A month later I did notice when I was eating something but it seemed a little sensitive so I called them back to see if he could fix that filling. The receptionist told me that he would have to do x-rays again even though he had just me seen me a month ago and I had x-rays from a year ago when I first got there. I don't have dental insurance and although I understand Dr.Kerbel wants to be thorough it just seemed like a lot of extensive testing when he's already communicated to me that he felt like the filling was loose. The receptionist made it sound like he felt that since I was complaining about the tooth something much bigger could be going on which I think is a huge leap when I told them I just had a little sensitivity not major pain. So honestly I'm a little skeptical and because I communicated that ; they offered to do additional x-rays for free but I'm going to get a second opinion because I just felt like they want to do more than is necessary and it is quite expensive even though they have a very luxurious office. Furthermore I sent my fiancé there because of my initial teeth cleanings. He ended up getting seven sealants on his teeth due to Dr.Kerbel's recommendation. Now he has more sensitivity to those teeth and he regrets having it done. He was also told by the office that his insurance would cover the treatments and then after he had it done the office then stated it would not be covered and he had to pay out of pocket. I find that inexcusable and I believe if the office makes that kind of error they should pay for it since they misspoke and Jeff was misled. 11/5/17 I have had to block their office from calling me. It seems Connie keeps calling me wanting me to change this review but she is part of the reason for my negative experience in the first place. They really need to stop badgering me and I am definitely not interested in returning for any more treatments. Please stop calling me and understand I do not want to rehash things.

They even resubmitted my initial visit to my insurance under a different coding to enable me to get that fee back (I know it was a pain for them to do, but they did it and I got the $ for that back) As for the procedure (basically tissue transplant from the roof of my mouth to the needed areas around my teeth) I felt like I was well cared for and the whole thing seemed to fly by. I was approved by Dr. Orth to have a local anaesthetic so I was awake for the whole process. The professionalism and clear experience Dr. Orth has was evident, along with constant checking of my wellbeing. Post operation care information was provided and a follow up for a short time later - all of which proved to be successful. I had a difficult wisdom tooth extraction where, despite my dentist's best efforts, the tooth was not fully removed, leaving a retained root that affected a nerve and resulted in months of headaches. I was not prescribed any medication at the time and was advised to manage pain with Tylenol only. When I returned due to ongoing pain, I was referred to an oral surgeon who did not accept my BCBS insurance. After further research, another oral specialist discovered an additional severely decayed wisdom tooth that I had not previously been informed about. Thankfully, I was able to receive proper treatment and resolution elsewhere. Another long-standing concern was inconsistency in billing. I was frequently quoted one amount, only to be charged a different total at later visits, which was disappointing as a long-term patient--especially being in healthcare myself. You may find this dental practice as "in-network"with your dental insurance but BEWARE!!!…read more Once you are in the office, he will suggest a treatment plan that provides "upgraded services". You will be asked to sign a waiver titled "Do Not Bill to Insurance", an election to self-pay for services. This waiver specifies that you do not want to share health info with your dental insurance company and the dental office should not submit a claim. He will tell you your privacy rights are more important than an insurance contract. By signing this waiver,this dentist can then proceed to charge you high prices for supposedly upgraded services that will "provide you quality of care"...so if I do not sign this waiver do I receive services without quality of care?? This is a dentist who bills himself as "in-network" but in reality, he will charge you out-of-network prices while trying to convince you he is doing you a favor by bypassing your insurance company. If this dentist truly believed in quality and honesty he would simply choose not to participate as an in-network provider. If you dare to question his bait and switch practices, he will add insult to injury by emailing you a condescending and obviously AI written form letter that compliments you as being highly educated but then goes on to say you are in need of education to understand dental insurance.
