Dr Scott performed a sinus procedure on me in 2013, I had the best care and I can breath without any medication/ nose spray.

I recently moved to Danville and was looking for an ENT doctor to help me with an ongoing issue I…read morehad been dealing with for over 18 months. I had an excess of thick mucus dripping down the back of my throat, which caused persistent coughing. I suffered through several sinus infections, and my coughing eventually became so severe that I had trouble sleeping and experienced uncontrollable coughing attacks. Previously, I saw two different ENT doctors in Sacramento who ran tests and were trying to get to the root of the problem and a solution. When I moved to Danville, I chose to see Dr. Au. He truly listened to everything I described. During my first appointment, he conducted a thorough assessment and spent a significant amount of time explaining what he believed the problem was and how to solve it. My husband and I were amazed by how much time he spent with us on that very first appointment because we knew he had other patients waiting for him. But he didn't rush us out. He answered every question. We left the office feeling better about finding a way to get me back to a better quality of life. Dr. Au is clearly an incredibly intelligent man, but beyond his knowledge, it was his ability to listen and explain things clearly that truly stood out. Fast forward to surgery day. I underwent bilateral endoscopic sinus surgery, septoplasty and turbinate reduction. At this point, I already had the utmost respect and confidence in Dr. Au and I felt calm, knowing I was in the best hands. The week after surgery I sent him probably 10 messages on MyChart asking questions and letting him know about little things that alerted me like swelling and a headache. Even though the aftercare literature covered these symptoms, I am a bit of a "worry wart" and I felt I needed to ask Dr. Au if these things I was experiencing were okay. Not only did he respond to every single message I sent him but he even told me if I wanted to be seen before my scheduled post-op which was in a few days, his office would squeeze me in. I called the office and his wonderful staff squeezed me in that day. Dr. Au checked me that day and again answered all of my "million" questions. He never tried to cut me short or hurry out. He is the best listener and made me feel so comfortable. I feel so good now. I'm sleeping well. No coughing and my symptoms are gone. I feel like my old self again. I can honestly say in my 60 years, Dr. Au is the best doctor in every category that I have ever seen. Hands down, I don't even have to think about it.

Dr. Abraham Hsieh squeezed us in on a very busy Monday so he could confirm the diagnosis. I appreciate him doing this for us since my son was in a lot of pain and we weren't sure why. We have seen Dr. Hsieh a handful of times (both in Walnut Creek & San Ramon) with great results. He correctly diagnosed my son's parotid gland infection and was extremely gentle while performing an in-office needle biopsy. As for logistics, he is mostly punctual, returns phone calls in a timely manner and the staff is friendly/pleasant to work with. Furthermore, Dr. Hsieh helped us get into radiology for a last minute CT scan in the same week. Highly recommend.

They noticed I was coughing and provided me with some water. They were all so kind, and I noticed how they all helped each other out, whether it was answering phones, or helping us patients, they surprised me on how hard they work. I recommend this office and Dr. Murphy 1,000 percent! I read some of the other reviews, and it sounds like there are many entitled people who seek attention versus being humble and appreciative of the doctor's and staff's time. We can't expect a doctor to drop everything just to attend a patient who calls every 2 minutes. Lets be realistic. And if you are not happy with the service, then my advice to those people is: don't come back and move forward with life. ;)

This review is for Dr. Au as he's the only doctor at this location and I reviewed Dr. Ford at the Walnut Creek location in August. I was initially impressed with how empathetic Dr. Au was to my concerns. At the end of the month, he changed and not for the better. I started seeing him for treatment of ear pain and infections as I relocated back to the east bay this summer and my former ENT in Menlo Park is out of network with my current insurance (and I don't want to spend 2+ hrs driving round trip). He suspected TMJ, which I've been skeptical about since my jaw doesn't bothered me, yet the MRI confirmed TMJ on the left side. The exercises he gave me helped but when I felt my ear canal swell, he said it was caused by TMJ and to take ibuprofen. While I don't deny that sometimes my pain is TMJ related, I've had my ear swell before and my former ENT was concerned and didn't just tell me to take OTC pain meds. My TMJ is very mild and responds well to stretching my jaw and occasional OTC pain meds. Also, at that appointment, he told me to "keep wearing the night guard" despite my telling him at a prior appt they aren't helpful. I told him I tried a few in the past (that were expensive!) and that my dentist does not think a night guard is necessary. While I don't expect him to remember everything in my chart, I do expect him to remember things I tell him about my prior treatment for a symptom for which I'm currently in treatment. When I emailed him that the swelling was worsening and to please investigate further, he responds with "I already investigated by looking in your ear". OMG I am NOT looking to re-live my middle school teaching days and expect my doctor to communicate professionally as a fellow adult and not an 11-14 yo with an attitude. I wrote him a message about how upset i was with his attitude and that TMJ is likely not the cause. I even sent screenshots from ENT Health that show my symptoms as more in line with otitis externa or a cholesteotoma. His office calls the next day as I'm driving to work to schedule a telehealth appointment to discuss my email. I took it as a good sign because if he didn't care, why would he ask to schedule an appointment. Boy, I could not have been more wrong! Fast forward to the appointment, which was one of the worst appointments I've had. He does not acknowledge anything I wrote or apologize for his behavior. He kept saying I have TMJ and I should pursue avenues I've tried AND are unnecessary like wearing a night guard and seeing a neurologist. I've seen a few neuros over the years who have confirmed I don't have a neurological disorder, similar to my dentist telling me I don't grind my teeth or need to spend $$ on a night guard. In the middle of the conversation, he says, "I'm a pretty good clinician". What an arrogant SOB!! I wasn't even questioning his competence, but how he was communicating with me. I started crying towards the end of my appointment as I told him I have PTSD from mistreatment from male ENTs which is a barrier to seeking treatment. When I emailed the receptionist asking for a referral to a female ENT at UCSF for the above reason, she told me that Dr. Au released me from his care. While maybe he legitimately couldn't treat my problem, he shouldn't release me from his care for advocating for myself as a result of his minimizing my concerns. Excuse me, but I have the right to speak up and not expect my doctor to dump me for that. Perhaps leaving him is for the better as I was diagnosed with my 6th or 7th ear infection this year WITH MY 2ND SET OF EAR TUBES by an urgent care doctor. That doc said I was lucky to come in today as the infection was mild but would have worsened if I waited. Dr. Au even said ear infections are more frequent in people with ear tubes, which is BS. I had 2 infections with the 1st set until I had a perforation requiring removal. The infections with the 2nd set started a little less than 1.5 yrs since they were placed. I really hope my new ENT will agree to remove them since 6-7 ear infections in 8 months is NOT normal. As much as I tried to avoid removing them, I think it's time because I feel terrible when I have an infection and I don't want to take antibiotics/use drops indefinitely. Definitely do not recommend Dr Au (& CCENT) if you want a doctor to spend time with you, do more than the minimum amount of work, and encourage you to speak up if they are communicating in a way that doesn't feel right.

Until this last web interview took it too far. I told him something personal that I really needed with my health. And yeah it wasn't even a benzo or anything on that level. He mocked my situation. Literally laughed in my face and said either my plan or you'll probably die. I said "there's nothing you can do for me at all?". He said "nope." So i said "thanks you're just wasting my time, i need to get back to work." Don't waste your time or insurance on this guy

I came in with all my medical records from Kaiser. What I don't like about Dr. Yen. He doesn't like to call in any medications without you coming in. He doesn't like Email or phone diagnosis. When I came to Dr. Yen he knew I needed sinus surgery. So, I get frequent sinus infections. So, what's the big deal. I SHOULD be able to call or email you for the medications. It's not like it's a narcotic. Secondly, I asked for a referral, he wants to see me first. Why? I told you I had an issue when I first came to him, so it was already discussed. Basically, he and others said there is nothing that can help it. Well, I want to see someone. So, I have to see you for that, pay a copay for something I already discussed with you. Doesn't make sense. Third, when I started with Dr. Yen, I was made to feel that a medication, that I have been taking for YEARS, he felt was addicting. Okay, well, everyone is not an opoid or drug addicted person. He almost changed my medication. I felt like he was implying that I could become addicted. Basically, I told him, the particular medication was just down to a few pills and he could call Kaiser and ask when it was filled. He would find that I got it almost a year ago. So, with that, Im sure that would prove, I ain't misusing my pills. I don't like to be put in that group. Some of us actually only take what we need. If you ask for a referral, he wants to see you EVERY TIME. I complained about a lump under my arm, he had to see me first. Even though for the most part, I like United Healthcare, there is much that needs improvement on their part. The email system is terrible, no video appointments, oh sorry, they prefer you not go to ER, instead use the app for video appointments, but it cost you $50. Their website for patients sucks. I will give it to Kaiser, overall they are state of the art. I'm presently looking to change to a female doctor that is on the same page with me. I'm looking for someone younger. Someone with a better bedside manner.
