AND an extra $7 on top for the paint. Don't worry, during COVID you're allowed to come back and finish painting at another time without paying an additional fee again. 2) Go to the paint section and write down the paints color you want to use on the sheet of paper. The shown paint is half 1 layer and the other half 3 layers. You can sit down at any table you want and they'll bring the paint to you. (You can always ask for more paint afterwards). 3) When you're finished, give your piece to one of the workers. They'll fire it up for you and be ready in a week or so.
