Mr. Smith and Mr. Jacobs were the 4th firm we talked with before choosing who would help my husband represent his case. All the other firms said they would be able to win our case, but after listening to them we understood that they really didn't understand my husbands industry and what he was being charged with. A couple of firms would not even meet with us in person unless we agreed to retain them and pay a fee or they wanted to meet us at a bar. We were able to meet with Mr. Smith in person before retaining him and Mr. Jacobs and he spent over an hour listening to our concerns, explained the processes, and hurdles we would possibly face. At the end of the meeting Mr. Smith explained that they would take care of our case so we can go back and live our normal lives again. Overall we felt very well taken cared of, all of our questions were answered no matter how small, and even though it did take a long processes due to COVID closing the courts in the end Mr. Jacobs was able to have our case dismissed. We would recommend them to everyone who is ever in need of a criminal lawyer. read more

Terrible group of lawyers. Scott basically forgot about my case multiple times. I retained Scott before having to move out of state while the case would be waiting to be placed on the docket. All I heard for two years from this group of lawyers was "not yet, still waiting", etc. After the date that the statue of limitations for the case had passed, I called Scott to verify that the state had failed to prosecute within the time frame allotted. It's a good thing I called, because apparently the case has been brought before the court and prosecution had been set in motion months prior to this and Scott and his team had no idea. After that surprise, this team of lawyers fumbled around and finally presented me with plea deal that they said was the best they could do if I wanted them to handle the case while I was in absentia. The only other option would be to fly back to Georgia from California to await trial. I reluctantly accepted the plea bargain which included Community Service, attending a class, and paying a fine. I submitted all proof of completion of my part of the bargain. Scott and his team took it to court and had it signed and sealed, and told me that the case was resolved. Fast forward to a few months after that. I get a call from Scott's office telling me they "made a mistake" when they told me the case was resolved. They messed up the paperwork and failed to include in the plea deal they presented me with that the court had requested I take another class. There was a probation officer waiting on paperwork as proof for completion of a class I was never informed I had to take, months after I was told the case was resolved and over with. I tried my best to find a class and complete it in what time remained before the probation officer put a bench warrant out for my arrest, but there simply was not enough time. If you want someone competent enough to handle your criminal case, do NOT choose Scott W Smith, "Peach State Lawyer". Not only is he kind of a dick to his clients, he is wildly irresponsible and forgetful and is just (barely, if at all) going through the motions for your money. read more

when i tell you scott is the best attorney that money can buy-please take my word for it. i got caught up in a situation and just knew that i would eventually be sporting an orange jumpsuit-but scott assured me that wouldn't happen and he stood by his word. he defended me to the end. we were up against two bullies (prosecuter and judge) and he fought for me. he got me the best sentence i could have asked for and for that he has definitely won a special place in my heart. he is definitely the lawyer of all lawyers. he will go all the way for you!!! read more

I asked the State Bar of Georgia for a basic disability accommodation so I could take part in its own complaint process, since their website is not ADA compliant and neither is their system for submitting complaints. On May 12, 2026, at 2:12 PM, on Bar letterhead, the Deputy General Counsel of the State Bar of Georgia wrote to me: "The State Bar is not a public entity subject to the ADA." "it does not appear that you require assistance in preparing written submissions." "your invocation of the ADA process may be directed less toward obtaining accommodation... and more toward securing a particular substantive outcome." Read the second one again. The lawyer who helps run the office that disciplines other lawyers looked at a documented disability request and decided it did not appear I required assistance. Now the part he left out. Eight days earlier, on May 4, 2026, a Senior Assistant General Counsel of the same Bar had already granted my accommodations in writing: written only communication and accessible electronic format. The very next day after the denial, on May 13, 2026, at 12:08 PM, the Bar confirmed it again: "The State Bar has approved your accommodation request." So one Bar lawyer was granting the accommodation while another Bar lawyer was writing to me that it did not appear I needed one, and suggesting I was working the disability process for an angle. Same office. Same week. Same file. THE TIMELINE May 4, 2026: A Senior Assistant General Counsel grants the accommodations in writing. May 12, 2026, 2:12 PM: The Deputy General Counsel writes that it does not appear I require assistance, and questions whether I am using the ADA process for a substantive outcome. May 13, 2026, 12:08 PM: The Bar confirms in writing that the accommodation is approved. WHY IT MATTERS. This is not a story about one rude letter. Then in April, I received a call from the court saying that my court date is in a few days! To my surprise I find out that attorney Johnson NEVER FILED on my behalf! Nor did he do any of which he had promised. Now I have to go to court alone, scared, and unsure of my future. Thanks for nothing! His practice should be fined and shut down for lying and taking money for no services. Horrible!

For real, her work dog shit, she gave us a final copy of the trusts with errors and someone else's name not mine, then lied saying it was an original document when we know damn well you plug and chugged into a template after that. The living will was all kinds of screwed up and barely resembled the things I said in the meeting about what I wanted, 50% was the wrong information! The office is also full of incompetent idiots. They don't know how to mail anything...like they can't figure out how to do postage so it required us to pay the difference that we had to Hound her about getting back. Her office manager doesn't know how the mail works either, the whole place struggles with it all and can't figure out how to write checks and lie to us using the cliché "check's in the mail!" excuse without ever giving the tracking number until we got real angry. Scott Smith with. 2-3 years, I carried charge of Felony Murder in which I am not ashamed to tell my story a extremely serious charges that threatened my freedom at a young age. The Prosecutor knew they had an open-and-shut case, but Scott said "Fight" no Donald Trump lol. With persistence, he brought it and completely destroyed there arguments The district attorney's case?....Was left sounding nonsensical When the jury walked back into the room to announce the verdict. I was certain I was going to prison My heart was pounding and the silence in the courtroom made it even worst.Then they proceed to say : "Not guilty." I cannot thank Beth Goldstein enough for the incredible work she did on my case. I believe it was God's timing that I met Scott when I did. After being connected with Scott through a mutual associate, Scott made me feel confident hiring him as my lawyer. I have never been in legal trouble before so of course, I was nervous. Scott did a great job outlining my case, communicating with me and also acknowledged the fact that I am a truly a good citizen. Well , where do I start? In 2019 I was indicted on 7 felony charges and 1 misdemeanor. Charges of which included murder, felony murder, counts of aggravated assault, and hit & run, just to name a few. From start to finish Scott has been there by my side and involved with my case, even when I felt my life was over.
