Owner (kind of Gandalf type) was very friendly with unique sense of humor ready for a wee chat in every moment. We rented separate bunkhouse with 5 beds, separate private shower, toilet and kitchen. All facilities were in perfect condition. Unfortunately without nice view from the window. Next time we took 3 bed room which was located in separate kind of flat with two bedrooms (ours 3 bed room and second 2 bed room occupied by some couple). For five of us we had separate shower, toilet and kitchen&lounge area with nice view on the garden. Everything charged in a hostel price Parking outside and no problems.

They are environmentally conscious and offer power saving outlets, recycling, compost, and etc. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The other people in the hostel were quiet, tidy, and nice. We greatly enjoyed our stay here. Definitely worth the extra money to stay in a hostel this nice!

She also brought in our breakfast into our bunkroom. While the bunkhouse was full, she helped some travellers who did not plan ahead by finding lodging at another location 4 miles away. Furnishings were fairly new and clean. Bunkhouse had us remove our shoes at the door to keep the place clean. Floors were hardwood instead of carpet. Beds were fairly comfortable for cheap bunks. Power strips and chairs were plentiful in the room so everyone had somewhere to sit and power up. showers were excellent. towels and shampoo were provided. also bottles of cologne, sunscreen and bug spray were available in the bathrooms for those trekking the the west highland way. breakfast was cereals, warm breads, meat and cheese. plus, tea, coffee, milk, yogurt and juice.you can have more than one serving if you want.
