So I took a brief trip to Wadingriver river to open my summer bungalow. My friend told me about a new place close by called Lake view grill. If you blinked you would miss the sign and they seem to advertise less then I due for my book. So from knowing the area as I have for over 20 years I was shocked at the size of the place. We met the lovely Bonnie who served my friend and I. We didn't go crazy with our orders but enjoyed our chicken wraps. Next time they'll have the outside setup and we'll try diving deeper into the menu. This seems like a word of mouth case because when I put it directly into yelp they have no info on it but I was able to get yelp after just looking up the place. Phil's is still the king of the area for me, he's a great guy which makes the choice easy. Saying that I'm sure I'll see him at the lake view grill helping support their business.

We went for dinner and had some great food and excellent service! I got the Cobb salad with shrimp and it was a giant portion with really great toppings. The shrimp came out a little cold but overall very good. The service was speedy and attentive and the restaurant could accommodate many. The additional events and attractions look like a fun time and I will have to stop back to check them out and eat again.

We have had an amazing experience each time we have gone, the staff has been friendly and accommodating, the place is clean and the property is well taken care of. The food at the restaurant well exceeded our expectations each time we have gone, the chefs recommendations did not disappoint! Haven't tried the smaller cafe but looks great for quick bites

This place is awesome! There is so much to do, it's our new favorite spot. The food is great too we've eaten at the restaurant and at concessions

Price went up a bit which is sad, but it's still a ton of fun there and their flow rider (the wave) is a lot of fun

Is this place a bargain-- no. Is this place pretty awesome if your child loves dinosaurs-- yes!…read moreThis spot is about an hour away from me, but it's worth the drive to spend an afternoon here. I thought all the dinosaurs were super impressive and love how they setup the whole walking trail. There is a ton of shade, so even if you go when it's super hot you'll be fine! I appreciate all the ferns that they planted around, makes it feel "authentic" with all the dinos. For my dino obsessed five year old he loved seeing all the variety of dinosaurs and even some more obscure ones that he knew and you never see at spots like this. They did a great job of putting some dinosaurs into "scenes" and simply showcasing others with facts and more info. My son isn't into splash pads, but that splash pad looked like a ton of fun. The climbing area was also huge and looked like fun. My five year old stuck to walking around and going through the maze 15 times. The maze is simple, but fun and a nice addition to the park. What I like about this park is it's great for kids of all ages! Probably from at least 3-10 and even older if your child is super into dinosaurs or you are an adult who loves dinos!

Better version of Chuck E Cheese…read more The best part of the trip to Xtreme Play was the strapped in aerial obstacle course. Geared towards the younger crowd, adults can partake in the play which was pretty cool. There was enough excitement from the various obstacles to provide a thrill, old and young alike. This was definitely the highlight of the entertainment center. Safety wasn't an issue and there was enough supervision even with the additional risks. There are many arcade games but 1/3 of the games seemed to be out of order for my trip. Not sure if that is because of the package my group paid for. Honestly most of the games were stale. The bumper cars were of the kiddie variety and used levers for movement instead of a steering wheel so it was a little less bump which takes away some of the fun. The overall drive space was smaller so the bumps were more like nudges. The scary 3D movie experience also didn't provide the thrill I was expecting. The aroma of buttery popcorn is very prevalent everywhere in the center, so much so that I swear it's on purpose to make you buy popcorn. The pizza was not impressive but I suppose standard for the course. During my visit the wait for the concession lines were really long. The floors were well cleaned and maintained which is a nice change from the normal food stained floors of most kiddie entertainment centers.

Considering the fact that 3 hours of unlimited attractions is $43 on its own, the Level Up package is a deal! Plus, I don't have to limit my kids' activities so everyone is happy. My boys loved the Dark Ride, which is an interactive ride with shooting elements, and the bumper cars. There was also a ropes course, rock wall, ninja warrior course, and a ballocity play area. The only bummer was that the mini bowling was out of order, and I know my sons would have loved that.

We get early access before the crowds, before the noise, before the overwhelm... and that alone makes the whole experience doable for our family. Less lines, less sensory overload, and more time to just enjoy being together. A huge thank you to @nassausuffolkasa for not only providing our tickets and early entry, but also treating families to an amazing barbecue. That kindness goes a long way for days like this. My oldest is autistic and has loved the water since he was a baby, so this day is always one he looks forward to all year. Watching him feel free, happy, and regulated in a space like this is something I'll never take for granted. We explored new areas this time (the kids are getting so big), including the Stingray Bay section, which was such a fun new addition, they just opened that area last year! There's truly something for all ages, from splash pads for little ones to bigger slides for the older kids. If you're in New York or visiting, this is absolutely a summer must do. And if you're looking for organizations to support, NSASA is one that truly shows up for families like ours, creating inclusive events, early/late access days, fundraisers, and opportunities that make experiences like this possible. And here we are, at Splish Splash, a place I took a road trip too when I lived in Queens. Then it seemed like it was across many states. It's funny how you perceive things as a kid versus as a grown up. Now this place is no more than 30min from my parents, but I still haven't been here since becoming an adult and I'm glad we did. The place has changed so much. Better layout. More family friendly. We rented one of the luxury cabanas for the entire day. It cost $1200 and allows 32 people, but holds 40. You have to buy additional wristbands at $20 a wristband. You also still need to buy tickets. The sales office was wonderful to work with and answered all my questions and we got the group rate for our day at the park. As much fun as we had, and as great as the space was, which we plan on doing again, there needs to be more support in the Cabana areas. At one point security asked one of my guest if they should be there, and when they showed them their wristband they continued to follow up with the cabana staff, meanwhile, people kept coming into our cabana trying to use the area for themselves. Where was security then? The food and drink service also lacked. We were instructed to order off the QR code which were on signs throughout the cabana, but half of them didn't work. We had to wait over an hour and a half for our food and some people didn't get their drinks. Once I expressed how long we waited, and how we felt overlooked the staff gave us a few additional canned margaritas. By this time it was late afternoon. Most of had to leave because the kids were exhausted. Moral of the story: this place has had a major glow up, I'm hoping that the staff and service follow suit as they continue to grow. This is a piece of nostalgia on Long Island and I would hate to see it go away anytime soon.

All of the staff there are well-trained, welcoming, and friendly with both my kids. You have the option to upgrade your regular admission to a one year membership after your visit. To save yourself from a 3.5% surcharge if you use credit, you'll want to pay in cash. Breakeven for my membership was about 3 visits and we did just that for the 4 days we were in Riverhead. My kids loved it so much that they are already asking to go back. The aquarium is well kept and the sharks are HUGE!! They are definitely well fed. The aquarium is Atlantis themed and you can tell a lot of time, money, and detail went into the making of this aquarium. The aquarium is privately owned and you do see sponsorship (advertisement) from private companies. I am comparing my experience with the NY aquarium in Brooklyn, which I have visited countless times. The Long Island Aquarium blows the NY aquarium away in every way possible. It's new, ventilation indoors is amazing, the sea lion show has shade, the penguins can be seen up close, there's an inexpensive option to snorkel, theres a big tree house, etc. I would totally recommend coming here with your family. If you come on weekdays, there might be a lot of school kids, and if you want to avoid that, you probably should should come around 1 or 2pm. Highly recommend this aquarium.

The experience is phenomenal, whether you're young or older. There are interactive experiences, dives, tours, touch experiences and much, much more. My favorite is the penguin exhibition. The clear sides and floor is raised high enough for a child to go under. One comes to a rounded raised portion of the floor where the child can stand completely up and feels as if it's in the midst of the penguins. The penguins are very gregarious. When my Grandson looked at the side of the exhibit they all came over to greet him. As he moved, they moved to follow him. What fun! Don't miss the sea lion show, large living coral exhibit, shark tank and butterflies, bugs and bees garden. This year long attraction is a "must do" if you're in Long Island, especially if you have a child in tow.
