    Alliston Transmission & AutoCare

I got work done at Alliston Transmission and the work was okay when they finally took our Ford 150…read moreinside to work on it!!! It took them almost 3 WEEKS to bring it inside replace a starter after telling us they could do it and to have it towed over!!!! My husband was very nervous about it sitting there so long and went over to their parking lot several times to check on the truck and it was fine each time!! When it was finished and he finally picked it up the tailgate was smashed in!! The truck did not have a mark on it and the tailgate was pristine!! I suddenly had to deal with the fact that my tailgate was ruined and nobody there said a word about how this happened!! There was a huge tree near by marked up and even had white paint from our truck still on it and on the ground!! Both the owner and my husband agreed that it had been backed into this tree somehow!!! At first Paul ( the owner ) seemed to be concerned and we thought he would take responsibility for the the tailgate being totalled but he then shifted his attitude and said it must have been the tow truck driver who dropped it off there!! This was not the case and impossible because like I previously said my husband had been over there many times checking on the truck and it was fine!! Trying to blame another tow truck and not owning up to the fact that our vehicle was damaged while in their care is outrageous to me!! And why would they say to tow it over it they couldn't bring it inside and work on it for 3 weeks?????? It would not have happened if it was sitting at our home on our property!!! Apparently they said there were no working cameras and took absolutely no responsibility for my damaged truck!! I would have expected a better explanation then just "They had no idea what happened"!!! So the honesty is just not there and level of care given was non existent!! So just warning ppl to beware of leaving your vehicle with Paul the owner who assured me he was insured and had video protection so not to worry about my truck safely parked in their parking space!!

I would like to warn anyone looking for a mechanic to stay clear of a business that is operated by…read moreJoe Webb - Webb Mobile Mechanic LTD ... This man is Wolf in Sheep's clothing. No integrity or respect for the people he deals with. I found this Webb Mobile Mechanic LTD through facebook back in April of this year and saw positive reviews. Initially I was looking for a simple seasonal tire change over for a few vehicles. He wasn't able to provide this service because he didn't have a programming device for the TPMS. Sometime later in early May I engaged with Joe Webb again to perform some work on my 22 year old son's car, he required a rear wheel bearing, and a front control arm replaced. I figured we could save the lad some money by not dealing with the higher rates of a conventional brick and mortar shop, not to mention the convenience. This work was all performed, and I was happy with the service and Joe seemed like a nice guy. I thought, perhaps I can get him to perform some work on my truck, I needed my front struts replaced. I got some estimates from a couple local shops and a cost from Joe was by far less money and he assured me that the parts he was providing were very good quality products AND he warrantied all work for 3 years, so I authorized him to perform the work. He completed the work in my driveway on May 28th within a few hours and all seemed well. In the meantime, my sons car required a few more things to be worked on, rear trailing arms, lower control arms & toe adjuster assemblies, so I got Joe to quote and eventually after MUCH back and forth on a date had him perform the repair on June 30th. Because of all this work being done my son had to get an alignment done so he booked at Canadian tire Alliston... well as it turned out one of the toe arm adjuster assemblies was defective and the bolt in it just spun, so the alignment could be performed... my son still had to pay a charge for the alignment of the ONE side of $140.00. I informed Joe of this issue and asked that we have it corrected. It was obvious by his return text that he was agitated by this news but said he would have a look at it, which he did (when came to change the second rear wheel bearing on my sons' car). He confirmed that yes, the part was indeed defective and that he would need to order a replacement and get it repaired ... here is where things start to get sketchy in the communications with Joe .... Short story is I start getting various texts with reasons why he couldn't come by and rectify this WARRANTY issue... then ALL communication STOPPED. I have texted and called Joe numerous times, my texts go unanswered and my phone calls get ignored and forwarded to his voicemail. Just so we are clear, every text or voicemail I left Joe has been respectful and lighthearted. He will NOT respond to me at all. In all between my Son and I we spent over $3,000.00 with Joe but We really have no recourse at this point and will need to take my sons car to a certified shop to get this corrected... spending more money that he shouldn't need to spend. I should also mention that shortly after Joe performed the strut work on my truck, I started getting an intermittent clunk or a grinding sound from the front left when turning as slow speed. I asked Joe to have a look at it, but he never did. I don't know if it is a result of something he did but at this point I feel that I must question every interaction that I have had with Joe Webb. I will be having a brick-and-mortar shop have a look at this issue this week. The takeaway here is that Joe Webb is happy to help you out as long as he is taking your CASH but he doesn't deliver on his word or written terms on his invoices if a warranty issue arises. When dealing with a business of this nature, you are really putting your faith in the person you are dealing with and counting on the proprietor to operate with Honesty, Integrity and respect. I can assure you that you will not get any of this from Joe Webb if an issue arises from any work he has performed on your vehicle. Without question Brick-and-mortar shops will cost you more to have work performed and yes less convenient BUT you have recourse if an issue with any work performed arises.
